It would have seem that when Akika asked the same question to Kaeden, that his current company seemed to be unsure of how to go about it. Though since he couldn't tell what they were thinking of, the fox spirit just assumed they hesitated not knowing if they could trust him with the answer perhaps. The kitsune had not met them himself, but he knew some people wouldn't easily trust others, not that Akika could blame him. It wouldn't be the first time his kind were approached with caution and distrust and he doubted it would be the last. For a moment Akika just wandered behind Kaeden as he looked at the camp ahead, not even expecting an answer anymore. For a moment he was distracted from Kaeden, just looking ahead, until he heard a sound from Kaeden.

The kitsune looked at them and realized what he had heard was the man taking off his goggles and the fire spirit looked at the eyes that were revealed. They looked odd, but at the same time they were intriguing. Akika tilted his head as he looked at them, his ears forward in curiosity, only perking when Kaeden's voice suddenly changed in language, it was just a loud inaudible sound to him and it didn't explain much to the lost vulpine. Curiously Akika waited if they might be trying to explain it and it indeed would seem that was what Kaeden tried to do, but was unable to. When he heard them being from another plane Akika blinked a bit, scratching his ear as he thought about it. So, Kaeden's people could travel between dimensions or planes. That was quite impressive.

However, Kaeden's mood changed so rapidly after, Akika didn't get a chance to speak about it and he sighed a bit, wondering if he had perhaps made a mistake asking his new...friend? is that what he could call it? the same question. Akika lowered his ears a bit and once more looked ahead to see the camp coming even closer and he felt kind of anxious by now. He had never been in this camp, he didn't know the people there and even though his meeting with Kaeden went alright, he would be facing probably a lot more people when they arrived. The kitsune wondered if they would all be as kind as Kaeden had been now.

A soft "Hmm?" came from the vulpine when he heard the other speak once more and he smiled a slight bit. It was good to hear he wasn't angry or anything with the kitsune. "It's alright, by what I heard when you said if, I don't think I would even understand it you could explain it." he admitted before blushing a slight bit. It wasn't very fire spirit like to be admitting their own shortcomings. But it did look like Kaeden was feeling better, judging by his smile. "Home..?" Akika repeated softly as he turned his gaze to the camp once more, his ears perked slightly as he looked at the structures ahead. "I don't think...I have a home anymore." Akika said softly as the realization hit him. With everything destroyed, the kitsune had no idea where to call home, it had always been the village and the forest. He had never even been without his parents before.

"With everything I knew gone...I couldn't even recognize the shrine when I woke up." he said and sighed. There was no trace left of the village nor the rich environment that had been around them. Essentially he had broken out of the familiar seal into a completely unknown world. From carefree young adult that still had his parents to fall back on, to what could possibly even be the last fire kitsune. Akika hoped that the latter wasn't true, but he didn't know what to expect anymore. Nothing was as it was. Absolutely nothing, except for Akika himself.

Kaeden felt bad. He noted how Akika’s ears seemed to droop after he’d shifted gears on his explanation. Later, Kaeden would have to come up with a way to explain what he was so he could avoid this situation. Though, he did worry about the masters catching wind. He knew he shouldn’t be too worried, since he was a raider and all, but being captured into servitude was always a threat. He’d seen that for himself plenty. With Siere and all the people in the camp too, it was unlikely anything could topple them. Even with whispers of war circulating, Kaeden could only believe they would come out on top. They had to.

The kitsune’s words shook him from his thoughts, and he listened to Akika. He didn’t really know what his language sounded like to others, as it sounded perfectly natural and cohesive to him, but it had always been said that it was strange. Kaeden didn’t know what caused it to be that way, maybe it was the way he imbued energy and feelings to the words? If he could find a way to get it to work with other races, it’d certainly add an interesting twist to conversations. That, and it would eliminate needless miscommunications. Human speech was so much more primitive when compared to his own people’s, it was truly a wonder.

Sensing a pause, Kaeden looked back to the Kitsune as he looked towards the structures ahead. Home… That was right, Akika didn’t really have a home anymore. That made Kaeden feel a bit worse for the guy. Though, should he accept it, Kaeden was sure that the Moit would welcome him into their fold. As a home for countless nonhumans, he’d fit in well amongst the countless different types of people. Kaeden knew it could never replace one’s original family, but Kaeden had come to see the Moit as a second family, even though he could barely remember his original.

