She'd taken the trash to the heap and headed back to her quarters. Moluli could tell Starelth was starting to tire. "Why don't you rest a bit?" She saw the green settled and was placing the eggs in pots when she realized just how close to hatching the small orange egg was. She frowned a moment then made a decision.

There was still quite a bit to clean up. She'd head back, turn in the egg and keep going. She saw her dragon and firelizard settled and headed back to the sands. There was quite a bit more people there now. Moluli searched until she found the headwoman and flagged her down. "This one is close to hatching," she said as she offered it. Once the egg had been taken she decided the stands where the next place she could work on.

As J'in cleared away the remaining twigs he made a second discovery. Seems this egg was not alone.

It's hard to tell whether the rubbish Cai is sweeping on this aisle is from firelizards, or human leavings from the hatching.

Not far from J'aline there's a bulge in the sand that just begs to be investigated.



This egg is huge, the shell is completely hard and the occupant can be heard inside, it will hatch in the next day or so.

Moluli in square A5

No sooner has Moluli started clearing the sands than she manages to find something wedged between two seats.



This egg is medium sized, there’s some firmness to the shell, but it is less than a week old.

Sh'shi looked up as a green landed nearby. Igen. It was still unusual to her, not knowing people's names. This just hammered home how negligent she'd been really. Two riders in as many minutes. There were only two hundred, it wasn't that much of an outlandish expectation for her to know all their names.

"Ah, thank you." Sh'shi took the egg, which she hadn't really been expecting to receive. Firelizards had never been a major draw for Sh'shi, but she didn't despise the creatures. It looked like she was to be landed with one anyway soon. She would hand this over to the Headwoman at some point soon. She'd no doubt be able to find a home for it. The brownrider cast her eyes up to the ledges and let out a thoughtful hum. "I'll be sure to get someone up there to investigate. Better to deal with it sooner." They didn't want a full blown infestation on their hands, but there were people in the Weyr who could be called upon to eradicate the nuisance.

There seemed to be just as much debris up here as down on the sands. She was reaching down to grab some trash between two seats when her fingers brushed against a familiar object. A shell. A firelizard shell. Her lips quirked. How had there been so many eggs laid. Moluli flagged down the headwoman once more and handed off the cute blue egg. She really was here to work, but it was also kinda fun to hunt down the 'lizard eggs. She hoped they got good owners when they hatched. The teen turned back to her cleaning, keeping a closer eye out for more eggs.

Even in between the seats there doesn't seem to be anything else worthwhile in this section of the stands.

"If you haven't heard yet," Cai commented dryly. "Humans on a whole... are disgusting." Really now this couldn't all be from firelizards. Like this... this was the mouthpiece of a wineskin. Just the broken mouth piece mind you. Did they even let people drink during hatchings? Or had some broken hearted candidate snuck up here afterwards to drink his sorrows away? Cai didn't know and didn't care. It was still disgusting.

The little egg rested warm against his stomach. Nacreoth could sense the small flutter of excitement and anticipation within Cai.

"Ha!" Ja'line let out a whoop of victory as she brushed aside a hefty pile of sand to find a huge egg underneath. Hooooo! Sanu this one might hatch before I get a chance to sell it! She held the egg close to her face and heard the faint scratching of something on the inside. How do you feel about a little buddy?

Well she would try to sell it first, by the size and how close to hatching it was she could probably fetch a good price for it if the right buyer came along in time. But... well who knows? She'd never gotten around to buying herself an egg even though she'd thought about it plenty of times. Marks always went to good drinks and good food and bad bets if they didn't get spent on more things she could sell for more than they were worth.

She looked around the sands for more suspicious lumps. If she did end up keeping this one then she still needed to find more to actually make a profit off of and Sanuyeth...I see you up there sleeping you brat wasn't helping at all.

Ja'line got her wish. Not far from her is an area of clearly disturbed sand.

She straightened her back and stretched. A brief check on Starelth told her the dragon was sleeping. She'd need to be fed again once she woke up. That was probably a couple more hours at least. This section of the stands appeared as clean as she could get it. Time to move down the line.

As Moluli clears the stands she'll discover something under a pile of what appears to be sand carried up there by some industrious creature.



This egg is large, the shell is completely hard and the occupant can be heard inside, it will hatch in the next day or so.

C'ai & Nacreoth in A6

Ah... another. C'ai scooped up the little egg, heavier than the first he'd found and examined it. Might be from the same clutch with how soft it seemed. We only need one... Nacreoth eyed the egg in C'ai's hands and peered under the seats it had come from.

"My thoughts exactly." The small egg was already tucked away safely. As the headwoman passed by C'ai flagged her down and handed over the larger one. He also traded out his full rubbish sack for a fresh one and the pair continued their clean up efforts.

Well shaff! This was certainly easier than she'd hoped! Ja'line fished another egg out of the sands, this one definitely young enough that she could find a buyer for it easy. Ja'line set both down for a second and shuffled the contents of her belt pouches. Once her largest was relatively empty, she nestled both eggs within, careful with the little one... she didn't need it cracking on her.

Considering her luck in the sands, Ja'line moved further into the middle of the hatching grounds... it had been a long time since she'd found herself here!

As the pair continue their efforts, Nacreoth spies something under another seat.

She straightened her back and stretched. A brief check on Starelth told her the dragon was sleeping. She'd need to be fed again once she woke up. That was probably a couple more hours at least. Moluli was glad the little green was past needing her meat cut into tiny pieces now. Feeding her numerous times a day had been a chore all in itself. A chore of love, but still a chore.

This section of the stands appeared as clean as she could get it. Time to move down the line. She dragged her panners down to the next section and started adding to their load. She'd need them emptied soon too. As she worked she noted a pile of sand. Now how had that gotten up here? She smiled to herself and went to scoop it up to return most of it, at least, to the sands proper. Tucked away inside it though was a nice large egg. It was quite hard. Moluli waved to the headwoman once more. Waiting for the headwoman to wander her way, she noticed Sh'shi also helping out. She smiled and waved to her teacher.
