Stryke was so tired...not just physically but emotionally.
The minutes had blurred into hours. Days and nights had blended into one. Stryke lost count of the nights that rolled by. Weeks maybe? He didn't know anymore. The sands of time fell away, scattered and distorted within his mind. The longer he spent his nights here, the less clear things became. His body was beginning to fight him..bending his will and reshaping it. Being on a controlled schedule, and constantly on edge was taking its toll. Sleeping, even eating was regulated by the pair of Sirens. He rarely slept it seemed, and eating and drinking seemed to be more like a treat. He was beginning to lose hope, and motivation to continuously defy them. Stryke sometimes paced in his cell from pure agitation..other times he sat in the corner and merely rocked himself to pass the time.
He wanted nothing more than to leave and be back with those who mattered.
Every time he saw them, the fear they inspired made him both anxious and angry all at once. In all fairness, it wasn't like they had really beaten him to the point of bones breaking. The girls did, however, pushed him around. They taunted and generally drove Stryke to his limits daily. Bullying was a more accurate description. Constant stress tests happened throughout the evening as well. For example. It was cold tonight...more so than usual. His teeth chattered lightly as he rubbed his forearms occasionally. It was likely purposeful, he had noticed the glass container's temperature could be changed at will.
Stryke's eyes leveled a cold stare at Flydra and Scorpa a like. Stryke could faintly make out their mumbled voices most of the time, but never enough to understand them. He saw the tealblood moving towards something. His heart sank as she flipped a switch. The hissing sound of gas made his body glow faintly of his psionics. Stryke didn't have the energy to be throwing his powers around, yet the fear of being in danger had his senses on high alert. The hair on the back of his neck raised as he pulled his shirt up, hoping to keep the potentially deadly gas from killing him. If he'd been less of a troll, he'd have cried. Instead, he shot them an angry glare. If this was how Flydra planned to kill him, it was cowardly at best.
The one bit of defiance he had left was controlling whether or not he used his powers. His lip curled into a snarl, a slight tremble to his frame from anger as he looked away from the pair to the vent system pouring in gas. He thought to try and stop the mechanism...but that was exactly what the logically wanted him to do was it not? Raising a hand he began to conjure his energy...only to drop his hand limply at his side. What was the point? He was ready to accept his fate. Looking away he felt his shoulders sag in a depressed fashion. There were no means for him to escape after all.

It was a good night for a heist. To be fair, most nights were, but this one felt especially well-suited for the task. Maybe it was the fact that she was on a bit of a mission for this one, or maybe it was that Tevini's fearful explanation had prompted her to bring company along for the ride. Her apprentice never failed to make a situation as interesting as possible, after all.
Etsali flashed a grin across the clinic at Lutrin with the thought, then lifted a finger to cover it in an amused reminder to be quiet. The lights and muffled voices coming from the end of that long hallway off the main room were hard to miss. She'd made sure to let Lutrin know that the owner of the hive was dangerous, though, so it probably wasn't really necessary. Getting into the clinic had been easy enough, after all, and they were well on track to be in and out with that tealblood none the wiser.
She'd already found several things that looked like they might be useful for Tevini and thrown them into her bag before it really hit her. She was curious. What was this Flydra doing back there? She could take a quick peek without being seen, right? She glanced over at Lutrin again before easing towards that hallway, carefully keeping her steps silent.
The exam room on the end was open and lit now, voices and clinking coming out of it, and beyond that there was an open doorway into some sort of laboratory. There was probably even better loot to be found in there, come to think of it, but that was extra risky. The best hauls always were. She kept moving. As she came up along that exam room doorway, she paused, waited a beat, and then quickly sneaked a peek inside. The two trolls had their back to the door.
She slipped past and through the lab door without hesitation. Yes, this was clearly where the good stuff was. She and Lutrin could probably find a way to lock those two in their exam room so they had more time and just pick this place over, if she moved quick so- The thought process stumbled to a halt as the thief's eyes went wide. Unable to make sense of why he was here, she could only stare at Stryke.

All but crawling the walls as she shadowed Etsali through the hive, Lutrin could not have been more thrilled. She was on a heist—a real heist!! And with her master no less! Short of being named Grand Master Sneak, it was the highest honour a troll could receive. She had spent five minutes sobbing passionately into her fellow brownblood's arms before she had recovered sufficiently to accept the invitation.
Like Etsali, Lutrin had come prepared. She had donned the costume of the Black Squirrel of course, though more sophisticated than before, complete with a hood, mask, and a tool belt. She also carried a loot bag over her shoulder, and rucksack over her back for additional equipment. Her triple staff remained folded up and tucked into her belt.
Hovering over a medical table, Lutrin admired its contents. Most of the instruments were alien to her, but a few things she recognised. She picked up a pump biscuit auricular apparatus and stuffed it into her bag. She had always wanted to try her frond at being a doctor. To look the part she needed the proper equipment...
The brownblood perused the rest of the table's contents. After a moment she swept them all into the bag. In their place she left behind what looked like a rubber croakbeast toy. Across the block, Etsali grinned at her and motioned for her to be quiet. Nodding, Lutrin withdrew a pair of signs from her rucksack. Each one read, “Hee-hee!!” A moment later, she stowed them away again and hurried after her master. A half a dozen rubber croakbeasts littered the path behind her.
The exam block up ahead looked to be their final destination. Exercising about as much restraint as Etsali did recklessness, Lutrin skipped on ahead, loot bag swinging from her shoulder. A moment later, she nearly crashed into the brownblood. Lutrin lurched to a halt, wobbling forward and back as she struggled to keep her balance. In front of her, Etsali had come to a sudden stop. Lutrin peered around her shoulder to see what the hold up was.
A miserable-looking yellowblood sat in a glass cell filled with gas. Standing in front of him, notably outside the cell and with her back turned, was a long-haired tealblood. Lutrin waved cheerfully to the former and pressed a finger to her lips.

Stryke had been contemplating whether or not nightmares would be worth resting his eyes when he thought he saw movement in the shadows. Frowning, he lifted his head trying to make out what he was seeing. He was obviously so far gone he was hallucinating now. So much so, in fact, he was looking at one shocked face he recognized, and the smiling features of one he did not know.
wait..who..what was he looking at?
Slowly, the yellowblood pulled himself up off the floor...walking towards the front of the glass. Confusion showed on his face as he placed a hand on the glass...staring in disbelief. was this real..? His eyes flickered between the two trolls, tired dark circles had formed under his eyelids. Squinting he pursed his lips as he processed what was in front of him. Just maybe he wasn't completely off his rocker. A flicker of hope he had felt die in him many days ago. He made a gesture to the two trolls...frantically trying to get there attention.
They had only a few precious moments.
The pair of trolls would be back at any moment. His eyes flickered between the strange brownblood, and Etsali. Who was the other troll? Why...was he being shh'd with that gesture? It almost made him fall to his knees in his delirious state. The real question was either actually real.. Stryke was struggling, he had doubt and fear choking him like a heavy malaise. Deciding to risk trying to request their aid, he pointed in an exaggerated fashion to the switch that controlled his cell door. Stryke had watched Flydra and Scorpa use it enough times, the location was burned into his memory.
What did he have to lose? If this was another stress test, then simply would snap.
His eyes pleaded with them. pleassse. for the love of gog, pleassse get me out of here! "over..there!" He managed to say, afraid to actually speak should the pair of trolls vanish to his delusional mind...and he was left alone to his fate once more. Tapping his finger on the glass as he tried to get them to see what he was staring at, and namely pointing to desperately.
