[prp] altered state of mind (Nyoge x Saar)

He was bored, terrifically bored. So bored that he thought the sweet embrace of death might be more welcome than this lack of interest in almost everything he'd thought of as way of curing his boredom. What was the point? What he wanted was power and glory... but it had become very apparent that he was getting neither of those things. He'd tried out so many different plans... they had unraveled every single time. Unfortunate.

His tail gave a thump on the ground. What was . there now? He heaved a long sigh before he slowly pulled himself back up to his paws, ears half lowered as he sluggishly made his way to one of Saar's favorite spots. Saar was supposed to be his ticket to all the answers... yet he'd been about as helpful as all of Nyoge's plans had been successful. He hadn't.

Oddly... it hadn't made Nyoge cast the weird idiot aside. If anything Nyoge found himself seeking out Saar more so for the familiar comfort, having long since been able to ignore Saar's eccentricities. "Saar?" He called out, squinting at the form in the distance.

The dark hyena was rolling around in the dirt, right underneath one of the large tusks in the graveyard. It was a typical spot the male would hang out, cackling to himself as thoughts entered and left his mind. He had a particular itch, and the rolling only seemed to help it slightly. Stupid fleas.

Saar chewed on his front paw, pulling the dark hair from the follicle, leaving bald patches throughout the limb. His dark eyes shifted up at the sound of his name, a sneer on his maw. Who dare interrupt him?

When his gaze settled on the approaching form, the crazed seer sneer turned into the widest grin.

"Nyooooggeeeee." The male said in his normal sing song voice as he trotted over to his friend. "And heeeree I thought you had been ignorring meeee, buddy!" A grin, a cackle, the normal Saar response.

Nyoge could already feel the phantom itch of fleas jumping through his fur, a side affect of spending any amount of time with Saar. He would be lucky to come away flea free, seeing as he was committed to spending more than five minutes near the other male. As Saar's words sing-songed into the air Nyoge snorted, "Of course I haven't been ignoring you!" But he had, he'd been avoiding Saar for a while now because he'd been severely wrong thinking that Saar had been his ticket to great success and power. To rub salt into his wounds somehow this idiot had up and knocked up some female and had offspring... what sort of wretch would choose Saar over Nyoge? His pups hadn't had the same gifts as their father, as far as he knew.

"You're not busy, are you?" It was high time he formulated some sort of new plan, if his old one wasn't working. Besides... it sort of itched him the wrong way, thinking some other hyena would end up coming in and taking up all of Saar's time.

If Saar didn't believe the blue male, it was hard for him to see. There was always some type of crazed look in the male's face that made interpreting what was on his mind difficult.

"Goooood. Saar would be VERY sad if his bestest buddy Nyoooogeee was ignoring him." Saar also had a tendency of speaking in third person when referencing himself on occasion.

The hyena seemed to be lost in thought at his question. "Busy? Nahh not since the brats grew up." Sure he had shacked up with a female for a night, and ended up with pups from the shenanigans, but they had since long grown. Saar took a moment to rub his body against Nyoge's. If his friend didn't have the sand fleas, he was sure to get them now.

"Whhhhyyy? What do you have in mind?" A devious smirk flittered to Saar's mind.

Nyoge wondered how many other hyenas found Saar to be absolutely insufferable. He tried to recall a time that he'd felt much the same about the flea-ridden mongrel. He squinted when he came up short. He was sure there had been a time... and honestly Saar annoyed him almost every time the two met up. But he wasn't ... somewhere along the lines he was no longer insufferable. He was just Saar. He snorted at Saar's response, though his mind was mostly wandering to bringing Saar swimming or ... hmm. Would bathing in mud then letting it dry kill off any of the fleas? He wasn't sure.

Nyoge absolutely froze, muscles tense, as the sick b*****d was suddenly u against him in an act of familiarity. Again, not something Nyoge would have minded so much had Saar been flea free. He let out a long suffering sigh, his body slowly and almost hesitantly coming to relax. "There is no plan yet, Saar. But there will be. The stale air of affairs is chocking me." He frowned, green eyes rolling over his ... his friend. What they needed was something dead! "Come on." Nyoge was on his feet again, bumping Saar with his shoulder in an almost playful manner. Hey, he already had the fleas now... there wasn't even any questioning it.

Saar hmphed. No plan yet? Well that just sounded like a bore. If they didn't have a plan, why should Saar even think about going? He was perfectly content right here, rubbing the itches away on the dust and old tusk bones from the fallen elephants.

While normally the male would instantly follow the other, he paused, as if thinking. "It is not like Nyooogeee not to have a plan." The seer stated, his dark eyes rolling in his head. "Fine." He finally breathed out, following the male after the light shoulder bump.

"Saar has missed Nyoooggeee." The hyena cackled. "Nyoooggeee should visit Saar more often. They could have such a fun time together." Saar sang, grinning more to himself than anything.
