It was early evening, cool but not cold, little to no wind. Aprife took note of his surroundings as he checked his setup one more time, from one rope to another, making sure nothing had been chewed or otherwise destroyed by wildlife in the few nights it had been out here. Yesterday he'd met with Luxara near the edge of Salamire and asked for her help testing something out. All he'd given her was a time and instructions on how to get here. Everything else would be a surprise.
He waited for her now, some distance from the village where the ground was no longer swampy but the trees were still thick. Luxara was well versed in forest travel and tracking, Aprife knew. Whether she made it on time or not, he assumed she'd find her way eventually.
"Good to go," he muttered to himself, then took up defensive position in the nearby brush where he thought she wouldn't immediately notice him. Most of his plans hinged Luxara being unaware, at least to a point.

Luxara wasn't an idiot. She was long past that young teen reputation. Aprife telling her to help but not saying what for? Pretty dang telling that he had something up his sleeve. She looked forward to whatever was waiting for her. The greenblood could only guess that it wouldn't be something bad; everyone had sobered up since the Kursha thing, so it wasn't like Aprife was asking her to meet him because of some skeevy business. Probably.
And it wouldn't be to take her out for her connections to Kursha because everyone had plenty of time to get that taken care of, and now she had an infiltration card, so why bother with that if she had a mark on her back? That would be a long game for no good reason.
So she arrived not too terribly paranoid, even seeing that, well, there was no Aprife to be seen. All right. Well, just to soothe hunter nerves screaming 'trap', she hopped up into the trees for the time being. If for some ungodly reason he was late, she could get a good fun spook later.