“You know…” Kaeden started softly. The two were now ever so close to the camp, and Kaeden couldn’t help but wonder how the Kitsune would react to the camp itself. “Should you wish, I’m sure our group, the Moit could become a new home for you as well. Our boss is all for helping nonhumans, and getting them back on their feet and helping them find a new home. So… Should you wish to stay, you’d be welcome here.”

It would seem that there was a slight language barrier between Kaeden's and Akika's speech. Yet they both seemed to work quite well using common tongue. It was a language that the vulpine had been taught back in the village since there were plans to break the solitude and venture out to other cities as well as accept visitors and merchants in their own village. Akika's ears moved sideways a bit as he remembered that piece of information. Was that why the people were gone? Had they moved on? If so however, why did his parents leave behind his seal? It made little sense to the kitsune.

Had they been so full of their son's ways they had purposely abandoned him before the storm hit? There wasn't really a way to tell what happened as Akika hadn't been there consciously. Akika's ears moved forward a bit as he listened to Kaeden's words about the camp. So the people called themselves 'the Moit' was it. A new home though...as good as it sounded, the fire spirit wasn't so certain he could just accept a new home just like that. It sounded like they would be a good place to stay for a while, but the vulpine didn't really expect them to change much for him, though perhaps that was just the desperate thoughts of a young adult suddenly all by himself.

"You think they would allow me to hang around?" he asked a little surprised as well. It hadn't really been the norm yet to mix with other people. Akika grew up in an environment that had been very closed. Even though the plans had been there to mingle. Even if they wouldn't be his family and perhaps not even a home, it would be good to have a place to return to. Yet that in it's own was what a home was, was it not? A place where you could always return to and rest safely.

As they came closer he noticed for the first time the structures were very unlike what he was used to. Their people had always used wood and cloth. This material looked like neither. But perhaps it was a play of the light, or just a material he wasn't familiar with. "What are the Moit?" he asked curiously, meaning if they were a tribe or settlement. Perhaps a colony or nomads that traveled around. The fire kitsune was curious how they called themselves. Clan was a possibility too. Though 'boss' didn't sound like a chief of sorts.

Kaeden was thankful for the lessons on the common tongue he’d received from the Moit. When he’d first come to the this world, he had few ways to communicate with others. In fact, he’d not been able to communicate at all. Not that he’d had any reason to speak until he joined the raider group, but it still made him a bit nostalgic for the old days where everything seemed so much simpler. But, he digressed. Reminiscing on the past did nothing for him now, he had to focus on what was important now; and that was his home.

With the structures closer than before, Kaeden wondered if he should warn Akika about what exactly the compound was made of. It tended to be a sort of surprise for most, whether pleasant or unpleasant was up to the person, of course.Kaeden just hoped Akika wouldn’t be too turned off from it like Drathir had. If he could look past the strange furniture, Kaeden was sure Akika would find it was a pretty good group of people.

“Of course. Well, most likely. Like I said, it’s up to the boss.” Kaeden didn’t know much about Akika’s past, except that he was sealed away, but he hoped Akika would be okay after that. Sighing slightly, he crossed his arms. Now, Akika’s second question was certainly a good one. Kaeden spoke plainly, “We’re a raider group with only non-human members. Sort of a safe haven for them. We take care of our own. Though, if you asked the boss, I’m sure he’d say something like…” Kaeden shifted his tone, using a faker, deeper voice in an attempt to sound more like Siere, “We are the seed that germinates the world, we’re gonna’ spread around and… stuff.” Kaeden chuckled to himself, shaking his head. “Not word for word… of course, he’s a lot more eloquent than that, but it’s something.”

The fire kitsune sighed softly as he tried to process everything he had learned and heard in such a short span of time. There were no more forests it seemed, his people were gone, possibly extinct by some matter of storm and he was about to meet a whole group of new people right after meeting another new person. Considering the latter, Akika glanced at Kaeden nearby and wondered just what had brought him here, or how he got here. But soon his attention was brought back to the structures ahead.

Still his ears moved a bit which showed he was listening to the other's words as he studied the camp they approached. Though it wasn't all positively reassuring what he was told. It indicated there was a chance he would just be send away before long as well. If it was all up to this 'boss' man then he wasn't feeling like his journey had ended for some reason. Akika's mind changed back to Kaeden when they changed their voice suddenly and spoke however. The vulpine tilted his head at first, but then actually chuckled a little bit as he listened to Kaeden.

