The drive over to Oliver and Elliot's place was short. Today, he was supposed to pick up Ollie, finally have that sleepover that kept getting postponed and postponed and magic was stupid sometimes. He sighed. However, Horace had been thinking, possibly too much. He'd finally been forced to admit that his little 'practice' dates with Oliver weren't really practice. And his hangouts with Elliot felt like dates, too.

In short, he was getting in the way of their relationship. Ellie like Oliver; he knew that, this Oliver, even - he knew that from the way his voice warmed when he talked about Ollie, from the way his expression changed. And Ollie, though he'd been hesitant at first, was trusting Elliot more and more. There was a thread of warmth that hadn't been there when they started this... this charade. This was going to hurt a ******** lot, but he needed to stop interjecting himself into people's lives, screwing them up, being himself. Get out before you make it collapse.

Horace had been standing in front of their door for a bit now and, slowly, he raised his hand to knock heavily on the door.

"Hey, are you guys both in today?"

Oliver had been running around the apartment all morning making sure he had an even mixture of the essentials and things he might need. That was to say, he was going to have a sleep-over for the first time in however long and he had to make sure he was adequately prepared. Oliver Beaumont was not unprepared. He'd also been yammering about it all morning to Elliot (while simultaneously insisting that he wasn't that excited for it).

Truth was it had an even mix of nervousness, because Oliver had popped that question to Eli a few days ago and, while he'd gotten the answer he was looking for, it also complicated things, because he undeniably liked Horace in the same way he undeniably liked Elliot, which was awkward all on its own anyway. Still, he'd been planning to hang out, have a good time, probably have a similar conversation with Horace, get all his ducks in a row...

He was holding a bundle of fluff in his arms (see: Chai) when he answered the door. "Oh hey," He had a dumb smile, Chai was murbling, Nosey was inching out from around the corner like a ******** creep and Pascal was probably... somewhere. "Yeah, Eli's in the other room doing some...thing." Oliver didn't actually know what and it made him purse his lips. "I dunno. Elliot! We have company."

Not that Eli would be unable to tell who it was. Horace was a very particular individual.

"Here, step in for a little." He held the door open with one arm, Chai obviously bundled in the other.

Pascal, with his incredible ears, obviously caught wind of the small commotion in the living room far before Elliot did. Without regret, he abandoned his cushion on the floor of the bedroom, tail a-wagging, claws a-clacking. He was gone before Eli could say boo. There were worse tragedies, he supposed.

It was easy to guess what had caught his attention, though, since Oliver hadn't breathed as many times today as he'd mentioned his get together with Horace. That was fine, Eli was glad to see him happy, even if he couldn't help thinking it might be nice to join them.

"I'm coming!" he called when he finally heard Ollie's announcement, untangling himself from the pretzel he'd been and puddling uselessly on his yoga mat for a moment. He looked at the ceiling, he took a deep breath. "Coming, coming," he said again, this time to no one but himself as he stretched up from the floor.

"Hello, darling." When he joined them in the living room, he was still wearing his workout clothes. Pascal was pressed to Horace's leg and Eli had to do a small side step to avoid splatting Nosey. "Wooonderful to see you."

He reached out to pet Chai almost out of reflex. "Hey, Olliebee." And then he petted Pascal and wiggled his fingers at the sneakiest sneak, Nosey. They were impossible to ignore, but he was only putting off the inevitable. Horace looked at Oliver and then at Elliot like he was trying to burn their images in his mind. Here comes Horace Nokoni, he thought, here to confess how much of a horrible person he is.

"Hello, sunshine, good pants." He meant it, but felt immediately guilty for saying it. "Before we go, I wanna talk to the both of you about something." He managed past the animals and towards the living room without being invited. He was going to say his thing, but he still wanted the few moments of composing himself that the walk towards the couch would give him.
