Grace was feeling pretty grateful for Dwight. He wasn't like the others, and it showed. He actually smiled at her. Treated her like a person instead of some insect. It was nice, because the other option just made her feel even worse. In a way, his kindness was saving her from herself, because she wasn't sure how much more she would have wanted to stay living if the way Negan treated her was the way she would continue to be treated. Especially after losing her child in such a heartbreaking and cruel way. "Thank you for being so kind to me...Dwight." She figured that by calling him by his name it would just sound more personal. It made her feel better to actually have someone who was just so...human. Everyone else let this world change them. Change their hearts and souls and everything that made them who they were before the outbreak--but she never did. Grace was still the same person, except how she carried the weight of heartache on her shoulders--and that would probably never go away. Yeah, it might lessen with time but it would always be there. A constant reminder of the sweet little angel that left the world too soon.

After finding Maddox she helped Dwight get him to what she supposed was the clinic, and when he yelled for Carson, she looked around for him. But it was too late. Negan was there, and when he screamed she froze in place for a moment. He was the last person she wanted to see--yet here he was. However, after getting Maddox laid out and seeing Carson rush in--she moved her gaze to the hurt man. "He's hurt pretty bad... He started to look over Maddox, while Grace kind of let her instincts take over and she moved around, gathering little things here and there to help the man--and she went right to work making sure that he was breathing steadily before checking his vitals, and then came the cleaning of his wounds.

Whatever was going on with Dwight and Negan she tried not to focus on, because her name wasn't the one coming from the devils lips. Taking a warm washcloth, she crouched down by Maddox's head and gently started to clean the blood from him, smoothing his hair back softly. "You're gonna be alright. We're gonna help you..." He was out cold so she obviously knew he couldn't hear her, but it was just instinct. Her heart ached for this man and what had happened to him. Once he was as clean and wrapped up as he could get, Carson checked out a few more things to make sure he was stable before introducing himself. "Carson...I take it your the new person who is going to join me working here? He looked down at her own wounds from the day prior, but quickly brought his eyes back to the redhead. "Yeah, I'm Grace. It's nice to meet you.." She took his hand and shook it, before turning to Negan and Dwight now.

Yeah, she was scared of Negan but she knew Dwight didn't do this. "We found him like this..." She explained, trying to ge the man to see that Dwight was innocent.

"I'm a'ight... I'm a'ight..." Remy told Daryl as she took his hand, trying to get herself back together so she didn't seem as weak. It only made her feel that much worse that he had taken the brick she had dropped because she knew he was in pain too. At one time, she had done pretty well here but now she had landed so low on the savior totem pole. She knew Daryl was right. Those damn vultures would feast on whatever weakness they showed because that's exactly what she would have done before. She knew she had to pull herself back up and hold her head high again. Assemble something that looked like strength even now.

Then the yelling started and all that went out the window. Partially, she was a little embarrassed. For once, she had someone at her side that didn't know that far into her past. She thought she could move passed it. Maybe Daryl would see her different. But these assholes were screaming at her about her stripper days. Throwing insults at her. She was already irritated from the amount of hurt her body felt. Tired. Hungry. Annoyed she couldn't be out there looking for Connor. The yelling was just the last straw - Her mind just flipped. She had limped the first few steps but not as much when she turned toward the saviors and started marching up to them instead. She yelled back, waving her fist in the air. Oh. She was fired up now. "How'd ya like it if I put my foot so far up yer asses, ya won't find it again until ya s**t it out on Christmas mornin'?! Got somethin' to say, get over here and say it! I ain't scared of you pricks! Y'all the real bitches! An' I'll make ya my bitches if ya don't shut yer damn mouths!"

Daryl had just placed the brick down when he heard that Cajun accent carrying in the air, and when he turned around he saw her marching toward the pricks that had been yelling at her. He had heard everything they said, but he just assumed that they had said those things because they were trying to be a*****e. He never believed a word they said--but boy did it make Remy get riled up--and he cursed under his breath. This was a mistake--because one wrong move and she might not be alive to find her son. "Aye! AYE!" That woman sure did have a fire in her, and it took everything in the backwoods man to break into a sprint, running as fast as he could to get to her. Running through the pain until he got right behind her, and wrapped his toned arms around her from behind, lifting her from the ground to try and walk her back toward the bricks.

