Biography
tab • • 》 Mei mei ( who around their family goes by their childhood nickname on the simple account that it was given to them at birth) was born the third child to Carlos Li and Andrea Montes, two socialites of South America's upper class. Raised as a socialite Sky's short life has been one without much strife, albeit a bit confining due to the culture and society they were born to. Sky and their siblings were all home schooled by governess, however they were also taught social skills and proper etiquette which were polished off by the many social functions which their mother hosted for other socialites and their children. Raised in both cultures Sky's family visited their relatives abroad (their father's parents hail from China while the Montes hail from Chile and Europe) often.
As a child of socialites Sky was put in several clubs and activities that were considered proper for a child of their gender and status.
Sky was the perfect child, cultured proper and bright. They had big shoes to fill, with their eldest brother working as an attorney in their grandfather's firm and their eldest sister studying abroad to be a designer.
their main interest however had always laid in pokemon, something their parents had done their best to discourage. Sky didn't mind giving up their interest and was content to fulfill the roles their parents gave them, due to their privileged life and the fact that like most children Sky loved their parents and wanted to keep them happy.
It wasn't until Sky's 10nth year that this life experienced a subtle( or perhaps not so subtle) change. Coming out to their parents about their gender identity was never something Sky planned to do, but pretending to be something they weren't was simply becoming too much. All Sky wanted was some room to explore their gender identity but between culture and class Carlos and Andrea could barely tolerate their child's newer 'quirks' much less support them (what would people think?)
Sky's parents decided a change of scenery would do their child good and decided to send Sky to their eldest son's house in Hoenn.
The culture shock hit Sky hard along with the suspicion that the parents they had tried so hard to please were trying to keep them out of mind and out of sight due to their child's revelation.
Unable to see his Mei Mei smile less and less Sky's brother decided to research something that would please everyone. He stumbled upon Ordell Academy. Being a prestigious academy Sky's parents were 'passingly' okay with it. With a hug to their wonderful ñaño Sky was off to a place where hopefully they would be accepted.
