A shiver ran up his exposed chest when the wind blew, erecting his nubs and sending goosebumps along his flesh. Sox frowned in the odd yet slightly pleasurable sensation then turned around once Needle was finished and he watched the rouge hop onto his metallic shaft. He cocked his head side to side trying to understand what the man was doing fiddling with snake-like objects that sparked occationally. Then a loud roar echoed and Sox literally jumped completly startled, his heart raced and hands up defensively.

It wasn't until Needle turned to beckon him close that he relaxed his pose then happily followed. Sox shuffled the person off his back and held him easily by his shoulders like a doll as he got closer to prop him onto the bike. Sitting the white haired one behind Needle, Sox perched right behind and sandwhiched the prisoner between them. He nodded firmly at the order and pinned his eyes down at the boy's mouth which was weakly saying something.

Sox's hands reached around and clung to Needle's sides, more wanting to touch him than secure himself but doing this resulted in hus cheek being smushed to the middle man's, not caring if he was being crushed im his action. The spider couldn't help but mimic the boy's frail words but as he dud it went from pitiful to a sarcastic snicker "Olly... Ollyy~ Ooolly~" he smiled and just couldn't stop thinking about what his new home would be like. /color]

                                                              --:::------::---------------------------------------::------:::---

                                                              As he waited for Kaeden's reply, Akika sniffed the air a bit for good measure. His nose was better than the vulpine's energy sense after all. It wouldn't tell the spirit if the presence was good or bad, but it did tell him if anyone was nearby whom didn't share a 'familiar' scent. No distinct scent came up really. But this didn't mean they weren't near. The others could be downwind or just a tad to far for his nose to pick up their scent, or even masked it. Akika looked up and back at Kaeden once more when their reply came and nodded. "It should be safe for now then." Akika surmised and smiled a bit. For now it seemed they could resume their search fully. Even the thoughts about home and the bonfires his friend mentioned earlier didn't occupy his mind for the moment. The kitsune was fully turning back to the search ahead.

                                                              It wasn't only necessary for the camp, but it was also a way for Akika to show that he would be an asset to the group Kaeden spoke of. That was what they were going for right? Though the vulpine wasn't helping his friend just for that reason. He genuinely wanted to help this nice and friendly person he had met. Before Akika could fully get in gear though, he suddenly felt a hand on his ear and he gave a soft melodious chur and smiled happily when Kaeden scritched his ear. Perhaps one of the moments his full fox heritage came up with more usual sounds like a fox, yet it all ended all to soon. The kitsune almost felt sorry for the fact that it didn't lest, his ears ever being highly sensitive to touches like that.

                                                              Once Kaeden had stopped, Akika had snapped out of it and watched as the other walked further towards more buildings. Nonetheless the vulpine reacted rather quickly when he saw Kaeden wave for him to follow him. Whatever was out there, he would see it in time. He was soon back at his friend's side and looked at them as they spoke, nodding to show he understood. When they paused though, Akika tilted his head and looked at them with curiosity. But it didn't seem to be anything bad and they continued further. As they approached closer, it was difficult for Akika to miss the increase in sound of people going about their business further ahead. Though it was arguably better to be cautious at all times, Akika couldn't help but feel a growing curiosity as they seemed to reach more people. The vulpine looked at his friend. They had been here more often after all.

                                                              "You warned me for people around here. But what are the people here like? They can't be to bad if you deal with them for goods. That is what a marketplace is for right? Trades?" he worded his curiosity. His voice still kept somewhat low volume, just to be safe. It wasn't something he was used to, but the vulpine guessed that this world wasn't all to reliable. In which case he had already been absolutely lucky to have run into Kaeden first of all. The spirit wondered if that luck would persist to find him a new home with the people Kaeden mentioned.

Needle rolled his head on his neck to reluctantly look at Hyena. He implicitly understood the word, and its implication.

Olly.

Needle understood. His hands tightened and loosened on his handlebars, and he looked around, searching for any witnesses…but of course there weren’t any. None that actually understood what the word meant. Sox’s sarcastic repetition was ambiguous as to whether he did or not. Needle could imagine a lost raider finding his way into Sox’s web, begging for his life…

Okay, but even if he did--who would believe Sox over him, at least with anybody that mattered? There was no real solid, undeniable reason for him to acknowledge Hyena’s plea. He imagined the pleasure of denying it, or turning into Hyena’s face and grinning down at him, making clear he didn’t give a ******** problem was—he did give a ********. He had to, at least a little. There was no reason Hyena would have the word on his tongue, but Needle had had to beg for mercy in the pits before. Two times, two miracle times when the crowd had been bored enough that they didn’t scream for his death with any enthusiasm. This was before he’d had social capital enough to send someone else into the arena for him—someone stronger and more interesting, so no one ever cared to notice.

Those people had died; Needle had lived.If they were in Slaughtered Lambs’ territory…but of course they weren’t. And he wasn’t about to leave without his life-changing surprise. But!

s**t. He took his hands off the handlebars with long-suffering slowness, placing his hands gently on top of Sox’s and moving them away before dismounting off the bike. He turned, a sour look on his face.

”You know I’m not going to just toss you away, after all that work. All three of us have a fun little date with King Kill coming up.”

His frown deepened.

”…I’ll give you one day. You get healed up, I release you, you get a head start, I get my mountain of tits. Take it or leave it, it’s all I’m offering.” He didn’t know whether Hyena could understand him or not. It didn’t really matter, he was mostly saying it for himself, telling himself that yeah, apparently this was happening.

