((Weyrling ORP! To give a little context, this is back in the first month of their training when they were working on passing messages and improving their mental bond. Bas and R'gan devised a little game to practice and invited L'ex and the rest of the weyrlings to join!))

The long hours of daylight in the summer was one of the few benefits of living this far north. So the by the time R'gan was done with his evening chores (and Basanuth had nagged him to hurry all the time!), it was still relatively light outside. He went to pick up some picnic-like snacks on his way back towards barracks, one of the benefits of having a cook for a foster mother. By now, R'gan had all but given up on his craft. Glassblowing was interesting enough, and he hoped to return to it at some point in the future, but he'd mostly started it to have a good solid back-up career if it took him a while to impress, or, Faranth forbid, he never did.

Basanuth was his career now. That was clear enough. And while other dragons might be content to let Theirs be idle during their time off, Bas, much to his rider's pride and chagrin, most certainly was not. He wanted to learn. Wanted to practice, improve, always. And it was all R'gan could do to indulge him.

"So who did you invite in the end?" he asked, as they settled down in a nice shaded area just near their weyrling barracks. Though they planned it together, somewhat by accident, R'gan had let Bas be the one to contact his siblings, hoping it would help him to be a little more social. Lex and Kratoth were coming for sure. And he would be surprised if Bas hadn't told Menankith. But he wasn't sure who else he had thought to invite.
Everyone. Bas replied simply, as though he didn't quite understand the question. I invited everyone. R'gan laughed. Of course. It was only fair.

Anyway, from what I can tell, everyone is in need of some improvement. Basanuth added discerningly.
"Well.. Maybe don't be too enthusiastic with your suggestions, Bas."
Why not?
Some people don't like it. he said, with a shrug. Obviously he was on his dragon's side. But he wanted him to have friends too. It sounds like criticizing.
Hmm? Basanuth padded over to his rider, putting his front laws in his knee as he tried to nose into the basket curiously. It is for their own good, though. I only want them to do better. he said, but he was in far too good of a mood to debate it for now. He folded his front legs and laid his head against his rider's knee, giving up on the food and letting him go back to what he was doing. This is good! he said, a swell of hope and cheerfullness rising in his mind. Everyone working to together. Improving together. This is right. This will be a good, I'm sure of it.

Well, that's if anyone even shows up... R'gan thought first, a little less optimisitc.

Basanuth asked for us to meet over here, C'rynmine. Aresoth's voice easily moved though C'ryn's head as they moved. It was evening, after chores and lessons had been finished. Normally Aresoth and he would go to their preferred spot away from everyone to work on practicing on their own. They were both determined to soar high once they were able to. They would reach their goal and go past it as well.

"Did Basanuth give you any idea of what it was he wanted to do?" He was sure it was some form of exercise, that could be the only reason he could think of that would have the blue calling all of his siblings together. It would help all of them and they all needed to work together more so, C'ryn wasn't against it. He mentioned about practicing passing messages to our bonded and one another. It is a skill that is very crucial and could backfire horribly if not learned correctly. Aresoth hoped more of his siblings would end up showing up, he worried about them. The young dragon knew there was a chance not all of them would graduate their training and he did no want to have to face Zenobiath if their siblings perished and there was something he could have done to help them.

As they neared the spot, C'ryn waved at R'gan and Basanuth as Aresoth nodded his head to his brother. While they may have differing ideals about how things should go in the weyr, Aresoth admired Basanuth's resolved to improve himself and his rider. He knew his brother could do the great things he was destined to do.

Menankith was, of course, more than willing to work with Basanuth in whatever he had devised, and His just as willing to follow where he wished to go. The young woman still kept close beside him, in physical contact whenever possible, born from a desperate and deep-seated need that bordered on fear. She had been a lost little thing without him, even before she'd touched his shell and he'd pushed her even further adrift for short time. But she had him now, and while she might still be looking for herself in the aftermath of all that had happened, he would keep her anchored until they were ready to soar. He would help her to be strong enough. In the meantime, she leaned on him in more ways than one, so when he'd relayed Basanuth's invitation and his desire to go, to be with the clutchmate to whom he was closest, she had no objections, even if it meant sacrificing a little free time. Hopefully, Aurinkoth and Elzebuth would be in attendance. He might not always agree with the latter's methods or motivations, but he understood his frustrations, and even if he hadn't, his rider was as dear to Nadry as Aurinkoth's. If one or both of them came, perhaps His would be more at ease.

Her hand curled around one of his headknobs then drifted down his neck as he paced alongside her toward the chosen meeting place. Basanuth! he called out with a bugle. We are here.

His greeting for their other present sibling was...somewhat less enthusiastic. Menankith barely glanced at the bronze, but did offer a cool Aresoth.

Nadry dipped her head to the boys, a tired but polite smile curving her lips. Weyrlinghood was proving to be a lot of work, and by this time of day, she was more than ready to head to the barracks and curl up with her dragon...but today, that was not the plan. "Good evening, R'gan. C'ryn."

Looking up as he heard someone approach, R'gan was a little surprised at the first person to show up. He didn't have anything against bronzes, in fact he fully believed that the current system hurt bronzes and golds just as much as it hurt blues and greens, but Aresoth (and C'ryn from what he could tell) represented everything about the Weyr they were trying to change. R'gan, who had never been coy about his feelings on the matter, could only imagine what the bronzerider thought of him. Basanuth had more or less the same thoughts, though he seemed significantly more excited about it..

Ah! Aresoth is here! Good. I thought of some excellent arguments with which to change his mind..
Let's wait till after the practice though, Bas. R'gan said with a chuckle.
Of course. Training comes first. Basanuth readily agreed. This was only a personal matter. It could wait.

He was no less excited as the second of his brothers came to join them. Menankith! he greeted happily, running over to bump his head against his brother affectionately. R'gan half expected the brown to have dwarfed him in size by now, but Basanuth had remarkably kept pace, as though in every way, he wished to be on par with his dearest of brothers. I'm so glad you're here. We usually just practice this by ourselves, but it is so much better to work together.

R'gan stood up as well, waving to the other two weyrlings. "Hey Nadry! Hey C'ryn." He grinned, a little apologetically. "Thanks for coming.. Bas has been so excited about this. You'd think he doesn't know the meaning of the word 'break'."
I know its meaning. I just don't accept that it's necessary. Basanuth argued back. Why should they have to take a break? He could work another 20 hours at least!
There aren't even twenty more hours in the day! R'gan thought with a laugh.

"Anyway, I don't know how much he explained, but we were just going to practice message passing with images." They'd more or less gotten the hang of passing thoughts and messages, but images were harder, more likely to get warped or distorted through the process. Kind of like the old whispers game you would play as a child, but with images instead of words. "I thought it might be nice to other people around to help verify." After all, you might think an image is totally clear yourself, but it could be utterly confusing to someone else.

Demanthra followed after her green, who seemed particularly bouncy after getting the message from one of her clutchmates. It would seem Basanuth had gotten into contact with all of his siblings, to suggest a little training that they would do. The young woman wondered if the little blue ever took a break, she felt he and his rider were always busy with something. Maybe at some point she would remind them what rest was, but she put that thought to the side for now. It would give Monath something to do, so she was all for it, not like the green minded. She had practically dragged her rider out of the dorm and to where they would be meeting.

"Okay, now remember, be on your best behavior. You never know, your golden sister may show and you know you don't like to disappoint,"Demanthra reminded her dragon.

From the sounds of it, this will be like a game. I can totally handle that, she chirped up brightly. She spotted some of her siblings and bugled to them, her eyes a bright blue color.
