Name: T'kyr [Taesakyr, Tae was her childhood nickname.]
Age: 21 turns
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Lesbian
Weyr: Western Weyr
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: Candidate, Weyrbrat
Physical Description: T'kyr's features and form are elegant and beautiful; she is naturally feminine in appearance. Her thin eyebrows arch gracefully over her narrow, angular eyes. Her full cheeks and slender nose are subtle, but her amber-brown eyes are piercing and sharp. Her complexion is a pale olive in hue, and although her face is a bit long, she is an image of traditionally feminine beauty. She hates it. People assume certain things about her, based on her appearance, and those aren't usually things she likes. As a result, T'kyr avoids makeup, dresses, and anything else especially feminine. If someone mentions she'd look better with one of those things, she'd reply that they'd look better with a black eye, and that she'd be happy to help. Instead, she wears mostly traditionally male clothing. Her style appears rather casual, but she puts time and effort into looking good, by her standards. She favors neutral colors with a flash of brilliant color, and butch styles. The only thing straight about T'kyr is her posture. Her graceful, fluid movements are nonetheless strong and powerful; she moves with confidence, even ferocity. Something about her gait, stance, and energy demand attention. Speaking only makes it harder for others to ignore her--her voice is relatively loud, after all. Just a hair louder, and it might be considered inappropriately so, but as it is, most people just give her annoyed looks. The pitch of her voice is low, and despite its husky quality, feminine. It flows like a river--despite being a bit rough at times.

Although average in height, or perhaps an inch taller, and naturally slender in build, T'kyr works hard at her physical prowess. She's hardly bulky or even stocky, but she takes pride in her firm, lean muscles. As a child, she had a willowy, frail appearance; now that she has matured and worked hard, she no longer looks like a sharp breeze would knock her over. Her hair is a dark shade of brown. Despite not being curly, and not even especially wavy, her hair is thick, boasting a sort of volume that does little but annoy her. She often pulls it back in a ponytail, but has often considered cutting it all off. She carries a belt knife on her at all times. Other accessories, practical or otherwise, include the belt in question, some dark leather gloves, and when the occasion calls for it, her riding goggles.

Personality: a crude and rude woman who hides past hurt behind fierce anger, stubborn rebellion, and intensity.

If there is something decidedly masculine about T'kyr and her mannerisms, it originates as an act of rebellion. For her entire life, T'kyr has balked at being told what to do, at authority figures, at any expectations. In many ways, she is a troublemaker. Not only is she willing to disrespect and talk back to someone if she doesn't like their tone or commands, she is also prone to skipping duties she doesn't see as important or even getting into fights. She loves a good fight, after all--win or lose, physical or verbal, she gets a kick out of fighting with others. That said, these days she is on her best behavior...mostly. At the very least, she fights and argues less often, and bites her tongue when it longs to lash out. For a rider, she is not especially well-behaved, but she's certainly manageable, when fit with the right Wingleaders. Thankfully, she takes thread very seriously--and things that she takes seriously? They always. Get. Done.

If anything can be said about T'kyr, it is that she stands her ground--stubborn or tenacious, she never gives an inch if she believes in something. As an opinionated woman who always has something to say, T'kyr will get her point across by any means necessary, even if it means interrupting or speaking over someone who is clearly just too stupid to understand. Confrontational, she has no problem dealing with things directly. She's blunt and honest, even if (and sometimes especially if) it would cause issues in the relationship. In some ways, she seems to thrive off discord and friction. Even worse, she seems drawn to danger and threatening situations. T'kyr finds it exhilarating. While she's not a complete idiot about it, she's still a thrillseeker who loves the adrenaline coursing through her veins.

Of course, T'kyr is an intense person, and this is especially true in relationships. She's prone to very passionate, tumultuous relationships that meet a nasty end. Her feelings are very black-and-white, and when they aren't, she is not aware enough to recognize that she is ambivalent about something. For example, while she still harbors some sort of feelings for her ex, the animosity and rivalry is so strong that it is all that she sees. Competition is, in general, prevalent with T'kyr. She gets too invested in anything she sees as a competition, and will do whatever it takes to "win." And naturally, she won't back down from something she views as a challenge. Determination and hard work, focus and persistence--these are some of her strongest qualities. She is willing to fight tooth and nail for what she wants. Unfortunately, she doesn't usually funnel this into things that others see as useful, with the exception of fighting thread, which she takes extremely seriously.

