:[VDay 2020]: The Maze of Shadows

2B-B: Go west then south into the darkness and figure out who owns the singular voice and if they need help. (Blush)

The path through the cave was not so bad, at least until it parted ways in which Blush, claustrophobic that she is, had to decide where to go next. This party was definitely not fun and she was going to have word with her mother if she ever gets out of here alive. The pink angel took a deep breath, to ease her shaking nerves; mostly to show a brave front in case anything spooky was going to pop out at her. She was ready! Oh, who was she kidding, she was far from home, far from her mother, and definitely far from anything that resembles decent food. Her tummy was rumbling a bit; the food at the party was not on par with what her mother had mentioned about the Venus-oriented parties.

The first path seemed a bit safer, but she was lured to the second path from which she heard a voice, scared or confused. The voice of her mother chided in her head to help the poor soul. The female rolled her eyes. ”I’m definitrly going to be eaten. Thank you, Mother,” she muttered underneath her breath as she looked towards the second path and gave a nod, moving in that direction with a determined expression upon her face.

Beltan x Xoana choose 3A-A. and go south, looking for a way out

Some of the tension in Beltan's shoulders eased when the complete darkness of the cave lightened enough for him to see shapes, like his hand and the general outline of Xoana next to him. The small bit of relief was quickly replaced with shock, though, when he took a step into some oily substance and slid into a solid wall. He looped his arms around her to take the brunt of the hit and somehow managed to keep his feet under him. At least they hadn't ended up a** over teakettle in whatever was all over the floor..

Sonuva-! Well, it looked like this was as far as they could proceed this way, but the diffuse light gave him a sense of scope to the south that they hadn't yet explored. He had a choice here: turn back and take their chances with the big underground serpent or check to see if there might be a path to the south. Beltan balked at the idea of turning back and bringing Xoana into a situation he already knew was dangerous. Maybe this wasn't just a tunnel that opened up into a dead end cavern and there was a path they hadn't tried, yet. Wanting to be thorough, he turned south.

Bouncing down the path was not fun, not fun at all. Of course he hit a wall, fighting a wall was not what he wanted, he wanted to fight a person.

He grumbled as he rolled to a stop wanted to murder something now more than ever.

His 'partner' started to drag him to the cave. "Sure." He agreed, the screaming wasn't of any interest anyways. Who ever it was, was probably being attacked by something all ready. Oh well he'd find his own thing to fight later.

Xoana clung to Beltan for dear life, sorely, sorely glad that he had the training he did, and was keeping her safe. She did a lot of tripping over her land feet, but eventually she got them solidly underneath her to keep up so he wasn't needing to drag her as much. Until they got to the oil, that was. She slipped in it with a yelp and would have landed squarely on her rear if he hadn't also slipped, grabbed onto her, and slid both of them into the wall.

"Chum!" she swore. "What in the depths was that?" Under different circumstances she might have been embarrassed using such language in front of him--she did want him to think she was a lady, after all--but this didn't seem like the time or place for caring about that.

If you beat Limos, you quickly backtrack the way you came in order to get away from all this nasty business of fighting. You head back north before noticing a path you’ve already taken. Alright, that’s a no brainer, you head west instead then take the turn south. You catch sight of a group of Pae and seems they’ve found a crossroad. What will you decide? (See Mellinae, Phorcys, Beltan & Zoana prompt for your choices!)

You haven’t lost sight of the others just yet! Seems like there are groups of Pae all around you. Who do you think might be the best leader? Those north of you are headed down a hallway that shortly after rumbles. Those south of you have stirred up some yelling. What’s less ominious, ya know!?

Hmmm there is something about this intersection that seems familiar… As you take a look east you notice that that’s where you started this whole thing! How in the world did you get to this point!? Guess now your only option is to move west and meet up with the other group of Pae! (See Mellinae, Phorcys, Beltan, & Zoana’s prompt for your choices)

Mellinae, Phorcys, Beltan, & Zoana (Parker)
The group just manages to start the path south when a slight rumbling on the wall west of them begins. The shadows puppets on the wall freak out and run out of the way as the wall slides down into the ground revealing another path. If you peek around the corner you get hit in the face with the smell of cookies and the sound of giggling. That sounds pleasant, but this IS amaze made by Eris. Could it be a trap? You could always continue your path down south.

A. Take the newly revealed path west.
B. Continue south

Kelpie
Yells are heard south of you while Pae are passing north of you. Do you rush for the safety of numbers or explore where all the noise is coming from?

