High Reaches Weyr Mini-Plot Updates!

This thread will be used to announce general plot seeds for individuals to keep in consideration. These are things you can choose to have your character opt into, or they can continue being written without issue!

I will try to update these every few months or whenever we're so inspired.

Feel free to have these reports effect your character or inspire RP as you see fit! These are not major meta-plots, but they could turn into them -- only time will tell!

High Reaches Weyr Mini-Plot Update: 3574.01.24

Weather Report: Greenrider N'bus is reporting a cold winter for High Reaches Weyr and most of its surrounding territory! Snow up in the High Reaches Mountains will be heavy as a cold front dips down from the Northern Wastelands -- blizzard and white out conditions will likely keep riders indoors when not on drills or sweep duty. Yes, sweeps will continue, especially as traders and travelers through the mountain passes might find themselves stuck or lost! Emergency sweeps might be called during or after some of the stronger blizzards to help find lost travelers.

Temperatures will stay well under freezing most of the winter, though warmer days might allow for the temps to creep up to the 30s. Overnights tends to dip to around 0.

Stay bundled up and warm! The Weyr lake is often broken into when it ices over so water is still freely available -- but for adult riders, there are a few local hot springs that are quite popular this time of the Turn!

Weyr Notices: This is Journeyman Harper Jalla here, with the latest Weyr News. Master Donvie, one of the Weyr's healers, has seen an uptick of season colds -- and a particularly nasty bug is making its way through the Weyr. Symptoms include headache, fever, chills, sore throat, and congestion. If you feel under the weather, rest when you can, and notify your Wingleader's immediately! This bug doesn't pass quickly, and can take up two sevendays to pass. Some cases have resulted in more dire illness, such as a chest or sinus infection and pneumonia, so don't take this lightly. Drink lots of liquids, get lots of rest, and don't push yourself to fight through it.