T'kyr's sense of humor is sarcastic, and her brand of sarcasm can be a bit rude. She thinks it's funny, both to herself and others, if she insults others. It's relatively playful, and with good intentions. She likes messing with people, and is a generally teasing person. If she upsets someone, she may awkwardly apologize, if she cares about them. While she doesn't particularly care about people who are outside of her circle of loved ones, she is fiercely caring, and even protective, towards those she loves. Not that she's not going to call them on their annoying traits and give them a hard time, of course!

T'kyr has been hurt by others in the past, including during some of her more tumultuous friendships and relationships. As a result, she closes her emotions off from others. She absolutely refuses to ever be hurt again, so she puts up a wall between herself and others. If she feels backed into a wall, she will fight like a cornered feral animal. Deep down, she is afraid of being hurt, and harbors quite a bit of past hurt, which has all built up. It roils within her, carefully bottled up, and only coming out to express itself as anger. That said, she is resilient, in her own way, and it takes quite a lot to get her to feel truly down. For those who she thinks have wronged her, she will plan her revenge. Petty and prone to holding grudges over very small, stupid things, she often wants to "get back at" numerous people at once.

While not usually bothered about people's perceptions of her, there are times that she feels hurt by how few people seem to like her. Of course, it's the carefully crafted attitude she's made, the way she's funneled all of her pain into rebellion and anger and hate. Deep down, she does care. Deep down, she is hurt and upset and painfully angry. She doesn't let that show, and she doesn't even realize that she feels this way on a conscious level. She knows she has a temper, sure, but she doesn't realize it goes deeper, that she has pangs of sadness and hurt just like everyone else. She's so determined not to feel sad and sorry for herself that she lashes out at anyone in the way. She feels as though she has become this person because of the difficulties she's had in life. Who rests beneath the rage and distrust, she doesn't know. Regardless, she doesn't have many issues in the way of self-esteem. In fact, she can be smug and arrogant, believing that she is right, even when she isn't.

Despite having a vicious temper, she is usually sarcastic and teasing, but relatively calm. Argumentative, maybe, but she doesn't seem especially bothered by people. She acts very casual--a bit coarse, rough around the edges, but certainly not picking a fight with every person who walks by. Additionally, she won't lash out at someone who is crying or depressed.

Her intensity mirrors itself in all aspects of her life. Everything is done intensely. She is often a bit much for others, refusing to back down, or demanding answers directly. Be it loving or fighting, she goes big, and never goes home. Despite everything, she is an extrovert and enjoys being around people, albeit in a "probably going to make fun of you" way. Naturally, her reputation of tumultuous relationships, fighting, and temper issues makes many avoid her. She is quick to cut others out of her life if they upset her, so she has few friends, old or new.

Positive Trait List passionate, dedicated, determined, playful, strong, resilient
Negative Trait List confrontational, troublemaker, blunt, temper, rude, distrustful
History: Tae, as she was called in her youth, was a surprisingly cheerful, happy-go-lucky child. Her parents, Etae and Morsakyr were loving, and her younger sister, Kyrsae, was close to her. One turn apart in age, Kyrsae and Taesakyr were inseparable. They went by Tae and Sae, and looked similar enough that they would be confused for each other, if someone was not familiar enough with them. They lived at Western Weyr, and held scorn for High Reaches Weyr, for its foolish ways. Clearly, thread was not returning anytime soon, what was the point of being so...archaic, rigid, traditional?

Despite her happy childhood, Tae never liked being told what to do. Sure, she was loved by her parents--and maybe that even encouraged her, knowing that it was safe to act out. She disliked authority, but as she aged, she'd learn to listen when it mattered.