"Did ya ********' forget what I done said not five minutes ago?!" He wasn't yelling, but he was whispering rather harshly. "Ya think goin' over there and castrating those ******** is gonna help ya find ya kid? Nah..." Daryl looked over his shoulder at them, as they were now making comments about the two inbred hicks being together, making little inbred babies. Once he was closer to the far stack of bricks, he looked at Simon and then to Remy. "Ya kid needs ya, and if ya dead then who the hell is gonna find 'im? He needs ya, and ya need him too." He could see it in her eyes, how much she loved and needed her son. Each time she spoke about him there was something in the way the corner of her mouth twitched that told him more than she'd ever have to about how much she loved the kid. "Let's get this s**t over with. They gonna get theirs, I promise." Whether it would be him being the one to administer the punishment or someone else--they'd get theirs.

Daryl lifted a brick then, and handed it over to Remy--following that up with a wipe to his sweaty forehead. "Don't dig yer hole deeper. Next mistake ya make ya might die--and every kid needs their ma." He had one, but not in the way that Remy had Conor--which seemed to only add to his curiosity and respect for her.

"Ya no good rotten- The ********> Remy stopped yelling at the saviors when she was lifted into the air, a strong arm wrapped around her midsection. She wiggled a little in his grasp but heard what he said and knew, deep down, he was right. She frowned deeply and looked away from him as she was set back down. She looked back up at the saviors when they went on about two inbred hicks going at it. But this time she just scoffed. "They just jealous..." She mumbled as Daryl handed her the next brick. She looked up at him with a tiny smirk. "It's the end a the damn world and everyone still thinks strippers are easy to get wit'. Typical men... Thinkin' with their dicks." It felt better to insult them still. Even if they couldn't hear her. Remy's mind went back to Connor again and she was once more determined to get out of this place to find the boy. Even if it was the last thing she did.

Remy started again with this meaningless task they had been assigned but the saviors kept their chatter up. She was getting tired of it but she didn't act out as loudly as she had last time. This time, she waited until both she and Daryl were on their way back to the first pile of bricks. She slowed enough to give him a step ahead of her before her good hand dropped down. She took a bit of Daryl's a** in her hand and squeezed as she threw a wink at the saviors. Let them think what they wanted to. Interpret her actions however they pleased. She was still doing as she had been told. Not really breaking any rules. And it was such a small act, she was sure Simon wouldn't notice. Or care if he did. She sped up again to walk next to Daryl now and smirk up at him. "Ya got a nice rear-end." She teased, feeling a little better as she thought she got the last word in.

Of course Negan was going to start with him. Dwight wasn’t sure just what the ******** was up, but Negan had come trying to demand Carson come quicker, right over how he had been frantically calling. He liked Maddox, to an extent. The man had never done him wrong, but he was too much of an idealist to be a Savior. He was hardly quiet on his beliefs, but always courteous to others. He could get done what needed to be done, through any means necessary that didn’t go against his morals.

Dwight took a step back after Negan pushed him, but luckily Grace had stood up for him. “N-No.” He stammered. “Just saw a group of guys. Left and we found ‘im.

He looked over at Grace as she helped Maddox out, but Maddox wasn’t waking up. He was still breathing, but still out. Dwight spared a worried look and looked back up to Negan. He tried to stare him down just slightly, but quickly grew too intimidated. “Grace asked me to help her get her. I did. Maddox was jus’ on the way.” He finally explained. “I’ll get the ******** out. Get back to my work. But Saviors gotta look out for each other, right?”

Daryl would have liked to kick their asses as well, but their current position had him on his best behavior. Well-as best as it could get given he was a Dixon. Either way, he was glad to see that the spicy Cajun didn’t try to go after them again. But he did crack a smirk when she kept talking s**t to them. Even more when she said that they were jealous. Maybe of her—because even with the way she had been beaten and looked he still thought she was a beautiful woman. Stripper or not it didn’t define who she was. And it certainly didn’t make her any less attractive to him. “They just like seein’ ya get nice and riled up is all.” He knew he did—and maybe that was the little part of him that was guilty. Thinking with his d**k and all.

