Day 42 Theme: Villain Nimble fingers gently caressed the heated ceramic teacup in retreat while steam perfumed the air with the scent of Earl gray. In the hush of the study, the author seated herself properly at her cluttered desk as a Maestro might take the podium before the orchestra. The thrill she felt as her hands rose to the sleek black keys of her laptop she considered akin to a grand performance and here was her encore! Perhaps this was as she came to creating the magic she wrote about..
The decaying house creaked and groaned as it settled upon its crumbing foundation around her. This once proud home fell to ruin the day she arrogantly took that dare. It unwittingly had been the catalyst to her downfall.. She had been caught red handed in her thievery and punished without mercy by a curse. Long had Anari stubbornly been fighting the good fight in hope of changing her destiny. She insisted she could break this free, it didn’t have to consume her! But, she grew exhausted and weary as every solution failed her.
Slumping against the wall, the witch heaved a sigh before she slid to the floor. A bitter scuff escaped her as a smirk played at the corner of her full lips. She was down to the midnight hour, clinging on to a shred of herself, and here she doubted anyone would miss her. Well, maybe her cat? No, even that would be expecting too much.. Her heavy eyes became impossible to keep open any longer and soon fell closed over her crimson eyes. She just needed to rest, that’s all.
It was from the inky depths of Anari’s soul that the curse rose, intent on claiming its prize. Raw magic glisten and gleamed as it sapped from her until it had enough to form. The mass shifted and morphed until it became a glistening black beast. In her view, it was as though her nightmare had been given true form. “Once, I had hoped you’d surrender willingly to me.” It hissed in a voice course as gravel. “We could have ruled together, witch, side by side.” It bared a frightening grin filled with sharp teeth. “Now, I think I’ll just claim you and be done with it.” Anari would wake with a gasp, her wide crimson eyes flickered. The hue shifted and changed to brilliant golden amber. A wide, wicked smirk spread across her lips right as the pupil was swallowed behind the color.
The tap tap of the author’s key strokes slowed as the page blurred and wavered. Her brow furrowed and, before she realized, hot tears spilled down her cheeks. She blinked as she returned to her reality, her heart ached. “What have I done?” The author whispered. Anari would be no more and she was the villain responsiable..
Comments: Working on it still~
