The beds though made of wood are actually oddly comfortable, the blankets are decently warm and the pillows in good condition. A few small oil lamps dimly light the room, not the best but it's better than nothing.
Yuki followed the elf boy when he recognized the familiar paths and soon, the inn they had visited before. He only stared in surprise as Ayluin called for the owner then turning to him talking about resting in his room for the time being. While Yuki would outright refuse going into someone else's room, there's nowhere else for his friend to rest in right now. Part of him is quite angry for not staying here longer. If they had, they wouldn't be in a situation like that in the forest, with one having to stay behind by himself for their safety. And mostly he is angry at himself. He knew the raiders are a dangerous bunch, why had he suggested going there for a place to rest when the area itself isn't as safe as this one? He wanted to smack himself for his stupidity.
He followed the elf to his room and gave him a soft thank you before gently putting Seimei on a bed then leaning against the wall with a hand pressed on his side. He could already feel the wound healing, although a bit slower, but the pain is still there. He shouldn't move too much to prevent it opening again. And with the danger out of the way, exhaustion finally took its toll on him as he slid down to the floor, no energy to even make his way to the other bed.
"Just a little rest..." He muttered to himself and closed his eyes. Normally, he wouldn't lower his guard in a room owned by someone else or with someone else but he'll make an exception for now. Seimei and that boy are trustworthy. Besides, he'll only need a few hours of rest to regain the energy he lost. He's not injured as badly as Seimei.
His last thoughts were of his friend before sleep took over.
After a while, the nekomata stirred slightly before he slowly opened his eyes. Slightly surprised to feel such a soft ground under him. As his eyes did his best to focus the room began to take shape, though he couldn't tell where he was. He wasn't in the forest anymore, that was for sure. His gaze went over his surroundings before he carefully tried to get up. Once he leaned to the side more though he gasped and uttered a soft sound of pain when he moved his weight on his injured arm. To his surprise it had yet to show signs of healing when he looked at it, though the bleeding seemed to have stopped for now.
Seimei forced himself to put some weight on it so he could at least sit up and he rubbed his arm, leaning back against the pillow for a moment. By now his vision had settled and he saw he was in a room, well kept, a soft bed with white sheets though it had traces of his blood from earlier. When he looked at the ground next to him however, he was surprised by the vision of Yuki leaning against the wall. Part of him had expected the other to have left him behind and saved himself, yet here they were. The feline got up as quickly as his body allowed for right now and knelt next to the other.
For a moment he feared the worst seeing him sit like that, but when he placed a hand on his companion's neck he felt his pulse and noticed he was breathing. Seimei sighed a bit in relief, while at the same time touched that it would seem they had brought him all the way here. He couldn't really think of a different way he got here. "You could have ran and saved yourself..." he muttered softly before he allowed himself to fall back against the bed, still feeling slightly tired. It was there that he would wait for Yuki to wake up. As much as he wanted to help the other into bed in turn he knew that his arm currently made it more liable he would drop them and get them hurt even more.
He must have slept longer than he thought since he woke up feeling well rested and less likely to kill someone. That's a good sign. The wanderer stretched his arms up and soon regretted it when the pain reminded him of his injury, although not as painful as it was before. Having demonic powers have its advantages, as much as he disliked his demon blood.
When he looked up, he saw Seimei awake. Yuki is relieved that the nekomata looked quite fine if a bit tired. The injuries seemed to have healed a bit but they are still there. He let out a sigh of relief and stood up, wincing from the feeling of sitting on the floor for too long. "You're awake. I'm glad." He said with a small smile and went beside the bed. "How are you feeling?"
His eyes went from examining the injuries to the blood on the sheets and he flinched. He'll apologize to the elf later. For now, his attention is on his friend. He's sure Seimei is curious about what happened after he passed out so he'll answer what he can. And then maybe he'll let Seimei rest some more. He looked like he needed it.
