[GREENFLIGHT] Stars Be Your Guide

Soltoth continued to race after the starlit green, but though he'd been right there with her for the majority of the flight, it was here that he simply didn't have the agility of the smaller dragons in order to keep up. And in the final moment, her lovely form began to shrink smaller as she pulled away from him. Ah, but she was a joy to watch, either way!

S'rse grinned when Seikih smiled at him, going to sit by the other side of her on the bed. She probably never thought they'd be in this situation (he certainly hadn't!) but Soltoth did like to surprise. And maybe it was his subtle hint for him to get out more.. Though some borrowed portion of Soltoth's confidence had carried him here, in truth, it was rather unlikely the unwieldy bronze would win the night. Still, at least he could be there to offer support, if it was needed.

He glanced back at the door where the other man was waiting. "I think you have a secret admirer." he joked softly, bumping her shoulder with his own as he nodded towards the door.

Orodreth's call to him made Cath falter slightly in surprise, but the unmistakable joy in his bugle, the way his twisting flight after Kath seemed to grow more energetic, more flashy—the brown's delight at his brother's presence was as clear as the beauty of the green's fine star-spun hide! Brother! Isn't she lovely? I should have known you'd be here, our clutch deserves only the best after all, right? The brown would have to find his blue friend later...he watched with some pride as the lighter, smaller dragon sped even further ahead, twisting towards the green. Maybe he'd be her choice? She could do no better, honestly, though of course he still wanted her himself.

Then again, there'd be more greens. And there were plenty of handsome males here too, already in the air! If he couldn't catch the green, well...he wasn't going to complain if it was blue or brown or bronze he could twine about, as long as everyone was enjoying themselves!

Orodreth was happy when his brother acknowledged him. He let out another trill towards him, beaming with pride as he chased after Kath. His focus went back on her as he mirrored her movements, keeping up with her easily. Lovely Kath, dear Kath. Let us streak across the sky and be the envy of all others.

Tyra slipped back into her weyr, deciding not to go to the green rider's home weyr. She would stay here, locked up with her books. Even if Orodreth would disapprove of it, she just didn't want to go there, a woman among all the other male riders who chased the dragon.

Seth let out a bugle, beating his wings as hard as he could. His agility wasn't up to par, though, and he found himself trying to not crash into any weyrs or walls as he followed Kath into the bowl. She was tiring, he could tell, but him NOT tiring wasn't necessarily a good thing. Dearest Kath, surely you're tired by now? Curl up with me, I can be a wonderful shoulder for you to lay your weary head upon!

The flight was going to end soon, K'san guessed. He smiled at Seikih, still playing, then looked up as two others entered. One she gave a great smile to, somebody she knew much better. He shifted, allowing more room. Would this be the lucky rider, whose dragon would catch Kath? He closed his eyes, seeing through Seth's. The brown was just not nimble enough, was he? Silly Seth! He'd be grouchy, but K'san could yet find somebody after the flight.

She was tired, and ready to make her choice. Slowly, as she inched upwards, she spread her wings and let herself fall in to the claws of Blue Odoreth. He was a beautiful male, after all, and as she twined with him, her laughing mind brushed his, Dearest Odoreth, you are my choice. Let us fall together like stars, sing to me songs as you will. I am yours. Oh, she was excited to find a mate for the night, quietly encouraging her Rider to find a mate as well.

Taking a shaking breath in as Kath was Caught, Seikih offered S'rse a laugh, "Y-yeah...You and that boy, as w-well as...K'san." Shards and shells, she needed someone to choose who would be staying here, if at all, "L-lots of admirers...and she got taken by a blue..." One of the ones with a female rider, if she remembered right, but the feelings were far too strong now, awkward....

J'iah felt his brown's glee, but not the kind he'd been hoping to feel, as he peered into her weyr from the dark doorway. He'd been a few seconds too late for the flight's completion and gave a soft smile as he bowed out to leave the lady to her suitors. A night without a warm body in his bed was nothing new for the man, and she hoped the green's rider found her company this night pleasant. She deserved that much, after a flight like that!

Ripzareith made his way to the bowl to meet J'iah, and he smiled, patting his dragon's haunches and chuckling. "Do not worry, my friend. You'll catch the eye of a girly soon." He hugged the great head and hopped aboard to go back to his own weyr-area and rest with his dragon.

K'san stopped his playing, inhaling as Kath was caught. It hadn't been Seth this time. He blinked, as if waking from some kind of spell, then looked to Seikih. He gave a bow, ever the gentleman, "I will give you peace, not to worry." He smiled, rising. Standing was, by now, a bit uncomfortable. "All's fair when dragons fly, as it is." He hummed, going back to playing his gitar as he wandered out, just as easily as he'd arrived. He'd have to find somebody to spend time with, and-

One of the kitchen girls, on her way elsewhere after being interrupted by the flight, caught his attention and he hers, and the last anybody would hear from K'san the rest of the day was his playing as he left with the kitchen girl.

Seth settled into a spiral, easy and gentle after the strain of flight. He let out a mournful bugle at having lost, before returning to his own weyr and couch. At the least, K'sanhis was having a good time, and to Seth that was enough consolation.

The flight was over and, unsurprisingly, Soltoth was not the winner. The rider of the one that was didn't seem to be here though. Not that that meant much anyway. It might be the tradition, but there was nothing that said that the rider and dragon had to make the same choice.

It was a little awkward though.. The left over feelings of the flight meant he'd really like to be kissing her right now, but he knew he wasn't the only one in the room. He leaned his arms back on the bed, hand covering Seikih's casually. "Yeah.. Your choice." he said, smiling back at her. He was surprised when K'san got up to leave. A romantic Harper, serenading her through the night, he seemed like the better choice. He almost said something, but Seikih could stop him if he was the one she wanted. In which case, of course, he would be happy to leave.

Meanwhile, ever the graceful loser, Soltoth peeled off from the pack, gliding back to his weyr like it was where he'd been heading all along. He gave an encouraging bugle to the happy couple, like he was just glad to have been along for the ride. Meh. No big. At least, that's the attitude he projected. Only his rider would know that he was disappointed.

Pointedly ignoring Kath's egging on, lost only in the feeling, her hand curled around S'rse's own. He was someone she'd known. They'd been candidates at the same time, their Dragons from the same clutch. Taking a shaking breath in, she turned so her body was facing his, not really sure much of how this was supposed to go. Any time she'd done this, it'd been during Flight, "...I'm going to pick you, S'rse." And with that, she kissed him, warm and sure. May as well let Kath lead her in to something more.

He had never been over confident that he would be the one the lovely green would pick, but with Kath turned back towards him, he was ready to accept her. Orodreth caught her in his claws, curling his tail with his so that they were intwined together. He let out a croon at the feel of her laughter entering his mind. She was such a lovely lady and he was very lucky to have been chosen by her. Loveliest Kath, you do me such great honor by choosing me. We will be the envy of all.

Tyra smiled as she was holding onto the door to her weyr, her eyes closing some as she felt herself overwhelmed by the feelings Orodreth was going through. He was trying to urge his bonded to find a mate of her own for the night, but she retreated back into her weyr, though the door was left open, she was not worried about anyone entering. Instead, as the feelings were retreating and leaving her with a headache, she returned to her work.
