[PRP] Brotherly Chatter [Aurinkoth/Elzebuth]

He didn't like it when his Ichta looked so pale. While the understandable (or at least explained) ailment she suffered from hadn't kept her from going to what classes and drills she could, the two had pointedly kept their distance from the other Weyrlings and as soon as such things were done, Ichta had all but forced them back into their weyr.

Aurinkoth's disappointment didn't go missed. "You can go out and play, love," Ichta reminded him of her previous offer, but the blue simply rested his head on her bed and crooned sadly. The gentle hand on his snout did make him feel better, but only a little bit. There was so much he'd tried to unbury through their connection. She'd felt worse after sending off her letter with Naughty Boy (who was currently destroying a shoe) and seemingly been even more so when Pretty Girl had come with a reply. 'Sick', she insisted, but Aurinkoth didn't believe he'd be unable to tell 'sad' from 'sick'.

Sensing his distress, Ichta moved so her beloved blue could rest his head on her lap, stroking his headknobs affectionately. He offered her a wave of unyielding love, and was offered a less overwhelming one in return, soothing some of the yellow from his eyes. "I promise I'll feel better soon," she assured. Aurinkoth turned his head to focus one green eye up on her with a rumble of contentment.

Yes. He'd make sure she was happy soon.

Elzebuth, Aurinkoth reached out towards the brown while remaining perfectly content and curled up by his rider, Do you have time? It seemed a silly question - Elzebuth would make time for whatever he well liked, and he'd yet to have found himself rebuffed in any such instance. But Ichta insisted asking was polite, and there had been very little his Ichta had been wrong about - except whatever she was being sad about.

The brown cracked an eye open when his brother spoke to him, slowly lifting his head for a moment. Perhaps. What do you need, brother? His rider had been most agitated with Aurinkoth's, for reasons that made no sense to him. She had seemingly rebuffed his advances--why had he not stormed her weyr and demanded her affection? He'd recommended as much, but G'ran had refused, content to sulk and brood instead.

While it made no sense to the dragon, he supported his rider every step of the way, and instead had taken a cold disinterest in Aurinkoth's. How had she upset His so badly? It irked him, and his tail lashed in contempt even as he pondered it over.

He would wait for Aurinkoth's response.

Under Ichta's hand, Aurinkoth let out a small huff as if sensing Elzebuth's disinterest. Ichta raised her brows at him and the blue quickly flooded her with innocent reassurance and a sweet croon. She seemed to be at least somewhat appeased by such offers. Content with this, he turned his focus back to his brother.

Mine is unwell in body, but also in her heart and I am uncertain what to do. as he spoke, he carefully nosed his way through Ichta's half of their tether, gingerly pulling strings as he could to snoop through her thoughts. He was doing his best to be his most careful as he was every time, yet Ichta's mind pressed back against his.

What are you doing, love? she asked and Aurinkoth lifted his head to bump the edge of his snout against her cheek with a quiet cheep of affection. Then, he pulled away from her mind, spreading out her thoughts like a deck of cards he was mentally displaying to Elzebuth. Love, Fear - uncertainty. They seemed to revolve around Elzebuth's.

I don't know how to use this to make her better so she can see yours again - she very much wants it.

Oh, now that was interesting. The large brown's eyes whirled with thought as he sifted through the information, his interest caught. Complex, very much so... and it lightened his disdain for Ichta, at least marginally. So, she hadn't found another mate, but her own indecision had her paralyzed... and G'ran was hardly being aggressive enough if he truly meant to woo her.

Elzebuth said nothing for a time, but allowed his presence of mind to linger so that Aurinkoth would know he was not ignoring him.

We must arrange for them to meet. He said simply. They are continuing to be foolish. And by they, he kind of meant Ichta, because he was a stalwart defender of G'ran, but he knew how to spread the blame. And they have refused to solve it themselves. Once she is well, can you make Yours head to a location of our choosing?

He had no doubt that Aurinkoth could. G'ran may be slightly more of a challenge, but Elzebuth knew if he pressed and pushed enough, the man would give in. He always did.... usually.

It was entirely fortunate that Elzebuth had a better sense of what to do in these sorts of situations. Aurinkoth had thrown enough bliss at Ichta to no avail that clearly it was't working. His own mental presence seemed to linger around his brother's, like an annoying child hovering after mother waiting to see if she'd relent them a snack.

He let out an audible cheep at the suggested course of action and Ichta again gave the blue a curious look. "Who are you talking to?" she asked and for a moment, Aurinkoth had to try extremely hard to feign innocence - as if he wasn't talking about her behind her back...or right in front of her face. She didn't buy his lack of an answer.

I think I could do that. It would need to be somewhere that doesn't make her suspicious for being out of the normal... he offered, even as Ichta nudged at him, trying to goad an actual answer out of him. Even if it was just to class early or something.

Early to class will work. The very first class of the morning. He decided, his tail tips twitching with satisfaction. He cut off for a moment as His returned to his weyr, looking as irritated as he had been for a while now. G'ran paced irritably for a time, though did stop to briefly lean against the big brown's head. Elzebuth rumbled gently, exhaling warm breath that caused his rider's dark hair to ruffle.

"You've been quiet," He growled, rubbing the other's head knobs. "Whatever you're plotting, don't." The dragon's eyes widened, doing his very best to be the picture of innocence. G'ran snorted and thumped his nose fondly before moving to go bathe...

The sooner, the better. Elzebuth said firmly. Agreed?

Elzebuth made the executive decision and Aurinkoth simply accepted it without a trace of hesitation. His brown brother was good for these sorts of things and there was no point in worrying himself with if they were the best decisions or not - Elzebuth knew best!

Agreed. I will watch myIchta and make sure she is truly well and keep you in the know, she'd get better sooner if she didn't push her luck - which she already had multiple times already. What should have taken a sevenday to recover from was now going on three and at this rate he'd have to sit on her to keep her in bed.

His mental presence lingered for a moment longer before he withdrew it with a last wave of fondness towards the brown to focus on his rider. Hopefully if he was on top of everything, he and Elzebuth wouldn't be made to wait too long.