As soon as she continued working on the bricks, he did too. Even if it just made him hurt more, and even opened his wounds after they had already scabbed over. But then something happened that he never, NEVER had happen to him before. One moment he was looking at the stack of bricks and dreading having to move them to the other pile, and the next his hips hit forward and he let out a “JESUS FU-“ Daryl spun around and looked at the culprit, and she had a s**t eating grin on her face. But he didn’t. His lips turned down into a scowl and he looked back toward the other Saviors, before looking to Remy again. She made him look like an idiot.

Her comment, while funny, left the backwoods man feeling a little speechless. That was something that Merle would have done, except to a woman. And maybe using a little bit more vulgar language. “Yers ain’t half bad neither.” Before the pair could even make it to lift up another block, Gavin was there and saying something to Simon before waving at him and Remy to come along. “Get your asses over here...time to clean the dining hall.” He looked tired, like a tired a** old dog. Not even a hint of a smile or pleasure on his face. In fact, he looked exhausted with life in general—but Daryl did as he was told and nudged Remy to come too.

“Negan wants to make an example of the two of you. Parade your asses around to show everyone else what happens when they don’t follow the rules.” The dining hall was still full people were still eating, which was going to make this that much better. Hopefully humiliate them enough to make them wanna try and bend and conform.

Jared of course was seated with Lottie, and when he saw Daryl and Remy get brought inside he grinned from ear to ear, sitting straighter and dropping his arm from around her shoulders. “Oh, this s**t keeps getting better and better.” His eyes flickered between the two prisoners, stopping on Remy for a moment before he turned to Charlotte. Everyone knew the women had a history. Even Jared. He wanted to see how she reacted to this. It was almost like the ultimate test of her loyalty to him.

Gavin cupped his hands over his mouth and finally spoke. “Everyone. We’ve got our prisoners here to get to cleaning. Now, don’t go and make a big mess for them—they had a long night.” He spoke sarcastically, and as soon as he finished there were a few hoots and hollers, and the Saviors immediately started to drop things on the floor. Calling to Remy and Daryl to come clean. But Jared didn’t. No-he went the extra mile. He grabbed a handful of his pinto beans and threw them right at Remy. Right in her face. “Oh s**t! I was aiming for the garbage can but I still made it to the trash.” The men sitting with him and Charlotte erupted into laughter, and he even shrugged and then knocked his tray to the ground, snapping his fingers and pointing to the mess. “Get to work.”

Charlotte’s high had kicked in and she had been joking and cutting up with her and Jared’s friends, telling a few stories from back in Boston that were sure to bring forth a few laughs. She fell silent whenever Gavin began talking, looking bored at first, but then when Gavin said what they were going to be doing, a s**t-eating grin adorned her features. Charlotte knew it was wrong, but her high said otherwise. She was still extremely pissy at Daryl for what he did to Jared. And Remy? Well, she didn’t think she could ever forgive Remy for breaking her heart over and over again- even if her actions had been part of the reason they split. Jared was the one to pick up a few of those pieces, while she gathered the rest in her arms in hopes he would put them back together. Deep down she knew that he wouldn’t do it. He would do just enough to keep her strung along. Maddox’s words were really getting to her.

She couldn’t help but laugh as Jared threw his pinto beans at Remy, and then even harder when they hit her in the face. Charlotte had picked up her own tray, both wanting to leave, and then wanting to exact her own little form of revenge- exact justice on them. The inbred looking guy and Remy had done wrong. This was their punishment. Rules were rules.

Watch this,” Charlotte mouthed to Jared with a wink. Without hesitation, she had started chewing up some of her eggs before spitting them back out on her plate. She marched right up to Remy and smashed the plate into her face. “Why isn’t this goin’ in? I thought you told me this was where the trash goes, Jare?” She feigned looking hurt, and without much warning released the plate that had stuck to Remy’s face. She took a step back, and then splashed her drink, purposely aiming for Daryl’s pants.

Oh, s**t, Jare. Hills have eyes has gone and pissed himself!

More of the Saviors started to join in as Charlotte returned to Jared’s side with a satisfied smirk on her face. But on the inside, she was a little disappointed in herself, though it didn’t show. She couldn’t let it show.