Even though he hardly understood what the sentence was about, it was a funny thing to hear, but then he turned back to the matter at hand. "Raider?" the vulpine asked. It was a word seldom used by his own people back then. Back then...it made it sound even further away, but for now Akika shook the thoughts away and tried to focus. Raiders weren't exactly seen like friendly nor kind people.

From what Akika heard so far they razed the world long before his people even decided to open up more to neighboring countries and lands. Yet over time it had become a necessity to be more welcoming to other races, which was why they were planning to. "Everything I heard about raiders, the description doesn't fit people open to outsiders and offering sanctuary. Unless that changed...over the years." he said trailing off a bit. Truth was if it did change he would have no idea after all. All he could do was trust Kaeden for now and see if they would even welcome him at the camp. "I hope you are right." the kitsune said softly.

"Even if it isn't home as I am used to. It would be nice to have a place to return to. Of course I am willing to help out if needed." Akika spoke his thoughts. It was true that the kitsune was always messing about and causing mischief, but right now he was mostly just lost and confused. Mischief wasn't high up on his priority list at the moment. Not to mention he had only just woken up after who knows how long a hibernation.

Kaeden hummed slightly, thinking on Akika’s words. They were certainly true, most raiding groups didn’t offer such protection or sanctuary for complete strangers, but the Moit were different. Just to non-humans, of course. Were Akika human, he probably would have been chased down by that dog and killed immediately, or Kaeden would have shot him dead. So really, they weren’t that nice a group of people, but they could be considered a bit better than others… Though Kaeden wondered just how long Akika would keep that thought in his mind after seeing the furnishings.

Hopping over some rocks out of boredom, Kaeden tried to think about how best to reply to the Kitsune. Eventually he just sighed, “Yeah, you’d be right to think that, but so long as you aren’t human, we’re not gonna be the one’s shooting first, you know?” It was good that Akika was willing to work, because no one stayed with the Moit without pulling their weight. Everyone helped out somehow. Especially with war looming on the horizon, everyone seemed to be doing their best to help out around the camp. At least, that was what Kaeden thought he felt from everyone.

“Anyways, I’m sure you’ll fit right in, so long as you’re ready to pull your own weight. Though I should warn you, the building material in the camp can be a bit unsettling to some. I don’t really mind it much, but people not used to it tend to be a bit uncomfortable at first.”

When silence filled between for a moment again, the vulpine considered his options and probabilities. Kaeden seemed nice and he would like to spend some more time with them, so even if he had more choices he might have decided to stick around for a while. Since Akika knew no one here right now, it would be wise to stick with a group as well. At least people he knew wouldn't just right out attack him. Had that really become an issue in these days? It was very different than he was used to.

The kitsune glanced at Kaeden as he noticed they hopped rocks from the corner of his eye and tilted his head slightly. They seemed relatively carefree for being in a world this destroyed. Maybe it wasn't as bad as it seemed. His ears twitched a bit when Kaeden spoke again as the fire spirit listened to what they were saying. A nod came from the vulpine as he took in the reality of things. Helping out really wasn't an issue. Right now Akika needed the help and he wouldn't ruin it by messing around with his powers.

The latter gave him some pause to think though. "Unsettling build material?" he repeated after Kaeden in some confusion. How could something to build with be unsettling? But then Akika only knew material like wood, mud, bamboo and the like. "What is it you build with then?" he asked curiously as he looked back at the camp, trying to maybe see what this material would be. The vulpine wasn't easily thrown off though. Often his curiosity knew no bounds. "Is it something new?" the kitsune asked as he tilted his head slightly.

Preparations didn’t take long. Raiders rarely needed much to go on excursions like these and many of the supplies needed were easily at hand while the camp prepared for the much larger move. The more lengthy portion of these preparations happened to be Dante’s explanation as to who they were meeting and the camp that they’d be visiting. He felt it necessary to explain mannerisms that were expected and the living furniture he’d come into contact with. And as expected, to his men, he ended the meeting before they head out with a threat. If they were disrespectful or proved to be a threat to his alliance and good standing with Siere, they’d be killed.

When Dante approached the ally raider camp he was accompanied by five men, all of which held different inhuman qualities. One of which was supposed to be Aidyn but he had never returned to camp. As far as the incubus was concerned he was dead or an enemy, and no longer had place left in this inner circle. The incubus wore similar garb to what he had before but this time the cloak over his shoulders was an olive green color.

