[PRP] Needed Break (Demanthra, Rhiyn, Monath)

Demanthra leaned against her beloved green, glad to have a rest day. It always seemed like she was on the go, either helping with the candidates or doing drills with the rest of her wing, Harbringers. It didn't help that Western had just had a hatching, where they had lost a handful of their candidates. The young woman closed her eyes, trying to decide what they were going to do today.

Maybe we could go for a swim?Monath suggested. Or they could just sit on their ledge and relax, she was good with that too.

Rhiyn had lost some of his friends after Western’s hatching. Well. Lost was probably the wrong word. They hadn’t died. They’d Impressed. Taibbi was fine and healthy, he was sure. But she was missed. Not just by him, either. That girl Ionan tended to fret over was in—no, he couldn’t say that. She was characteristically quiet, but somehow worse.

He was glad for the rest day. He sent his firelizard to Demanthra, picturing the lakeshore. Maybe they could do something?

Demanthra was thinking about Monath's suggestion, when she caught sight of a familiar flit. She allowed the cute dear to land on her shoulder and picked up on the lakeside picture it sent. So it seemed someone had been thinking around that general area as well.

"Seems you are not alone with wanting to spend time at the lake, Monath. Let's send this little one back to Rhiyn with an affirmative then, shall we?"she spoke to her green.

Sounds good to me,Monath replied, sending the mental yes to the flit, before they took off again for their owner.

The firelizard disappeared between at the affirmative. She gave Rhiyn a happy chirp before giving him the answer.

“Thanks!” He smiled. Had Demanthra been thinking the same thing? He wished he had a dragon, messages and questions of whether she had already eaten would have been easier. Did he pack food? Did he head to Demanthra first?

He decided on the latter. He headed towards Dea’s weyr. He’d ask if she wanted to grab something from the kitchens.

Demanthra got to work getting Monath ready for going to the lake. She wondered if she should bring anything with them, having not thought to have the question thought to Rhiyn. She could go to the mess hall to grab some food, but she didn't know if he had eaten. She had not yet, least not since breakfast, which seemed a long time ago.

"We should probably stop by the dining hall, on our way to the lake,"she told Monath.

Yes, because you need to eat yourself,Monath agreed.

Even when they were apart and not communicating, they had similar thoughts. He’d suggest stopping by the kitchens on the way. Maybe they could have a picnic.

Rhiyn reached Dea’s weyr after a while. He waved at her. “Hey, you two,” he said. “Monath, I think it’s finally warm enough to swim. I heard your brothers aren’t there,” he added, looking to Demanthra, “which probably means they are.” He hoped they wouldn’t bother them if that was the case. “Are you hungry? I thought we could stop by the kitchens and get makings for a picnic.”

Demanthra had just finished getting her green ready, when Rhiyn's voice was heard. She looked over to him with a smile on her face, thinking about her brothers as they were mentioned. They could have gone swimming too, but maybe they were busy elsewhere. She was never sure, but hopefully they would be considerate enough to let them have time to themselves.

"I am not sure, but we can hope they stay out of the way. As for food..."she began.

She needs some food. She hasn't had anything since breakfast. And we had been thinking of swimming, before you sent your little flit our way,Monath replied.