Negan scoffed, his arms folded over his chest as he puffed up a bit. A primal urge somewhere in him to seem physically like a much larger man. Like a lion trying to intimidate a zebra, really. "Well, great work, D. You got Grace where she needed to go." He praised but his tone was less than true. "Now. Get the ******** out of here." Negan wasn't sure why but he didn't like the idea of Dwight hanging around Grace. He still wasn't completely trustworthy in Negan's own opinion. He even threw his thumb out towards the door then turned his back completely to Dwight. As if the man wasn't even worth his time to speak to anymore. Negan was bigger. Negan was badder. Those were the facts.

He looked over Maddox with a frown as he stepped closer to the two medical specialists. "How long is he going to be out like that? I've got some s**t I wanna ask him." Starting with who did this and, more importantly, why. If it was something that was deserved, Negan would overlook punishment for those responsible. But if Maddox hadn't done a damn thing, there was going to be hell to pay for putting one of Negan's men in a damn hospital bed. People were a resource and even Negan knew that. He liked having people. More people to kneel in his presence. More people to make him feel powerful.

                                ---

Remy rolled his eyes when Gavin spoke. The man always seemed so damn miserable, she couldn't help but wonder what had kept him here this whole time. He didn't seem to enjoy the life of a savior but he did it day after day. She was also rolling her eyes because she knew what this meant. They were going to be paraded around. Made an example of. Proof that crossing Negan never worked out well for anyone. First, there was Jared. Who Remy absolutely hated with a passion but now it was worse. Now it was personal. She wanted so badly to say something. Scream at him. Call him out as the worthless piece of s**t he was. Remy looked over to Daryl as she picked a bean off her own cheek and squished it between two fingers. She was pissed but surprisingly enough, she tried to keep her cool. This time.

Next came Lottie and what the woman did was even more insulting. Because they had once been so close. But, again, Remy took it without a peep. Until it was over. She let the plate fall to the floor and shifted her feet beneath her weight. The anger bubbling just under the surface, ready to erupt at any moment. "Thanks for puttin' it all in one spot, Lots. You a real pal." Her words dripped with sarcasm but there was no threat involved. No punches thrown. She closed her eyes as more saviors threw more at them. Her hands clenched into fists at her sides so tight, there were sure to be crescent shaped marks on her palm whenever she finally did release them. She looked to Daryl when they apparently got bored of throwing s**t at them. Or at least slowed down with it. "Guess we best get to work then, no?"

Grace stayed silent, and even frowned at Dwight when Negan was so mean to him. But she didn't have a place to say anything. She didn't really have a place there at all--feeling like a complete outsider every time she walked out of her room. It didn't help that her child was gone now too--so she didn't even have that to lean on anymore. She and Carson exchanged glances and she made sure that she got Maddox as comfortable as possible when Negan asked about him being out and for how long. "Well--" She and Carson had gone to answer the man at the same exact time, and they looked to one another--each one waving their hand. "Go ahead..." Again, they said the same thing at the same time and the whole thing had a smile tugging at her lips--because it was kind of funny.

But she cleared her throat and shrugged. "He's not dead, and he's not really alive either. He's in a coma. The beating sent his body into overdrive...and in order to heal it needs him to...fuel up. Kinda. So...there's no telling when he will wake up--it depends on how well his body heals itself." She looked to Carson for a second and he gave her a smile and a nod--pleased with her knowledge. "That's right. But as soon as he opens his eyes you will know, sir."

Grace didn't think about it, but she really wasn't aware she had to call Negan 'sir'. Though she made a mental note to do so because she just didn't need to get on his bad side. She needed to do what she had to so she could eventually leave. Of course she didn't know where she was going to go--but she needed to go somewhere. Maybe she was gonna go somewhere private to die. Or maybe she was going to go somewhere to try and start over. Nothing was set in stone yet.

"Have you had lunch yet?" Carson looked at the red head from across the room, while drying his hands.

"No--not yet. I had breakfast though.." Having that much bread was enough for her, and she really wasn't looking forward to going to get more. She couldn't get any of the other food either.

"How about we go get something to eat?" He had no idea about her situation, kind of assuming she had the same privledges he did because he was the resident doctor.

"No--that's alright. I appreciate the invitation but I'm not hungry...I'll just stay and watch over him."

