Ylevä was a one of the pairs of shoulders that bumped into Burka. Lions were perhaps the animal least capable of being sheepish, but he gave an apologetic half-smile and a nod to the lioness. Swallowing his own morsel of breakfast, the lion then cleared his throat, perhaps feeling like he could still remedy the situation more.
"It is a good day to die, mm?" His pale, golden eyes glanced at the sun cresting over the horizon with scarcely a cloud to obscure it. He had woken up to many grey and miserable mornings with salty winds that stung the eyes and nose and any wounds one'd had won. The large, blue male had grown up in the pride and even despite its less-attractive fits of weather, he would not have traded his title of Reaver of the Stormborn for even a kingship in any other pride.
The male had planned his schedule loosely to allow him to look for potential viking parties forming or to answer some Askoruns, perhaps. But maybe Ylevä would push that stuff off for a different day... It might be interesting to just get to know another fellow Stormbon just a little better – if she was willing to humor him, that is.

The lioness was focused on her task at paw and had almost missed the apologetic half-smile that the male offered at their bumping shoulders. Burka made an attempt at smiling back, but in her goal to get a meal she'd forgotten manners and stuffed a piece right into her mouth creating a rather unattractive bulge in her cheek. The meat was temporarily forgotten at her sighting him, but soon she realized what she might look like and took a moment to chew, swallow and rearrange her smile to be more flattering. "It is." She stated happily, mornings were arguably the best time to catch her for mild chatter.
"The sunrise is always so impressive." Her own vibrant blue eyes following his to gaze at the horizon where the sun had lit up the lands, making every bit of it twinkle from the evenings dew. It was always on her mind that blindness could continue, perpetually leaving her without a major sense and so she took every opportunity to soak up the view they were gifted with. Though she'd chosen to opt out of becoming a Reaver she knew that someday she'd like to travel a little, before it was to late - if that ever happened. Either way, she desired nothing less than to take advantage of her one good eye.
"What are your plans for the day?"
The question was followed by her taking another (smaller) bite of her meal, just something to tide over her growling stomach as they carried on this impromptu, friendly conversation. She herself had simply planned to finish the meal, perhaps tidy her den and then endeavor to collect some useful plants from the swamps.. though anything was better than the last two ideas. Burka had big plans to become a priestess, but didn't like the thought that she'd venture in there from time to time to gather needed materials. Perhaps she'd have to enlist the gang of hooligans that romped about and stole (or tried to steal) a number of articles.

Yleva struggled not to laugh at the lioness' expression when her maw was crammed full of food, but they were all just lions- they'd all been there. And they all had to eat, no real point of showing off while doing so. So he managed to stifle a snort and a laugh and just nod empathetically while she mused about the sunrise. He didn't disagree with her.
"Sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moon set... There's truly no bad time to be a Stormborn..." he sighed.
"I was searching for parties to go on a raid with, but I hadn't strongly comitted to the idea, not for today, at least. It'll be a while yet till I'm qualified to be a captain, but I might as well make progress towards it any chance I get. And yourself? Are you a reaver?"
He looked her over and noted her lack of scars. His weren't grossly disfiguring or even noicable for the most part, as they faded with time and his coat grew around them. Perhaps she was a Freeborn, or maybe a newer Reaver. Loving his position as much as he did, he assumed it was what most Stormborn aspired to (though he didn't blame anyone who decided it wasn't for them).