She was always prone to intense relationships. Even with her sister, she spent all of her time with Sae, up until she was 13, when the two had a spat. Sae had shared one of Tae's secrets--about a girl she'd liked--without realizing it was, in fact, a secret. Tae was livid, and refused to speak to her. She ignores Sae, who didn't Impress yet, to this day.

Her friendships and romances, as well, were tumultuous. Intense, infatuated emotion was followed by fights and arguments, and eventually, a hatred for each other. It was the natural cycle for Tae, and she blamed others for it, refusing to accept the nagging feeling that there was something wrong with her. She couldn't give in to depression. She wouldn't.

She became a candidate as soon as she could, but didn't Impress until she was 18. Rivaeth was the only one she could trust. Despite the pair having their differences, to say the least, they were very important to each other.

After Weyrlinghood, she met a young woman around her age, Robhin. A fellow whiterider, the two bonded during Robhin's weyrlinghood and were good friends--T'kyr even had a crush on her. About two turns after they'd met--after Robhin's graduation graduation--they got together, but they had a nasty breakup a turn later. Nasty things were said on both sides--hurtful, accusing, and yelling. T'kyr felt betrayed, by the woman she'd felt so much love for. She became rougher, and even more defensive, when the woman she'd called the love of her life, left her.

Ever since, she has had a strong rivalry with Robhin, always trying to one-up her ex. There is some animosity and bad blood between them, with T'kyr having feelings that are more confusing than she thinks. With thread returning, T'kyr feels that she has to do her best in threadfall, even if it means breaking formation (rarely) to do a heroic yet risky maneuver. She has to do better than Robhin. In the tragedy of thread, her weyrfolk parents and sister were fine; but it was still difficult for T'kyr, who felt she should have done more, somehow. She should have believed High Reaches...

Other: Robhin is her animosity ex. Prefer her in the same wing as Robhin, if possible. > smile

T'kyr is likely difficult, but she can be managed by supervisors who understand her and gain her respect.

Dragon
Name: Rivaeth
Age: 3 turns [3571.03.27 - Killakeeth x Ansheth at western]
Color: White [#cdd4cf]
Size: 13.5'
Physical Description: Rivaeth is small, even for a white dragon. Petite and dainty in build, she looks a bit delicate, even. She is beautiful, to be sure--a wisp of a dragon, slender, with pretty features. She is not as fragile as she looks; that said, she is a bit weaker and has less endurance than some whites, due to her size, but she makes up for that with strong maneuverability and speed. Her hide is a creamy shade of white, with darker, elegant markings.
Personality: For T'kyr's roughness and crudeness, there must be a counterpart; Rivaeth is proper and ladylike, even a bit overly formal, with a passive, quiet sort of personality. Feminine, to be sure, she prefers intellectual pursuits, due to her lack of physical strength. She is sensitive, with strong emotional intelligence, but rarely shows vulnerability to anyone but T'kyr, or a trusted dragon. She is stronger than she seems, and will fight ferociously to protect her loved ones. She is an encouraging shoulder to cry on, a supporting ear to listen, and fierce fangs to fight for others--but only if need be. She'd rather be the soft, quiet, passive dragon that is true to her personality, but when the need arises...she will be there to stand up for those she loves. As a result, she fights thread with determination.

That said, Rivaeth is generally pleasant and easy to get along with. She is passive, rather than assertive, but likes other dragons and people, and tries to be friendly to everyone. She is sweet and polite, if not a bit quiet, and generally a pure and moral soul. A bit soft, she is not the sort to raise her voice--even if she has to stand up for someone else. Again, assertiveness is not her strong suit--but she will force herself to stand up for others, should they be wronged.

Rivaeth does not mind hard, dirty work, but she is a relatively clean dragon, who only endures it because she is dutiful, and it is what she must do. That said, she is not vain--she wants to be clean, and look her best, but she is not overly focused on that. It is simply a polite way to present herself, is it not?

Her mindvoice is delicate, soft, and willowy. She sounds almost timid as she speaks, but this dragon is stronger than she sounds. Her voice does not waver, and sounds very deliberate.