Unilke Remy, Daryl was not as good at hiding his feelings. He was getting red in the face, and his hands hung at his sides, clenched into fists. They were clenched so tightly that his knuckles were turning white, and his fingernails were digging into the palm of his hand. He hated the Boston b***h. Blue eyes were like daggers watching her prance around and make fun of them. He hated this. He hated being humiliated but at the same time he needed to comply because he just had to buy enough time to get an escape plan ready.

Jared was loving every moment of this. His grin grew wider and wider until his laugh filled the air at Charlotte's antics. When she returned to his side, he was standing from the table along with the others, and all of them dropped their trays to the ground around the table--while he wrapped his arm around her shoulders to pull her close--pressing a kiss to her temple. "This is why I like ya, Lottie. You're a ******** b***h but you're MY ******** b***h." When they walked by the pair, he winked at Remy. As if it wasn't enough that they were covered in food and other s**t, he felt a little compelled to rub it into her face that Charlotte was with him.

Everyone knew about their history together--at least everyone at the Sanctuary. They also knew that the women were kind of on bad terms, and the fact that she rolled around with him and his crew spoke volumes about where her loyalty lied--at least to him. "Gavin..might wanna give them a little motivation..." He stopped by the doors that led outside and looked to Charlotte before looking back to Gavin.

Gavin of course sighed heavily and ran a hand through his hair. "WHAT, Jared. Enlighten me." He was getting tired of Jared, and even though he was always tired of something he was going to be relieved when the a*****e left the dining hall.

Jared chuckled like a little kid, and pressed his lower back against the door, pushing it open to the outside. "Make sure they clean the floor good--cause they're gonna be eating off of it." He wasn't sure why Negan didn't just make HIM in charge of the prisoners. He could make them hate their lives, and he would be able to make them comply and listen far better than D-Bag or even Simon would be able to.

When the food slowed, Daryl looked to Remy as Jared spoke and taunted them, but he didn't listen to the long haired weasel. Instead he gave Remy a nod and reached out his hand, brushing some food from the shoulder even though it would do no good. "Let's just get this s**t over with." He almost wanted to go back to the cell--because this was bullshit.

Right when they started to move, Gavin cleared his throat as he went to get his own food. "You two are gonna get hosed down after this. Can't have you stinking up the place."

Damn right I’m yours, baby!” Charlotte beamed up at Jared. After he kissed her on the side of her head. She came back by grabbing his face and planting a big kiss on his lips. She was also still snickering at the commotion in the dining all as they left. Jared definitely gave Gain an idea- a pretty comical one, in her opinion. But she had other ideas in mind too.

Hey, babe. Before we go to the outpost, how about we make those prisoners feel more at home? Let’s trash their cell.” Charlotte grinned up at Jared. “How ‘bout it, baby?

He did agree, of course, and they made their way down to the cells, to spill already spoiled milk, eggs, and whatever other trash they could find on the floor and the walls. Charlotte took another bump of cocaine shortly after they finished, preparing herself for the run to the outpost ahead to pass out some of the items the Kingdom had given them earlier. Gavin, of course, was taking the lead on this, leaving Charlotte and Jared in the furthest seat in the back of the van- which was never a dull thing.

The scene they were going to arrive to, however….

Negan watched the little exchange between Carson and Grace. His lip curling in disgust over their cutesy little two people, one mind bullshit. He growled when the doctor assured him that he would be notified as soon as Maddox woke. There wasn't much else to do about that. Not until the man woke and Negan could question him properly. Then his eyes shifted between the two medical professionals and his frown deepened more. He expected Grace to take Carson up on his offer because, to Negan, it did sound like an offer. Or at least it could turn into one when Carson saw Grace's current diet. Which wasn't really against the rules. The doctor could use his points as he wished but if Grace wanted to use her charm and perky a** to get a warm meal, Negan would certainly think just a little less of her. Then she denied it and Negan stood just a little straighter. Her little pity party was getting boring to the Sanctuary leader. "Just don't ******** up." He warned before turning on heel to walk out of the clinic. "And learn where s**t is. Jesus ********. It isn't that ******** hard."

He didn't even look back as he left, making his way to the dinning hall himself. Which happened to be a goddamn mess. But the sight of the prisoners in the middle of it all actually made him smirk because he could see the humiliation written across their faces. Just what he wanted. At least something was going right. He almost wished Grace had decided to come down here, so she could see how bad she could have it. He slammed Lucille hard against the concrete wall, the bang echoing through the hall to announce his arrival as he slowly approached Remy and Daryl.

