A rocky ledge in the central living area had been the chosen perch of the scruffy looking silver raven. Judeau, the god of penance hiding in raven form, sat with his wings folded at his side, eyes narrowed as he watched the activity below him.
He had chosen a perch high enough to be out of reach of each the largest of lion paws, a rocky ledge sturdy enough that it could not be pushed over as a tree might have been. Certainly his dark friend was nearby, either sleeping in his own den or with whatever lady he had chosen to spend the evening before with. Hmph, knowing Ciro, he was probably trying to flirt with Ngaule again.
Judeau could not have answered why he had risen so early this morning, the sun not quite cresting over the horizon of the stormy land. Perhaps a nitemare of his past had broken his sleep, and he had been unable to return to rest. Something had caught his attention, a flash of purple that sparked a memory he wished he could forget.
The raven shook his head, his feathers ruffling as he tried to clear his head. A deep sigh, he tried closing his eyes, hoping to drift back to sleep.

The sound of movement caught his attention, shaking away whatever hope of sleep may have lingered. The raven grumbled, trying in vain to drown out the noise, his eyes closing tightly as if it would somehow help. Who the hell was being so noisy so early in the morning? Couldn't they see there were other's trying to sleep?!
At last Judeau opened his eyes, wings outstretched to fly from his perch, prepared to tell off whoever was making such a racket. Blue eyes narrowed as he landed in the lioness' path, the look of annoyance turning from annoyance to recognition, he knew that lioness, all too well. For a short time he had called her friend, until the day she showed her true intentions and tried to murder him.
He stared at her a moment, his fury and rage burning. His gaze fell on the object around her neck, that was his, his horn! How dare she keep that, it was his! Wait, had the raven just GROWLED? Yes, yes he did.

The raven's eyes narrowed, glaring angrily at the purple lioness. She had ignored him, walked right past without sparing him a second thought, of course she had. She did not know him, so far as she knew he was just another raven, not the god of penance she had tried to murder and left for dead.
His feathers ruffled, a piercing and angry caw, loud enough to echo ominously off the rocks across the rocks of the cliffs. Judeau was in the air again, flying above the lioness before diving toward her head, another loud caw against her ears. Talons lashed out, clawing at her eyes as each caw reverberated, wings flapping angrily.
A part of him thought of taking his true form, of using the strength of his true form to show her just how she had failed before extracting the ultimate price. But it was not in him to do such an act, even against one who had tried to claim his life. But if an angry raven was the last thing she saw? That might satisfy his sense of vengeance.

Judeau reached for the chord around her neck that held his horn, catching it with his talons, wings beating as he pulled against it against her neck. That belonged to him, she had no right to keep it! It was his horn, and he intended to take it back! Another hard tug, an angry caw before he was forced to release his grip, retreating out of reach of her talons.
Leaving a few feathers behind, Judeau flew away from the lioness before turning back, his wings beating as he hovered just out of her reach. There was a grim satisfaction in the angry smirk he short her, seemingly pleased at the eye he had ruined. It was not the same as a horn, but it was a start.
"I know who you are, and I will see to it that you pay the price for what you're done."
There was a shimmer around the raven, a surge of unnatural energy as he stared down the lioness. The force of his cry was louder than any before, piercing through her ears with vengeance and fury. The weight of the energy that now surrounded the lioness was overwhelming, the air crackling ominously as dust swirled around her paws.
Enjoy your karma, you murderous b***h.
Alpaca Chobi curse of the penitent - A curse that brings misfortune and bad karma as punishment for misdeeds. These may start out small (losing a hunt, tripping over a rock, getting lost, etc) and grow in severity (serious injury, deadly attack or illness, tree falling on you, rejection/loss of pride or family, etc). The individual will suffer increasing misfortune as time goes on. The power of this curse is directly proportional to the severity of the individual's misdeeds.

Judeau only watched the lioness with narrowed eyes, fury burning in his gaze. She would never know who or what he was, or why his anger burned so fiercely. But she would remember, this day and this moment, she would remember the raven. And from this moment on, every misfortune, every tragedy that she met, she would be reminded of the innocent she had struck down and the life she had shattered.
"You have failed, and I am not afraid of you."
A last glare, the raven spread his wings, taking to the air once more. As he circled, he may or may not have dropped at rock from his talons directly over the lioness before flying off to return to his own den, leaving the lioness alone with only her thoughts.
