On an average day, Weveneth didn't give much thought to High Reaches politics and hierarchy, but at this moment...
If you want to be dismissed and ignored as soon as you hit your ledge, be sure to choose one of these sweet talkers.
...he was feeling a little sick of bronzes.
The brown beat his wings with all of his strength, making up some of the ground he had lost. He was fairly certain it would hardly matter now.

Her wings burned with the effort as she rose higher and higher, pushing herself to the limits of her stamina. For all her frustration and fury, she was delighting in being chased, in seeing what they would do for her. That they would bleed, and even fight each other, was a source of deep and savage satisfaction. Cusnth practically dragged Zellateth along with him, the brown an anchor weighing him down. It was an impressive display of determination from the bronze, and also filled her with morbid curiosity: would he tear his muscles after all? Perhaps even come away from the experience with bit less of himself? Now there was a thought, and wordless amusement rippled off of her in waves over it. That was certainly something she would like to see!
Regardless, tail or no tail, he and his rival were near to the back of the pack, their squabble having put them at a disadvantage. Aryath was still hanging on gamely, a bit ahead of Weveneth, who was managing well enough despite his injury. As far as flying, anyway, for his words earned a hiss, and she snapped her tail irritably. Who was he to tell her what to choose?! Litanuth yet intrigued, having kept up a good pace all along - as she would expect from a blue! And a fine blue he was, who clearly had a sharp mind. He did have a certain way about him that she appreciated, and yet...
Samodith had grown more and more enamored of a certain silver tongue and the devotions that he offered to her. And he was far, far more than just talk - he had backed it up with skill, again and again, and now followed closest behind. Impressive indeed, for such a large dragon. He was not what - who - she had had in mind when she had left her ledge, but choosing him was not settling. Far from it. In these moments, he was everything that she desired, and it also gave a contrary sort of satisfaction to do what someone had dared tell her not to.
Rizoth, I am ready. Are you? When she had reached as high as her straining wings would take her, she let herself fall, knowing it would be an easy thing for him to catch her. And if her own claws dug in hard, well, she knew he would have no complaints.
