It had been another successful night at the cafe. Amonee caught himself yawning after the last few customers had wandered out. There was still a bit of cleaning left to do but the sun was due to rise soon. He ushered Nucleo upstairs to bed. The barista needed to be well rested by the time the sun set for the early evening rush. Which left the cleaning to Amonee.
Packing a dishwasher was never an easy task for the jadeblood. He was often too preoccupied with trying to make sure everything was parallel with each other in nice patterns than trying to get as much as he could shoved into the machine. Oops, he almost grabbed the tip jar to slip inside by accident. Everything was a jar here, the cups, the supplies, could anyone really blame him? Amonee put it back in its place. He closed the dishwater door and set it to start.
"I wish Xavier had come tonight." He mumbled to himself, rinsing out some of the remaining jars by hand, the ones with delicate paint on the outside. It was too quiet working here alone after hours. His lusus didn't come here with him much anymore, finding it much nicer to laze at home now that Amonee was big enough to protect himself.
In order to fill up the silence, he turned the volume down on the Nightly Grind's sound system and softly played Frossa's single from Superstar Authority. Nucleo couldn't get mad at him for playing it while he was asleep after all.
"Pon pon, wei pon pon-" He set back to work, lightly singing the nonsense to himself.

Today was a day for adventure!! The young jadeblood had tried to be insistent on going to a larger city during the day to wreak some havoc, but Mother was having none of that. As their back and forth went on into the early rays of the morning, the overly eager young boy's lusus finally met him in the middle by allowing them to venture to Busthind. It wasn't quite a city, so hopefully Meechi couldn't cause too much trouble, but there was still a high enough population that the little rabble rouser could break a few mailboxes.
That of course was exactly what the young troll was doing as he raced up and down the dusty mountain streets. Eyes peeled for any hives displaying massive royalist decor or banners. He would take his little toy wooden shield and bash at their mailbox until it was effectively useless, with a triumphant "Take that!!" At least he was lucky enough to have daylight as a more metaphorical shield.
Mother tailed behind him, shaking her head disapprovingly, wishing he were more in one of his moods to explore the desert. Luckily for the stressed out lusus, her keen skills of observations keyed in on a little cafe, that peculiarly still had some lights on and an open sign?
Sweetie, she cooed, lowering his shield right before he was about to strike again with one of her insectoid legs, and pointing to the shop front with the other. a shop seems to still be operating while the sun is high in the sky.
Normally Meechi wouldn't give a sewerbeasts behind about some shop, but operating in daylight? No...it couldn't be..."Let's check it out Mother!" The all too relieved lusus followed her exuberant charge as he barreled up to the cafe and through the door, making sure there were no traps set and giving Mother the all clear to follow him in.
"HELLO!?" He called out with cupped hands. The virgin mothergrub placing a claw over her mouth to remind him to use his inside voice.
Yamashii Here comes the trouble maker!

Amonee froze. Some one was entering the shop. His eyes flickered to the windows to check, yep, the sun was up by now. That was concerning. Amonee set down his work and turned to see the troll proudly standing in the cafe, proclaiming a cheerful greeting. His skin was tanned by the sun's rays. That meant this child was a...
"Hello, welcome to the Nightly Grind! But I suppose right now, it's morning!" The painter looked over Meechi curiously, excited to meet another jadeblood. Amonee would not claim that their color was rare but rather, it was hard to connect with the others. He himself had been spending more time active during the nights lately and it was hard to tell if someone else was immune as well to the sun unless they were actually walking around in it.
"That means, you must be a jadeblood? It's so wonderful," Amonee walked closer and crouched down to Meechi's level, "To meet others! I'm Amonee Brycer, what's your name?" The music continued to blare over the speakers but for once, the teen wasn't actually listening to it!
Briefly, the thought crossed his mind that he had forgotten to lock the front door as part of his clean up duties but thankfully, Nucleo wasn't down here to notice.