The feline had been resting his head on the bed for a bit. But when Yuki moved, his ears twitched and he looked at his friend before giving him a smile. "It's good to see you up and about as well." he said, his voice still a little tired but good overall. When he heard the question he sighed a bit. "I'm not feeling to weird, except tired, yet it seems the bite will take time to heal, even with my blood heritage." he replied but he wasn't going to worry about it to badly just yet. It might just take a bit longer and of course he had a lot less energy.
"Thank you, Yuki. I admit I was surprised to find out you hadn't abandoned me." he admitted. "How are you feeling? That was quite a bad shock you got there." he then asked, worried a bit remembering the electric attack the other feline had used. They both were quite damaged and wounded, though it seems all injuries healed normally except for his arm. Seimei rubbed his arm as he waited for Yuki to react to his question in turn. Curious to know if he felt quite better as well.
Seimei had sat up a little so his friend could join him at the bed. Noticing his glance at the blood, the feline lowered his ears a little. "It stopped bleeding." he said, taking the glance as a hint of lingering worry about his injury. "I don't know what happened after I got us out of there. Were we followed, did they hurt you again? And how did we get here?" he asked softly, tilting his head a little when he asked the latter question, flicking his ear in curiosity.
Yuki nodded and sat on the edge of the bed. At least that's good, although a little worrying. He'll definitely let Seimei get some rest after this until someone comes. The wanderer even looked surprised about what Seimei admitted to him. "What are friends for?" He replied to that with a shrug. Even if they were complete strangers, Yuki didn't like leaving someone behind in a dangerous situation unless he really needed to or was forced to. His mind wandered back to that neko. Hopefully the man is safe. The elf boy and his companion-Bardo, was it?- are going to his aid, right? That he hoped.
"I'm... fine" He answered. Being electrocuted again is not a good experience. He'll be careful next time. "I'm not the one who got burned by a dragon and bitten by a werewolf. Besides, that was just to paralyze me." Yuki proceeded to tell Seimei about what happened after he collapsed, about the two who let them stay in the inn they're in now, and what they done to ensure they arrived safely.
"I am still worried for the other one." He said after the long explanation. He felt guilty, still, and he looked away from his friend to the floor. "I'm sorry. I was the one who suggested goimg to the forest. If only I hadn't..." He muttered shakily.
Seimei smiled a bit as Yuki sat on the bed, but he himself didn't move from his spot just yet. Movement was made difficult at this moment, but he was convinced he would heal up eventually. The other's surprise didn't escape his gaze and he shook his head. "Indeed...what are friends for." he said, his voice perhaps a tad melancholic as he thought about it. His experience with this wasn't to well considering his 'friends' were the crew and they turned against them. He soon focused back on Yuki though.
The feline nodded when they answered him and smiled once more. "That is good to hear. I am glad you are feeling better." he spoke with genuine concern. When Yuki mentioned the rest he couldn't help but chuckle a bit though he soon stopped as the movement was making his arm sting, causing him to flinch. After that he just listened as Yuki explained what had happened after Seimei had collapsed. Considering all that happened he must have been out of it for a while.
"I see. Thank you Yuki, for showing a skeptic made cat there are still genuine friends out there." he said and smiled gently. One thing was for sure, he felt he could trust this male. They could have left him behind to save themselves, but chose to drag him along as an extra weight, even though injured themselves. How could Seimei deny that Yuki was trustworthy at least? When Yuki apologized though, the feline's smile faded, his ears drooping low and he pushed himself up with some difficulty to sit down next to Yuki. He was feeling completely zapped and his body was hurting. Seimei knew he wouldn't be able to use his shadow skills again until he would be at full recovery.
Once he sat he placed the hand of his healthy arm on Yuki's shoulder and shook his head. "You asked me if it was wise to go there as well remember?" Of course he had neglected to say anything about the raiders till they were there, but Seimei wanted Yuki to not beat himself up. Not make it worse. "I was to carefree to consider the consequences. It's not your fault." he added. "We escaped and thanks to you I'm sitting here instead of somewhere out there in a cage or worse, gotten killed while I was down." he encouraged him a bit.