Remy had kept her head down for the most part. The once proud woman appearing like a shell of her former self. She hated that these pricks got actual food while she and Daryl were left with crummy dog food in a small, dingy cell. She knew her own scent wasn't pleasant but the fresh cooked aroma from the kitchen found it's way to her nose anyway. And it made her stomach twist in pain, begging for anything to be added the empty pit. Remy was on her hands and knees cleaning up the mess Jared and his crew had so kindly left them when she noticed a green apple.

While a tad dirty, it was otherwise untouched. Such a waste, she thought at first but then it clicked in her mind. Remy looked up and over each shoulder to make sure the saviors had just gone back to being their normal, rowdy selves. Knowing no one was specifically watching every small move she made, Remy quickly stuffed the apple into her jacket pocket in one swift motion and went back to cleaning without so much as a pause. She had her experience in stealing enough to make the motion fluid and damn near unnoticeable. There had been a reason her clients at the strip club always left a little lighter than they even realized. She worked until the clang of a wood bat on concrete grabbed her attention, making her look up. Her growling stomach dropping at the sight of the big man himself. This kind of s**t never ended well.

Negan stopped in front of Remy and lowered himself down to her level by bending his knees. He chuckled. "No, you look worse than s**t. You look like s**t ate s**t then s**t you out." He knew Remy enough to know how proud and confident she was. Hell, it was one of the reasons he liked her when she first joined the saviors. So, Negan was sure these low blows would affect her precious ego. He searched her expression for any signs of defiance but barely saw any. Sure, there was that spark of fire in her eyes but that was it. Maybe it was time. Maybe she was ready. "Who are you?" This wasn't an offer yet. She had only been locked up for a day. He just wanted to see how far she had come.

Remy looked up as Negan's towering figure lowered in front of her. Fear washing over her as she spared a quick glance to his nightmare bat. Then she looked back to him. Her gaze hardening as she spoke but it didn't make her look any less pathetic, being covered in garbage and old food. His stupid smile, words, and his question made it hard to keep her lip from twitching into a silent snarl. But she did answer, after letting her icy gaze flicker over to Daryl for just a moment. The hunter had become a sort of reminder for Remy. Why to stay on her best behavior. She looked at Daryl and she remembered Connor was still out there before the rage inside her bubbled over. "Negan." She growled, her eyes narrowing on him even more.

"s**t, Rem! If looks could kill!" Negan burst into a fit of wild laughter, even leaning back a little to throw his head back. But she did answer correctly, just not in a tone he liked. Negan reached forward, flicking a pinto bean off of Remy's shoulder with a snap forward of his finger. Taking in that look of fear she wore when he reached forward. Then Negan stood and made his way to Daryl, ready to do the same damn thing. "Who are you?"

Remy had held her breath when Negan reached toward her. Never knowing what's going to end with someone's head being bashed in. Negan was so damn unpredictable. Her eyes widened when he left and approached Daryl. Had he caught on? Remy wondered, her eyes softening to silently plead with Daryl just to do what he needed to. Just survive. She needed him.

Daryl was silent the entire time they worked on cleaning up the dining hall. He didn't want to speak to anyone, but he did take notice of small things. Like the fact that the door on the far side of the dining hall remained untouched. No one came in or out of it, but it surely led outside. But to where? Then he noticed and watched the cooks in the back, where they put the cutlery, and he even watched them when they twisted the code on the padlock to make sure they were locked back up. Since leaving the prisoners around something like that could end badly. Another thing he caught was Remy putting the apple into her pocket--and he paused what he was doing to shoot her a look of warning. She needed to remember that she needed to get out of here for her son. Daryl? Well--after what Grace had told him he didn't have anyone left at the school to go back to. Sure, he could go back to Alexandria but at the moment that wasn't something he felt compelled to do--because Grace was here too. She must not be a prisoner in the same way he and Remy were, but he was sure that she was still being treated as lower than the other Saviors for sure.

