[Matori] Burning Twigs [Dovi/Shura/Thea/Kiel]

Dovian gave a yawn as he stretched out. He and the family were back in Matori, though this time without the snow. It was something of a thing now that they made frequent trips to the ocean front land. His father had land holdings in Matori and his mother liked the change in scenery. Then there were his younger siblings, they seemed to like the water. Dovi didn't understand why.

Before he was done stretching he felt little hands reaching up and rolled his eyes. Without looking he reached down and picked up the child that had come seeking his attention. "Thea... go figure." He held his little sister off to one side so that he had at least one hand free. "Did you need something?"

She spotted her older brother and moved over to e picked up. Theanduri didn't like having to do things on her own. Not that she couldn't, she just liked being spoiled. Once she was picked up and held the little girl rested her head on Dovian's shoulder then shook it. "Nope." Her answer was matter of fact.

Thea hadn't needed or wanted anything more than what she was getting. Which was her way. Turning her head so that she could look around she started to search for her little brother. Kiel was only a year or so younger than her but she acted as if there were many more years than that between them. She shoved her thumb into her mouth as she rested where she was and then mumbled. "Shu. Ke."

Kiel was currently holding onto Shura's hands, swinging on them, while starring up at her with big, green eyes, and asked, "Can I have the monster we saw?" Maybe if he asked cutely and used his big, 'radaku eyes' as they had been called before, then maybe she would go catch the 'monster' for him? It looked so cute! He wanted it.

Instead of getting her to agree or even to disagree she just squatted down to scoop him up, balancing him on her hip, and continued forward. The two of them were seeking out their other two siblings at the moment. Maybe once they all gathered together then they would be able to monster catch? He hoped so. If anyone would do it then it would be Shura... but since she wanted to check on their brother Dovian they would have to wait.

"Monsters later then, Shu?" He asked in a hopeful manner.

Shura starred down at Kiel as he mentioned wanting a 'monster' that he'd seen and she could only imagine what it was that he'd seen. It couldn't be something like Anhalo because they were referred to by Shura as either zanteer or more frequently 'water kitties' so it had to be something else. There were a lot big, hulking beasts that lived in Matori such as snaptrotters, bushi, and even bigger things like yaotls so she could only imagine what her baby brother was asking for.

"We can find monsters later." She said after picking him up, giving him a snuggle and a kiss on the top of the head, "I want to figure out where Dovi and Thea are first, to make sure that they aren't getting into trouble. As the oldest it's by job to keep all of you in line when our parents are at work after all." Something that she was very serious about since it meant protecting everyone with her literal bare hands.

After a moment of looking around she spotted the other two and went trotting over to them at a quickened pace, "There you two are! Good! I was curious what you might be up to." Turning she gave a whistle, calling in Anhalo who had been running around, kicking up sand a short distance from them. She gave a laugh when she saw him carrying a shell in his mouth, "Awww, look! He brought a present! What a good kitty he is."

Dovian frowned when his little sister stuck her thumb in her mouth. "You're too big for that." He scolded her gently. Though it didn't appear that she cared about what he said.

When he heard Shura he looked toward her and lifted one shoulder up slightly. "Not much to do. My forge is in Oba." Well, his mentor's forge anyways. "Thea is back to acting like a baby." Dovian gave a pointed look to the little girl he held and the thumb she had in her mouth.

Her nose scrunched up when she was scolded by her older brother. Theanduri gave a little grunt but otherwise ignored him.

Instead, her attention was snagged by the sight of her big sister coming toward them with their little brother in tow. "Ke." Thea reached out her free hand toward him but made no other attempts to reach for him. She didn't even try to get down from Dovian's arms.

Then she heard Dovi call her a baby and she lifted her head up off his shoulder to glare at him. "No 'mm noth." She spoke with hr thumb still in her mouth.

Kiel looked over at his other two older siblings, giving a wave to them, before he looked up at Shura and said, "Alright! Found them. Monsters now, Shu?" The way he saw it they had found Dovian and Thea and now that they had it meant that the two of them should be able go and try to find that monster that he'd seen earlier, right? That was what he wanted at least.

He didn't get an answer right away so he looked over at Dovian, wondering if maybe his big brother would take him to find it. Or maybe they should all go together? That would be fun but... maybe not? Thea did look a bit sleepy the way she was laying her head on Dovian, sucking her thumb. Giving a curious sound he asked, "Sleepy Thea?"

"We should wait on playing hide and seek with 'monsters' until later, Kiel. Especially if Thea actually is sleepy and in need of a nap." Walking closer she reached out with the free hand that wasn't holding onto Kiel to ruffle Thea's hair and asked, "Are you sleepy, Thea? Do you want to lay down for a nap?"

