There’s a strange, bright star over the Kawani lands. It’s a rare sight, and legend has it that the star can grant a few select individuals a special request. Head up to the top of the hill, place a small offering on the altar, and make your wish. Is it a wish for love, a child, a friend or even someone long lost? Think carefully about your wish, however, as you only get to make one!

• You may enter for, at most: 1 Soquili Slot (anything but Loyal Companion) and 1 Familiar Slot (Loyal Companion) if you have not hit your monthly cap.
  
  Restrictions
  
• Non-charmed skinwalkers cannot participate. Charmed skinwalker entries will not result in skinwalker soquili granted from the wishing star.
  
• You may use another person's pet or couple so long as you have their permission. This permission can be in the form of a lifemate agreement between their pet and yours, or a post in the Reference and Mockbreeding Permissions thread.
  
• You may use pets that are deceased IC.
  
  Reminders
  
• Please check to make sure you have been added to the list correctly. We will do our best to keep the list accurate and updated frequently, but mistakes do happen, especially when there's a high number of entrants. With this rule, we will no longer be rolling an additional slot for missed people (exceptions may be made depending on the circumstance, but they are just that: exceptions, and not the rule).
  
• Wishing Stars aren't breedings OOC, and colorists have more free reign with them. Additional breeds and traits may be added that the parents do not possess. Otherwise, all edit levels, breeds, and mutant traits can pass, unless otherwise stated.
  
• Prizes in Wishing Stars are considered semi-customs; thus, colorists are free to stream them at any time. If you're getting baskets and want to be surprised, please keep that in mind!
  
• All children granted will be considered a special gift from the Star and labeled as a 1st Gen Mockbreeding Child of the couple. However, you may still throwback to their mock parents' bloodline when entering them in normal breeding slots, even if it's impossible for them to be related by blood (e.g. the seathi Quiyahuatl can throwback to his usdia mother and his angeni father).
  
• IC interpretation is flexible. This means if a female usidia x male usidia win a usdia basket, they can say IC that it was born normally, rather than the result of a star. This also means rogue entries can claim they mated with a random character of the opposite sex, that it was a spirit child between them and another, or that it was a spirit child of them alone. However, it should not go against shop canon; if the female usidia x male usidia received a mer child and they see it as their genetic offspring, it must have come from the star or other spirits rather than being a biological birth. In addition, users are still free to use throwback references, regardless of whether the resulting child is considered canonically related or not.
  
  Editing
  
• If you want to edit the list of usernames in the "Star-Spoken" and "Spirit's Blessing" category, or add or take away the RP/LM modifier, you must void your original entry and repost. You must void and repost if you change categories as well (for instance, pulling a "Star-Spoken" entry to enter a "Long Lost Family Member" instead). When you repost, state that you're voiding the previous entry; otherwise, you may be listed twice and disqualified.
  
• Any other aspects of the form may be freely edited at any time, without reposting.
  
• However, if you post an incomplete form, they will not be added to the list, and we will not be going back to check. You must repost to have your form counted.
  
  Newbies
  
• If you have no pet in the shop, have no fear! You can receive permission to reference other people's pets in most categories. Alternatively, you may make up a human character in the Kawani setting and use that character to enter the "True Friend" and "Loyal Companion" categories.

Star-Spoken

This wish for a child can be made by any who seek parenthood, whose intensity of feeling has been recognized by the star. If your wish is granted, the couple might find a special basket near their home one day.

• Eligible: Relationships that have been roleplayed or LM'd (LM agreements can only be between soquili x soquili pairs or poly groups; agreements between soquili x familiars won't be recognized, as at present time there is no consequence or cooldown if a soquili x familiar LM is broken). If roleplayed, the thread must contain at least 10 posts or 1,000 words to qualify, and the thread must have been started prior to the starting time of this event. The roleplay must support the character's wish, whether it be a roleplay between two characters showing their bond (it does not necessarily have to be a romantic one, so long as they do not despise each other), or a solo roleplay where a character self-reflects on what it'd be like to be a parent (such as for rogue breeding entries).
  These relationships include:
  
  • Soquili x soquili, soquili x familiar, and familiar x familiar pairs or poly groups, regardless of breed, species, sex, or gender.
    
  • Pairs or poly groups involving deceased characters.
    
  • Rogue breedings, where one character (soquili or familiar) is submitted and the offspring has a chance of displaying surprise markings, colors, and traits.