Yuki noticed the melancholy on the other's voice as he spoke and blinked. Had something happened with Seimei that involved his friends? He took note to be careful about the subject as he smiled.
It is hard to find genuine friends in this world. It is like finding a needle in a haystack. "The world is full of s**t, but there are some good things if you look hard enough." He said.
It was a surprise when he felt the nekomata move and lay a hand on his shoulder. He took a sharp breath and looked at his friend in surprise before relaxing. He'll pretend he didn't have a mini heart-attack from the action. Seimei's words got him to feel a bit lighter but the guilt is still there, just so small now. He looked away from the nekomata and nodded. "... You're right. Thanks." He mumbled. "You're supposed to be resting, you idiot. Go lie back down."
Some things will have to get used to if he were to have someone in his life again. Maybe it is time to change that.
When Yuki gasped a bit, Seimei feared he had hurt him a bit somehow. Yet the expression on his friend's face wasn't one of pain, it was...fear? The feline didn't worry about it for to long though, as Yuki spoke more. The nekomata wasn't sure what Yuki was thanking him for, Seimei owed him his life after all. He lowered his hand and smiled a bit. But when his friend spoke again and called him an idiot he looked at them surprised for a moment, before he started laughing once more until his arm reminded him to hold still.
"Alright, alright. I'll get to bed." Seimei teased the other and smiled a bit. Though he knew Yuki was right about the resting part. If he were to heal fully, he needed rest. And the bite injury turned out to be a very slow mender. Still he didn't feel different otherwise, except for still extremely tired, so he expected it would be just fine. After his promise to his friend, Seimei re-positioned himself and careful crawled under the blankets. He wouldn't worry to much about the blood now, it was a little off the side either way.
Due to his tired state, it didn't take Seimei long to fall back asleep once he rested his head on the pillow. His ears moved down slowly until they were fully relaxed and his breathing turned to a calm one soon after. He didn't sleep as long as he had the first time however, yet this sleep while he wasn't as exhausted served to replenish the remaining energy that he could muster without feeding of negative energies. This time he wasn't disorientated like he had been the first time and he got up carefully, rubbing his eyes before looking towards where Yuki was to see if they were doing alright.
Yuki slowly stood up when he made sure Seimei is asleep so as to not disturb the nekomata. He would go rest himself, the other bed looked inviting, but decided against it. He's really not in the mood to sleep right now. Playing with his weapon is also out of the question, seeing as he dropped it back in the forest. Try out his power? No, too dangerous. He did't want this in to end up destroyed. He sighed and removed his cloak to toss it to the vacant bed. There are spots of dried blood on it that had the wanderer frowning and looking at himself.
There are visible scratches on his body with some that are on the process of healing. There's some ripped part of the shirt now, revealing the gash wound that was now healing. There are some dried blood spots as well that are sticking to his pale skin. He looked like hell...
He ended up just sitting on the window and staring at the sky while waiting for his companion to wake, thinking about what they should do from now on. Should they stay here? North is probably out of the question and he's not sure if they should go to the other areas either. The experience left him paranoid. He turned around to look at Seimei and saw him awake.
Seimei smiled back to Yuki when he saw them smile and carefully pushed himself in a sitting position. For his luck, the pain from his arm had turned into a dulling sensation. Perhaps a sign it was healing. "Hey..." he replied and moved to turn to the side of the bed. Carefully the feline got up, just in case but he noticed he was feeling a lot better. A bit more confident, Seimei moved to join Yuki at the window and looked outside to see if there was anything interesting to look at.
To him it just seemed the same old scene as he saw before however. With a slight sigh, he sat down across of Yuki. "Have you rested at all?" he wondered curiously, looking at the other bed that now held the discarded cloak. If he had to guess then he thought Yuki not rested since they brought him here and Seimei found them against the wall.