Looking up to Dovian she asked, "Do you want to trade?" Best to see if he wanted to take Kiel instead since it seemed as though he might be getting a little grumpy at Thea for acting a bit like a 'baby' at the moment for sucking her thumb. Maybe not what she should be doing since he was a bit older then Kiel but better that then wanting to go find monsters. She didn't want her baby brother getting his hopes up when they didn't even know what 'monster' it was that he wanted as of yet.

It hadn't dawned on him that his baby sister was tired and that was why she was sucking on her thumb. Dovian looked at her and gave a thoughtful sound before he looked toward Shura. "You don't mind?" He wasn't the best choice for cuddles, even less so when he felt grumpy. Not wanting Shura to take back her offer to trade he started to hand Thea over.

His eyes went to Kiel then. "What's this about monsters?" Now he was curious as to what his baby brother was talking about. Had Shura taken him to see some beast or another? Given how protective his twin was he doubted it. "Don't you think we have enough 'monsters' around here?" He joked. "Shu's fat cat eats plenty." Dovi smiled as he motioned for Kiel to come to him in place of Thea.

Thea turned her attention to Kiel and shook her head. She wasn't tired, she just didn't want to do anything. When the trade happened she didn't complain, so long as she was being held and getting attention she didn't care which of her siblings it was. Her long ears perked when she heard mention of monsters and she turned her gaze to her little brother. "No monsters for Ke." Her thumb had come out of her mouth for that.

Giving her attention to Shura she frowned a little. While a nap sounded nice she wasn't tired. "No, can we go to the water?" Theanduri was hopeful that her sister would give in to her wish.

Kiel gave a happy sound as he found himself traded over to Dovian, hugging his big brother tightly, and then looked out in the direction of the water, "Yeah! Monsters! Let's go find them." He said, clapping his hands together in a delighted manner. Surely now that he had all of his siblings together then they would be able to go and do this! It was quite exciting if you asked Kiel... well, exciting so long as he got help that was. He didn't want to go alone, that was boring.

It was a shame that nobody else seemed to be wanting to go with. Maybe that meant not going after any monsters? A shame. It seemed that Dovi especially didn't want anymore because they already had Shu's 'fat cat'. He looked over at Anhalo before he gave a smile, "He is a cute kitty! But the monster wasn't a water kitty, Dovi."

Looking over at Thea he gave a pout when she said 'no monsters for him' and gave a pout, "Come on... Thea! Yes monsters for me!"

Shura gave a bit of a laugh as she took Thea from Dovian, pressing a kiss to the top of her little sister's head, and said, "If you want a nap you can take one. Dovi and I will sit down at you can nap in my arms and Kiel can sleep on Dovi." She didn't actually think that it would be as easy as all of that but she might as well make the offer.

After shifting Thea so she could then point at Dovian with one hand she said, "Anhalo is a good water kitty and he isn't fat! Or at least he wouldn't be a bit chubbier then he should if mom didn't give him snacks all the time..." She did wonder if Anhalo was going to end up as chubby as Dovian acted as though he was already because of their mother. It just meant that they should probably keep him more active, huh?

Turning back to Thea she gave a humming sound then said, "We could go play near the water. Maybe we can gather shells with Anhalo. It will give him the extra exercise he needs to balance out all the snacks he gets."

He brought his gaze to his brother and lifted a brow at him. "Not a water kitty huh?" Dovian wasn't so sure he wanted to know what it was then. Though there was a certain bit of curiosity. "Was it like Aatos?" He asked Kiel if the monster he wanted to hunt was like their father's turtle.

Looking toward Shura he smiled. "That will never happen. Mom feeds everything." After a small laugh he looked at Thea and rolled his eyes again. "You sure you're our sister? You might be a fish." Dovi picked on her for her love of the water from time to time, though he blamed it on the fact that she had been born in Matori.

The kiss to her head made her smile and wrap her arms around her sister's neck for a hug. She ignored the comment about taking a nap and instead focused on Kiel. "You don't need a monster." Her concern was that the monster that her little brother wanted would hurt him.

As Shura defended Anhalo she giggled and looked at the water kitty. "Hes just really fluffy." The little girl nodded her head and turned her attention back to Shura. "Make him run more." If everyone really thought Anhalo was 'fat' then running was supposed to work. Although, ever since Thea could remember the cat had been like that so to her it was normal.

When Dovian teased her about being their sister she snapped her head toward him and glared before sticking her tongue out at him.

Kiel gave a shake of his head, a smile on his face, "Nope! Not an Aatos either! It wasn't nearly that big. It was... tiny, the size of my arm." He said, holding up his arm to show it to Dovian as though he would totally know what it was that he was talking about. Dovian was older then Kiel was which meant that he was actually much more learned.

Turning to look over at Thea as Dovian mentioned her being a fish and he gave a gasp, "Thea is a fish?!" His eyes went wide and he couldn't help but to just stare at his sister, as though he was in total shock over the fact that his sister wasn't what he thought her to be. Instead she was a fish! He was obviously surprised by this sudden turn of events that Dovian had revealed to him.