Along with this group was a cart of food, mainly vegetables, that Dante wished to offer in thanks for the invitation as well as show another benefit of this alliance. He had knowledge of the Moit’s ability for some growth such as tea leaves, but he was uncertain where those capabilities ended. The fertile lands and the lumber from the forests were the northern raiders best tradable assets.

He didn’t expect entering the camp to be as simple as it was in the days prior, so he lead the group with caution to its outer gates. Expecting to be met with a guard or something like it.

Against Dante’s expectations, no one stopped the incubus or the small party arriving with the truck of food. They had, of course, been spotted, but the presence of the monstrous, roughly canid-looking creature padding ahead of them kept them from being interfered with. Dog was obviously relaxed, each padding step graceful and loping as it moved forward, stopped to make sure it was still being followed, before continuing on.

The Moit were, or had been until now, fairly reserved in their encounters with outsiders, and as the group moved in toward the camp proper Dante would find it strangely abandoned-looking, with those few who were moving around taking one look at the outside party and ducking oddly-formed heads away and hurrying off.

Still, distrustful or anxious as those few seemed, they were still not accosted, and allowed to continue forward.

If the group continued to the main camp, they would find a line of closed up leather structures, some built around living flesh and some simple canvas. The only open structure would be Siere’s tent, with the two human-shaped creatures that formed his doors propped open to lead inside, with each ‘door’ holding a jaunty flag. It was meant as a welcoming gesture, as well as a sign as to where the small group should go.

Confirming this, Dog would stop beside the ‘doors,’ sitting beside them.

He approach to the camp was much different than it had been in the prior visit. Dante didn’t have to hold his breath for an unknown reason it seemed, but perhaps that was simpoly because they were accompanied by dog. This creature’s kind wasn’t all that common now was it?

Additionally, the camp was far quieter than it had been as well. There were less bodies and those that were left seemed to hold questionable trust for the group. He couldn’t blame them of course, but it also peeked his curiosity as he continued to follow.

The material used for the tent like structures that they passed didn’t peak any concern, despite some of them looking odd. Though the composure of the group began to falter at the sight of the humanoid doors to the structure that they were eventually lead to. They were warned, yes, but it was still an odd sight to take in for the first time. Thankfully though, they remained quiet about it out of respect. Whether that respect was for their leader or Siere specifically was questionable.

Dante rose his hand, gesturing that they should go inside, then it fell again as he spoke to the creature that lead them here. “Thank you Dog.” He said, offering his hand if it wanted its bumpy spine to be stroked in thanks.

Whether or not that was accepted he’d step inside the tent, anticipating the sight of the other leader that was likely waiting inside. Of course though, he did this with caution in his mind. Trust had been established between them and it was a trust he hoped wouldn’t falter, but he knew the rules of these lands didn’t always align with those hopes.

[Moving to Siere’s tent]

Siere wasn’t, by nature, a showy person. He had spent 95% of his existence alternating between hiding himself and showing himself in specific, terrifying configurations meant to provoke maximal fear and avoidance.

He had tried, in the brief window he had to prepare for Dante’s visit, to create a welcoming tent, something an incubus could find interesting. If it didn’t straightforwardly appeal, Siere hoped at least Dante would recognize and appreciate the effort Siere had gone to.

He had no interest in human-looking bodies, but he’d had several with different sex organs strung up at the back of his tent, all alive and induced to sexual interest. Siere found their moans far more irritating than arousing, but he did like the striking wall of their flesh, the impressive press of them at his back wall.

He’d had his best furniture placed, figures inured enough to their fate as to be almost completely still—a glass tabletop without the slightest tremor bearing a tin kettle and small, transluscent cups; chairs mostly unrecognizable, with furs and leather and padding stitched into the living flesh for optimal comfort. Along with the teapot an the cups, a thin, bone platter displayed a number of thin cuts of meat, along with a roasted array of the admittedly crude tubers that were most numerous in the Barrens.

When Dante entered, Siere stood in a single, adroit motion, one hand braced against the skull of the top of the chair. He pushed off without a thought for the being the chair had been originally, crossing the distance in what he hoped was a welcoming and not aggressive manner.

If Dante would allow it, he would seize the incubus by the biceps, bringing his face in close to press his lips to one cheek, then the other.

”Welcome” he greeted, stepping back to indicate the tea and food and seating.

”Please, sit.” He was determined to provide maximal enjoyment. The forcibly aroused wall behind them was a spectacle; he wasn’t sure how Dante would react. Certainly it wasn’t something Siere cared about.