From the bed his gaze went over himself as well as his companion and he shook his head a bit and chuckled slightly. "It looks like we could both benefit of a good wash." he said and smiled. Though he wasn't sure if this place had a shower or bath they could use for it. If it was a shared one, their blood and dirt from the fight would definitely contaminate the water to an extend.
He is relieved to see the nekomata at least feeling a bit better as he joined Yuki on the window. There isn't really much to see, really, and he was just there to think. He didn't even look when Seimei asked. "A few hours' rest is fine," He answered, "I don't feel comfortable sleeping for too long in someone else's room, as tempting as it is."
At the mention of needing a wash, the wanderer just raised a brow. He is well aware of how dirty they are with all the dirt and blood. "Is it alright?" He asked before a thought occurred to him. Seimei isn't thinking about going in a bath together, right?
... Gods damn it, he's taking his thoughts from earlier back. He's not ready for things like this.
"Y-You can go first when we see one. I'll do so after you're done." He mentally kicked himself for stammering and got off from the window, walking away to the bed to hide his flustered expression.
"I see. I'm glad it is enough though." he spoke and smiled a bit. He wouldn't inquire more about it if Yuki himself told him it was fine. When they replied to his question though, it seemed they weren't sure they could take a shower here, but those thoughts were soon banished when Yuki suddenly reacted oddly and walked off.
The stammering was new, as was him just briskly walking away as that since their first meeting. Granted it had only been about a day. The feline tilted his head with some concern, his ears lowering a bit as he watched the other. "Did I say something weird? I apologize if that is the case." the nekomata said, not wanting to be cause of undue stress to his new friend. Or more undue stress since the other already brought him all the way here.
Seimei sighed a bit and looked away and out of the window. It had been such a while since he socialized with anyone other than a pirate. Had he done something wrong? The feline thought about it to himself as he stared at the places outside. It wasn't much to look at of course. The place looked rather abandoned even. From that his mind wandered to the man, Yuki said left behind for them, hoping they would be alright as well. Of course also hoping the boy was doing well.
Yuki looked at Seimei when the nekomata apologized. He waved a hand as he let the blush fade from his face. "No, you didn't say anything wrong. I just had a... weird thought." He said. "Don't mind me."
He never really liked having himself somewhat bare with someone unless he trusted the person. His friend and the thieves back then had that spot. Seimei already proved himself trustworthy by saving them from the raiders in the forest. Shouldn't that be enough? Yuki knew it wasn't. Besides, they only knew each other for a day.
His friend did say he opens up to people he trusted easily, him being the example of that. Already he's showing sides of himself that one don't think they'll see him doing.
And speaking of the nekomata, Seimei looked deep in thought. Yuki sighed and scratched the back of his head before shrugging and walking towards the boy. He doesn't know if he's right with the idea of what Seimei is thinking right now. He doesn't know the right words to say so he just put a hand on the nekomata's head as a somewhat comforting gesture, mindful of the ears, as if to say Don't worry about it.
It was good to know that he hadn't said anything bad, but it was still a little vexing to be confused with how to deal with other people. On the ship it had been rather easy, not to mention he had years to learn how the crew was, mostly. Everyone was just as open and at times even rude as another. While in thought he didn't pay much attention to his surroundings, so when he suddenly felt a hand on his head he startled a bit and his ears perked while his tail thickened a little. But when he turned a bit and saw it was Yuki he relaxed and even closed his eyes a bit.
It had been ages since anyone even touched his head like that. It reminded him of the captain, but he refrained from showing it on the outside. The man had done it regularly. Seimei gave Yuki a thankful smile. "Thank you, my friend." he said, his thoughts tossed aside for now. If he really had gotten so behind on social interactions other than pirates, perhaps it was time to learn a new way.
Had he touched the nekomata's ears he would probably have purred. As long as he trusted the one doing it, he could really enjoy such attention, not caring if it made him look like some pampered pet. "What will we do now?" he then wondered out loud. Back to the forest seemed like a bad choice right now and he had no clue about the other directions. When still at sea you could at least go everywhere you wished. Not that the feline had even seen a sea around here.