Long Lost Family Member

Does your soquili have family out there somewhere it would like to be reunited with? Wish hard enough, and they may just stumble upon you in the near future!

• Restrictions: Only 1st Gen non-mock breeding pets may enter the Long Lost Family category for non-descendants (such as siblings, parents, and aunts). Otherwise, it implies a breeding of one of the parents or other relatives that is likely owned by someone else, and may interfere with the backstories of their characters. However, a pet of any generation may ask for descendants.
  In addition, any breeds listed must come from the custom thread. Halfbreeds and crossbreeds are fine, although they cannot be skinwalkers. Anything that is not a breed, such as mutant and body type, will not be permissible for an entry. Colorists may opt to add more breeds in the resulting pet, so long as at least one of the listed breeds are included.

Short IC Response:
Nadya looked at the star, having heard of its pull and its mystical powers. She thought of the fires and the floods through which she had lived, and the magnificent star she had seen when it was over. She wondered if that star and this one were one in the same.
Placing the bouquet among the other offerings, she let out a sigh before peering into the heavens. "I miss my family. I miss my herd." She frowned, knowing what she really wished for, but knowing it couldn't be so. Her mother, her sister; she had seen their corpses. She knew nothing would ever bring them back. "If there are any more of us out there... I just wish life could feel like home again." The soft-spoken mare had searched following the disasters that ended her world as she knew it. She had found her father, but nobody else. Could it be true they just never made it out?

What does your character leave as an offering for the wishing star? A wreath of feathers, including the last few feathers he has left from his family.
Short IC Response: Jumaane looked up at the stars high above. One of them was glowing brighter than the rest. He remembered a story he'd heard from the elders of his herd before they left--that the brightest star in the sky listened for the sound of wishes and dreams, and chose some of them to grant. Maybe tonight he would be one of the lucky few...

He climbed to the top of the hill and left the wreath of feathers on the stone. "Wishing Star," he murmured, "it has been years now since I saw my family. They flew off up north, and left me behind, because I couldn't keep up. They said they would come back for me in a couple seasons' time. That was a long time ago. Please...please, I would like to see someone from my family again. I miss them." He nudged the wreath a little. "If you could...they would have colors like these..." He looked up again at the stars and sighed. "I know there are a lot of Soquili like me out there who are wishing on you tonight. I know there are a lot of dreams and wishes and hopes to choose from. Please...choose the best ones. And if that means mine doesn't get chosen..." He shrugged unhappily. "Then mine doesn't get chosen. But someone else's does. And that's...very important. Thank you," he said awkwardly. With another bow of his head, he headed back down to the desert floor.

Anyway...I've been alone for a long time...my little river delta's a pretty big place, and I think it would be...selfish of me to not share it with someone. I know that's a big change for me, but I've had a lot on my mind. I'm trying to change, let people in, stop building a wall between me and the outside world. So...I guess what I'm saying is, if there's some critter out there tonight who's looking for a home, maybe one on a river bank or a beach, one where they could be safe...you can feel free to push 'em my way. My place is open to anyone who needs a place to rest and rejuvenate. I won't mind."

What does your character leave as an offering for the wishing star? Some of his hair, one of his hair feathers, two different colored beads from his necklace, and some of the fur off one of his tails
Short IC Response:

He was toying with his necklace again. Mickey hummed, his large ears flicking and tails twitching, while his paws played with the multi-colored beads. Two of them had come off at some point, and after fixing the whole series of them, he'd found himself holding onto them, finding a strange irony in their presence. They weren't the same color, not by a long shot, and as he stared at them in the growing dark of twilight, he was reminded of a different set of orbs, so different from his own.

Or were they similar? It had been a while, hadn't it?

He looked up to the sky, as something caught his gaze, and watched a star move across the dark expanse above. The fox-like horse drew in a breath, eyes widening. "A wishing star..." He looked at the beads, then one of his tails. After a moment, he grabbed the beads and found a spot, pawing the ground until he'd made a good little hollow to put the beads into. After a moment, he turned and yanked fur off a tail, grimacing, and added it to the hollow, before biting off a piece of his hair with a feather attached to add to the small pile. When he was satisfied, Mickey covered them with a bit of dirt and twigs, then looked back to the sky.

"Wishing star... Can you help my sister find me? I miss her something fierce..." He wasn't one afraid to admit it, and he didn't care if anybody else heard. He missed his sister. Would she come home to him, in the patch of the lands he called home?