Then the echo of the bat hitting the wall filled the dining hall, and Daryl brought his gaze up from the ground to look at Negan, watching his stride and the way he was just so confident. The way he thought so highly of himself...but there had to be something beneath. Everyone had something that made them weak--he just needed to figure out what the hell it was that made Negan weak. The entire exchange between him and Remy was supposed to have taught him something, but at the same time Daryl wasn't going to fold that easy. He knew who he was and he knew who he didn't want to be--Negan. So when he was asked who he was, he held Negan's gaze with his own, a permanent scowl decorating his features. "Daryl." There was no doubt about it, and he said it loud enough for Negan, Remy, and everyone else to hear that was in the dining hall.

Even though he had seen the way Remy was looking at him, he just couldn't do this. He was not going to fold and bend to this man's will. But if SHE did, then he could help her get out of here. Find her son, and get far away from this place and these people. Because if there was anyone who knew how much it sucked to not have parents, not have people who loved you--it was him.

Negan's frowned deepened at Daryl. Remy stood but he barely noticed until she came forward, shouting. "No... No! Don't ya ********' lay a hand on 'im!" She warned but Fat Joey moved in to hold her back. She was so much smaller than him, it was easy. Even with her struggling. Worry and panic consumed her. Even in the short amount of time she knew Daryl, she was sure they had connected. No doubt from the amount of stress they had already been through together. "He don't know no better! He don't understand!"

"Well, he's gonna ******** learn today!" Negan chuckled as he stood straighter again. He took a few steps back before he motioned the saviors around closer. "Teach him." Was all he had to say for the saviors to pounce. Negan just watched as they moved in. Admiring the way Daryl tried to fight back, however fruitless it was for him. But Remy's nonsense continued on the sidelines and Negan quickly grew annoyed with it. "Get her the ******** out of here! Clean her up and throw her back in the goddamn cell!" He roared with a wave of his hand, brushing her off like she was nothing.

"Ya can't do this! Stop! All a ya are ********' monsters, hear me?!" Remy yelled and kicked her feet, worried about how far they were going to take this. But at Negan's orders, Fat Joey lifted her up and carried her away. Her 'bath' wouldn't be anything except a cold hose but that wasn't the worst of it. The worst was getting thrown back into that dark cell still soaking wet. The smell of the cell itself made the whole hosed down thing rather pointless but her mind was on something else. She didn't have a damn clue if Daryl would even survive this beating and that left her pacing back and forth, eyes glancing to the small bit of light under the door at every sound of footsteps.

Negan let the saviors have their fun for a while after the loud Cajun was taken away. Waiting for the moment Daryl was barely able to move before he spoke up again. "Stop. I don't need another coma p***k to deal with." He barely had to raise his voice and the saviors backed right off without protest. He frowned down at Daryl laying on the floor before he bent at the knees to speak to the dirty man. "Well... I'll be damned. It almost looks like you need a ********' doctor. Or a nurse." He chuckled again. It was almost like he was looking for a reason to go back to that clinic and see Grace again. Maybe it was to use her friend here to show her just how bad she could have it. Or maybe it was something else. Maybe he was more drawn to the woman than even he realized. "Get the ******** up." He growled at Daryl before reaching down with his free hand to yank the redneck up himself so he could roughly shove Daryl toward the halls again.

Joshua had been watching from the sidelines. He saw the whole thing between Remy, Negan, Daryl, and the other Saviors. Normally he wouldn't have put himself into a situation like that without asking his brother about it, but they were planning. Already so close to getting here to teach these sinners the wrong of their ways. Joshua had been with them for a good while now, but he very regularly communicated with his brother and the big man upstairs, so he knew what it was he was doing. He knew that they were going to make it right. They were going to do the right thing in God's eyes and deliver these people from their sins. Because oh they were sinners. From what he could tell Negan, Remy, Charlotte, and Jared were the worst of the worst. But then he also knew Grace was there, Daryl too. Joseph had been the one that carried out the attack on the school in hopes of being able to get to the two leaders as well--but now--it was like they fell right into the palm of their hands again.

                                                  Oh, God is so good.

His eyes moved back to Remy as she was taken to the cell--and that was where he was going to go. He was going to tell her what happened to sinners, and what she had to look forward to. Soon. Glancing down at his own arm, he frowned at the sin that was carved there. Adultery. He had sinned, so many times that he had more under his shirt. Over his back. His chest. But this was the ONLY one that bothered him. Either way, he exhaled a breath and held his shoulders high, making his way to the prisoners cells, crouching down in front of the door to her cell. "Remy, is it?' No one was in the halls because--well--she didn't need to be watched over. She was locked up, so it wasn't like there was anything she could do to escape. "You do not know me. I am not going to tell you my name, but I am going to tell you that you will repent. All of you here are going to repent for your sins..." The more he thought about it, the more he realized just HOW BAD she was. A stripper of all things. Giving and showing her body to men. For what? Money? In his mind there was no need for that because God always provided.

