[PRP] Starting Anew From Seed and Soil - (Sephos and Valaon)

A disaster is an opportunity to rebuild.

Ever since Maku entered dormancy, Sephos hadn't had any sort of reason, good or otherwise, to leave his forest home. There was simply too much to be done - an entire territory of woodland to take care of in his lusus' stead, and the chores besides that kept him alive. The forest, except for some key things like sopor slime and metal, provided most of what he needed. But when he'd recieved Valaon's letter (and managed to muddle through reading it), he found a reason to emerge.

He found himself in the plains, staring out at the scorched land that had been her farm. It was stunning, the destruction that a fire could cause - a part of the cycle of life, he knew. The land would be enriched by the ashes, and, in a forest, it gave new seeds and saplings room and sun-space to grow. To renew. Here, though, someone had set the fire... and farms did not just grow back. Not without help.

He crossed over the - still mostly intact - gateway onto Valaon's farm, bare feet crunching in the charcoal as he looked at the damage - and, also, for a particular silhouette...

Valaon had been hard at work to rebuild her farm. After clearing out most of the dead trees and other debris, she had begun working on rebuilding some of her sheds and whatever else needed repairing on her hive. The greenblood wiped the sweat from her brow as she finished rebuilding another shed. She was covered in dirt and looked a mess even though she had bathed that evening.

Valaon looked over to the front entrance of her hivestead, seeing a familiar face. Sephos. Thank Gog he showed up. Her friend's arrival was pumpbiscuit warming but also a touch depressing... For him to see her farm like this, it hurt. The greenblood moved towards her friend, a slight smile on her face. "Well if it ain't my ol' friend, Sephos." She commented, looking him over and noting how tall he'd gotten.

"Hey Valaon." He said, nodding as he turned his attention to her. Dirt was meaningless to him - but the new injuries weren't. He frowned in concern (not that it was easy to tell,) but said nothing about them.

"I'm here," he added, "How can I help?" He hadn't brought anything with him - just himself, his strong body, and his will to help - but there certainly would be a lot to do. He knew of one thing he could do - plants. Which were at home. He could lift and carry, too. He could help... and he wanted to.

Just as she'd asked.
