Bryndis strode through the pride with intent purpose, black paws pounding the earth and powerful muscles rippling beneath her dark coat with each step. Her blue eyes scanned the area as she searched for a particular pride mate - one that really shouldn't be hard to pick out of a crowd. If her own red-and-yellow pelt didn't stand out enough, the bright and intricate one she wore on her back gave Sabia'deimos away. Add in the skull she wore as a mask and she was certainly hard to miss.

The older lioness was impressive at the very least, with a pawful of daunting tales following her wherever she went. Bryndis had also heard that Sabia was a little unstable, which might make her a poor choice of mentor to some, but her mental state did not invalidate her undeniable prowess to Bryn. The crimson-haired Freeborn was looking for someone capable of teaching her to fight and this Valkyrie more than fit the bill. She only hoped Sabia would be willing to take on a pupil.

Spotting the formidable-looking lioness, Bryndis approached with her head high. "Hail, Sabia'deimos! Did you have a minute to talk?"

Sabia'deimos was up before dawn and out of the den. Her companion must have had the same ideas about the day because he was already gone. The prince wasn't loyal, but his absence wasn't a concern for her, he wasn't going anywhere.

The destination she had in mind was simple, but a perfect challenge for the Valkyrie who found herself bound to her home for the time being. She had made no attempt to leave on a viking, but a brief conversation had given her the impression that she wasn't a desirable lioness to bring along. Her gender defined her, but her actions as Captain made having her along a much harder choice. She could almost understand it, not that she wanted to, she wasn't loyal to anyone except for those she birthed - her children were close to everything to her - and herself. Not even her father or siblings had earned her loyalty.

Head in the clouds wouldn't normally describe Sabia'deimos, but that's where she was in the exact moment leading up to her name being called. She was brought back to reality as quickly as she had lost sight of it and took a moment to hold her gaze towards the roguelands. Out there held an endless list of potential lions and here was where they were tested before gaining a home, as well as a new lifestyle. Inhaling slowly she turned her head to peer twin golden eyes in the direction of the voice. As she gazed towards the lioness a pair of ravens caught her eye, they were circling above and probably weren't even looking for her, but they stirred up unresolved anger.

"You may have a moment of my time." Sabia'deimos had her anger under control, much like any other time, it was of little use blindly applied to fits of screaming or hurling herself at something (even if that was her intention of coming here). Her stare didn't linger on the lioness very long before they returned to the pair of ravens, but only briefly.

"Well out with it." Her gaze returned to the lioness and narrowed.

Her own blue eyes narrowed at the unnecessary edge in Sabia'deimos' voice, but it was the only reaction she showed. Bryndis had been fairly warned of the blood-colored lioness' disposition and she took the snap in stride; it wasn't personal and, after all, she was here to ask for a favor. At the brief skyward cast of Sabia'deimos' golden orbs, Bryndis glanced up herself and took note of the ravens. Disdain for their current Warlord flickered in her chest but, otherwise, the dark lioness cared not for the birds and she brought her gaze back to meet her pridemate's.

"I desire combat training from you." A simple, straightforward statement. Bryndis saw no point in beating around the bush with flattery or explanations. The fact that she was asking for combat training was explanation enough that she felt she needed more practice. That she had chosen to ask Sabia'deimos served as any compliment she could have given to the other female's abilities. Thus, any more words would have been nothing but a frivolous waste of both of their time - time which would be much better spent sparring.