God is good, forever and ever.

He pressed his hand against the door and smiled, shaking his head a bit. "Daryl, that man with you? I know him. I know his friend too. We are the ones who made sure that all those sinners got what was coming to them. When I say 'we' I mean my brother. Joseph. He fathered that b*****d child, and before he could get married to the harlot she left. Having a child out of wedlock is a sin--but you know that. You know that because you have a child. You have a b*****d child of your own, and they DO NOT need to walk this earth. Walking heathens, is what they are..." He realized that he was getting off topic, and took a few moments to collect his thoughts before starting again.

"My brother and our people will be here soon--and all of you will be given the option to follow the word of God or you will forever walk the earth with your sins on display for the world to see." He stood now, not leaving just yet because he wanted to know what she had to say. If she told anyone it wasn't like she knew his name and could tell anyone. He was a stranger to her, leaving her with this information to hopefully give her a little heads up. Joshua himself had committed adultery, hence the sin having been carved into his arm. But he couldn't help but want to give this woman the opportunity to change...because he was damn sure attracted to her.

Joseph would be angry knowing he'd done this--but it was foolproof. They were never going to be prepared for God's wrath.

Grace kept herself pretty busy cleaning the clinic and getting some things taken care of. Like the floors. It was like no one cleaned the damn floors in the place. They had been pretty filthy, so she took care of that. She also made sure to check on Maddox every so often, as well as just helping whomever came inside for something. Whether it be a band-aid or time for their medication--whatever it might be. Even though she had told Carson that she didn't want anything, he managed to bring her back a banana, sliced up in a bowl with some honey drizzled over it. Which was so damn good.

Then she heard a little commotion, and as soon as she saw Daryl get hauled into the room her lips curved down into a frown. He was dirty, and bloody, and she wasn't even completely sure where to start with helping him because of it. "Daryl..." She hated seeing stuff like this, even when she worked in the hospital. But she hated this even more because Negan seemed proud and excited to show her what happened to Daryl, and that alone made her stomach twist.

Daryl, on the other hand, wasn't knocked out. He had been beaten pretty badly, but he didn't lost consciousness. So when he was placed on that table in front of Grace he looked to the woman with regret. Not because he felt like he was responsible for anything, but because this was the first time he had seen her since she had told him about Ella. He didn't say anything in fact, just watching as she stepped forward to gently help remove the shirt from him so she could see what happened and what was wrong with him. "I'm sorry if this hurts...but I need to clean you off a little to see what I'm working with." She didn't know the details of what had happened, and didn't want to.

Thus she'd move to the sink and get a small bucket of lukewarm water and a rag, coming back to wipe and clean the man from head to--well--waistband of his pants. Because she didn't think that he was hurt there. She did see the wounds on his shoulder and side, and they were looking bad. They were already healing so she couldn't fix them now. All that there was left to do was clean them and continue to allow them to heal. When that was done, she grabbed a little suture kit and some rubbing alcohol, moving back to start on a spot above his eyebrow that had split open.

"Sorry 'bout Ella, Grace." He hadn't actually seen Grace since she dropped the news, but he could tell just the way she distracted herself and carried herself that she was hurting. HE was hurting--and even reached his hand out to give hers a squeeze. Daryl could see it in her eyes that the pain was there, and just like him she pushed it back. Holding it all in.

But hearing him say that had Grace pausing to look at him, her teeth clenching together so hard that she thought she was going to break every tooth in her skull. Of course he wasn't trying to make her hurt--but she was already hurting. She was just kind of good at hiding it. "Me too, Daryl. I miss her a lot." She gave him a half assed smile and blinked her eyes quickly a few times, getting the tears before they had a chance to fall. The last thing she needed to do was get yelled at and put down for crying over the death of her child.

Then Grace cleaned the open wounds for him, closing them and finally handing him back the shirt as she cleaned the bloodied bandages and gauze.