A. North towards safety!
B. Investigate South

Oriana, Bindi, Jae, & Erminea
You’ve made it safely to the cave, but you’ve seen a ton of Pae taking different directions. What group will you follow? You can hear loud yelling coming south of you while the west path is eearily silent expect for a slight rumbling that eventually stops.

A. Head south towards the yells
B. Head west ‘cause silence is golden, ya?

You’ve managed to chill in the same spot for awhile now despite the ground monster making circles around you. Better get a move on!

[Killa & Ranuin VERSUS Limos | 4 + 6 = 10 -> WIN]

As Killa continued to run while in hysterics, she managed to approach a very riled-up Agony in her way. Her instinct took over and she closed her eyes as she twisted to nail an undisputedly impressive uppercut from below to his chin. Limos was probably seeing stars right about now.

Guess they'd do well to not underestimate this little bunny after all.

And given her short stature and seemingly fragile build, he likely never even saw the blow coming.

After a moment's pause, her adrenaline left her and with it the strength in her legs, causing her to collapse on the spot. Hopefully the male trying to catch up to her would get her back to safety. Luckily for them, the agony had also collapsed and it appeared it would be a while before he got back up.

What the...?

Ranuin had been trying to keep one eye on his surroundings, one eye on the other Pae...he was out of eyes for anything else. He hadn't been able to ignore the poor woman who kept panicking and screaming. He'd been wary at first, her not being a faun and all. But, at least she wasn't an angel or demon. She kind of reminded him of the lady from the village in the woods south of the Tree. Breeheart, if he recalled was the place's name. Except, this lady's ears were longer like a bunny's and...she also had paws, like him.

And he wasn't heartless. The poor thing was terrified. Everyone else seemed more concerned with themselves and paying her no mind. When she screamed and darted off into the darkness like...he was unable to avoid making the comparison to a hunted hare....he grumbled a curse under his breath and pivoted on his paws to follow.

He took in the situation in an instant, eyes widening as he witnessed the small woman clock the terrifying-looking being with an uppercut. Nice form. Reacting quickly, Ranuin rushed forward, giving the stunned Agony a hefty shove backwards while shouting, "Run!" He turned, grabbing the bunny woman's arm and pulling her up onto her feet after him as he retreated back the way they had come.

That was unexpected. Seems it was a trap and their good nature fell for it. They ran into a man who was not nice at all. Seems he was right to be a bit worried about a fight.

But they did it. They were ok. Together. The male let out a tired laugh as they managed to whoop some butt. "Seems I'm a bit better then I thought at fighting." He ran his hand through his hair. They were safe for the moment. Still lost in darkness and shadows but safe for the moment. "Are you ok Rainbow Dash? It doesn't look like there is much else here so let's go. He's going to be angry if he comes back so let's get out of here." Backtracking in the darkness was always fun right?

Ah! They found a group of wandering pae at a junction! They were already splitting up. Hmmm. "Might be the rush we just had but how about that path west?"

Jae was getting bored of this maze. She had made it to the cave, and now she had two more choices. One led to yelling and the other was silent. While the silent path seemed safer, the other seemed... Well, it seemed more interesting. So she headed toward the path with the yelling.

Hauyne was getting restless just sitting around. He figured they had rested long enough.

"Let's keep going north." He suggested as he watched the ground rumble that way. It made the most sense if the ground was moving then that thing was there.

Ignoring the yelling from the south he slithered forward down the hallway.

He hoped what ever other pae where in the area wouldn't get in the way of him fighting the thing. Maybe he could fight one of them?

Nah it was probably best to save his strength for the creature underground.

B. Investigate South

Kelpie wasn't worried about getting safe, she figured she wouldn't be killed no matter what this game was it was likely a big trick which was her wheelhouse. She didn't mind if there were jump scares and weird stuff she would have set it up too if she had the time and gear to make a huge maze to confuse others. She loved tricking others and confusing them, so this was a silly joke to her, not something she needed to run away from. So she was off to investigate South.

mellinae and phorcys continue south

Mellinae had FINALLY gotten control her many, many legs. There had been a few mishaps, but phorcys had been there for it all. Bentley picking her up when she fell, letting her know the use of a "knee". All while on the run. To which she would be forever grateful. Now she could run behind him and also the others in their group. Well, more of a skitter.

They came to a part in their path where the walls began to shake. Grabbing onto phorcys, she gasped. What now? Watching in fear, she witnessed the fall of the wall with terror. The smell of something warm and delicious came thru. She leaned forward and asked Phorcys which path they should take? And suggested they just keep going.

"This has been absolute devil's trap from moment one. Perhaps staying along the current path would be safer. I do not trust this place."