Blowing out in an irritated raspberry, he looked to Sox.

”Change of plans, babe. We’re camping out tonight. I know a place.”

Back at Hyena, <******** around and I’m taking you right home.”

Sox leaned back when Needle hopped off the metal thingy and talked to the boy he was supposed to be guarding. The words the wild man said were confusing and the dear spider barely grasped any of it - Why release what he just captured? What's a mountain of tits?? Soxxum sat there with a scrunched up look on his face trying to make sense of it but his attention quickly snapped over to Needle's lips again when he was spoken to. Camping? Oh~! Yes! He had heard of this one, Sox didn't feel too disappointed they were not going home yet since this would be another interesting date to attend to with his special someone. Oh~ His spidery cheeks flushed in anticipation.

The arachnid felt the silver boy's pulse rise in his hold along with a build-up of tension, he could feel the boy's heart racing from his promise of healing but Sox.. well, he didn't care about what they spoke about. In fact, he narrowed his eyes and suddenly shoved the white-haired boy off the bike with force. He felt he a burning urge swelling inside of him which made him do that then a slight smirk played on his lips as he looked down at the squirming half conscious toy, kicking his heels against the bike in the joy he looked back at Needle. "I'm ready~" he smiled.

Like a switch he suddenly looked concerned "Oh no- you fell!" he hopped off the bike and picked up the boy from the floor, clutching him tight into a hug (though it was more of a breathless squeeze) and waited for Needle to rejoin the threesome ride.

                                                        Thankfully the markets weren’t too far from the main streets, or Kaeden would have felt more uneasy than he already did. Call him paranoid, but any danger presented by the so-called rulers of the streets was too much for him. Kaeden wasn’t about to risk anything when being locked up was a possible end result. Perhaps he’d been a bit hyperbolic when he said it was absolutely unsafe. The markets generally had trustworthy shopkeepers and the like, but masters and their lackeys would still prowl about the place, looking for easy targets. So Kaeden assumed, anyways. He wasn’t about to take his chances and be completely forthright and outgoing in the city.

                                                        “Well…” Kaeden began, scratching his head as he made his way towards the markets. He kicked at the stones alongside the road, casually adjusting his goggles on his face. Taking a deep breath, he tried to get his thoughts straight. He replayed all the times he’d been there before, trying to find accurate descriptors for describing what the people were like. “It’s sort of… like a precaution. Generally people who run businesses don’t want their customers running off and getting taken in by whatever person decides to keep them locked up. So it’s safer around there. On the other streets with less foot traffic, it’s still dangerous.”

                                                        Whilst he spoke, he made faint gestures with his hands absentmindedly. He seemed focused on the task at hand for the moment.

                                                        As the two walked, they finally came upon the markets. Many different stalls and storefronts awaited them, some with bright, eye-catching colors and others more subtle. Kaeden couldn’t help but let out a soft sigh, “Alright! So, we’re looking for useful stuff. Medicine, materials. Stuff like that. Easy enough, right?” He nodded to himself, crossing his arms

                                                              --:::------::---------------------------------------::------:::---

                                                              While he waited for the other to reply, Akika allowed it all to sink in that he learned so far. The land as he knew it was gone. He was possibly the only survivor of his specific tribe. The land was changed and had become desolate, barren and by all sound cruel. The vulpine couldn't remember any talk or signs of slavery back before he was sealed. People generally got along and were on equal terms. He knew that much from books and passing travelers. Now it would seem he had to keep in mind that danger was at every turn. It was enough to make anyone paranoid. Though the fire spirit couldn't help but feel the flame of curiosity burning. This world, though he never saw it before either, was so intriguing.

                                                              When Kaeden finally replied though, Akika looked at him and flicked his ear as he listened. It made sense if the world was so dangerous by now as they said. "I see. You would almost think that danger lurks in every shadow. Though I am sure that is not the case exactly, I'll keep an eye out for suspicious behavior and people." he said and smiled, before he chuckled a bit. "Though had I not met you before this all, I guess you would have fit the description of 'suspicious'." he teased only slightly. He was still getting to know Kaeden after all and he didn't know what kind of jokes, if any, they would be alright with. Though with his goggles on that hide his eyes, he would seem suspicious to people that didn't know him.

                                                              Soon enough they came to the markets and Akika was distracted once again after nodding that he understood about medicine and all. He never had the chance to see a market before after all. So this was so new to him. And even though it probably didn't stand up against how this city used to be, for Akika it was still an amazing and interesting place. For a moment he wasn't sure where to look first with the wares being offered. Though nonetheless he kept in mind why they had come here and despite his wandering mind he stayed in earshot and sight of Kaeden, just as he had promised he would. The kitsune might wander off a few times just to look at merchants that caught his attention for other than the wares they needed, but he wouldn't go to far.

                                                              Akika soon came to realize he didn't really see 'medicine' around the place though. But then all the medicine he knew were herbal and not kept in boxes or makeshift packages. Their people had always made herbal medicine at the time that it was needed the most, so fresh. But herbs had been plentiful and they always knew where to find them. He did see one storefront selling wood and some odd iron and steel parts that really didn't make sense to the kitsune, but they sold wood so it would work right? "How about that one?" he asked Kaeden and pointed out the merchant selling the materials and parts.
