A couple weeks had passed since she'd first arrived here. Desdemona still wasn't happy about being here, but... at least she had stopped verbally attacking everyone. She had even conceded to doing some of the Thrall chores, though she mentally told herself it was to take the load off of Thulile's shoulders.. at least a bit. She would never admit that it had more to do with an earlier confrontation with Hjalmar than anything else.
At the moment, the lioness was dragging a few pelts outside to shake out. Honestly, Hjalmar was more of a lazy lug than anything else! Yes, he was recovering and she had assumed that it was due to melancholy over his eye (hmph, in her opinion, he deserved it) but now that some time had passed, he had instead moved to disappearing at odd times of the day!
Which was a mixed blessing, to be fair. It meant that she was left relatively alone, aside from Thulile, and she didn't mind the other lioness' company, skittish as she was. No, the problem came in the fact that he left such a mess for them to clean up.
She grumbled quietly to herself as she started brushing the dirt and grime away from the furs. Did they not teach their Reavers to take care of their own home? No wonder they catch Thralls if they can't take care of it themselves!

While the dark Thrall had at first been scary and intimidating, Thulile had come to enjoy having someone else around. Hjalmar was out and about more frequently as of late, leaving her alone at the den. At least now she'd have some one to talk to even if Desdemona complained about the work and grumbled under her breath from time to time. She could understand why, of course, so she never said a word against it.
Humming to herself, Thulile returned from the hunting grounds with a bit of blood still on her paws and maw. She had taken part in a hunt to bring in a large kill and once the other Thralls had taken their share, she had pulled off a decent sized leg to bring back to Des. Hjalmar was out and it was just the two of them, so this would be more than enough.
She spotted her fellow Thrall outside the den cleaning some pelts and she quickened her pace a bit, glad that she hadn't finished the work yet. She would definitely help her out!
"Wow, you've got a lot done," she said as she set down the zebra leg, peering into the den. "Looks like you've done most of it, actually."

Her ear flicked towards Thulile as she arrived, but Des continued with her work until the other Thrall spoke to her. Pelt still grasped in her mouth, she turned and raised an eyebrow at her, before kind of awkwardly shrugging and letting the pelt drop by her feet so she could speak.
"I guess," she snorted, "maybe it just looks that way because the den has become a mess ever since Hjalmar," she refused to call him Master, "came back." She chose to ignore that he technically came back with her and having three lions all living in a den did tend to make things messier than usual.
Shaking her head, Desdemona looked over at the zebra leg and hummed, "Good hunt, I see?"

Well, she wasn't going to turn down a meal, that was for sure. If there was anything she'd learned while living with her caravan in the rogue lands, it was that you should never turn down food.
So the lioness threw a grateful smile (though it sort of looked more like a smirk, coming from her) at Thulile before walking over, the pelt she was working on cleaning left abandoned to the side for now. It was going anywhere, and she doubted that it would get any dirter just laying there.
"Thanks, I appreciate it." She paused before leaning down to dig in, tilting her head at the other lioness, "Have you already eaten?"

Des eyed her for a moment before shrugging and turning her head to start eating, making a mental note to leave half of it for her. Sometimes she wondered how the other lioness could be so patient about everything, so submissive, but then she'd realize that honestly, she wasn't sure she wanted to learn how, and she would push the thought from her mind. One of these days, she should try to teach Thulile how to have a backbone.
She grunted at her next comment, mouth full of meat that she needed to swallow before she could answer back. Finally, with a gulp, the gray lioness shrugged, "I've gotten some of it, but certainly not all of it." She wasn't even sure it was possible so long as the male Reaver chose to laze about.
Desdemona got lost her in thoughts, simply leaning down to gnaw on her food from time to time, but then turned a look back at Thulile, silently nudging the leg closer to her as well in offer.

The thrall flicked an ear as she watched the other lioness take a small bite, but didn't think too much about the tiny portion she took. She wasn't about to force Thulile to grab more than she was comfortable with.
Instead, she simply hummed in response to her statement about what was left to clean, chewing slowly on the morsel in her mouth. It didn't sound like too much to do, though Des still felt grudging about the whole thing. Maybe if they got these things done fast enough, the two girls could actually enjoy their evening doing whatever they wanted. Not that either would really wander around the pride, of course, but some relaxing after a hard day's work sounded nice. Hjalmar hopefully wouldn't be home until much later.
So, with that in mind, Des swallowed the last of her food and then stood, sighing, "Well, let's get this over with."
