Original source: http://battlebunnies.blogspot.nl/2017/03/the-last-resin-thunderhawk-official.html

Quote:
We have just finished at the Horus Heresy Throne of Skulls. During the Award ceremony it was officially announced that the last ever Thunderhawk Gunship was available in the Forge World Shop. "IT WILL NOT BE RE-STOCKED!!!"

This quickly led to a flood of threads everywhere running rampant with speculation, doomsaying and whatnot. It certainly didn't help that Games Workshop, in a somewhat trolling fasion, teased at this happening as well in their latest Design Studio video.

Lending more weight to the rumours though a post from Hastings, a rumour monger of some repute who is hardly ever wrong:

Quote:
Yes it's coming, as everyone can clearly now see the final resin TH has been sold, the plastic one has quite a few options as I understand it, and should come in around 25-30% of the cost of the resin one... or at least that's the last I heard. I recall a figure of either £125 or £135...

The following is not gospel of official rumour, merely guessing on my own part: The kit will be released alongside or shortly after the release of the 8th edition of the 40k rules. The Space Marines, the flagship army of 40k, lack a Lord of War of their own at this stage, not to mention the Thunderhawk being an iconic piece of hobby background.

125 to 135 GB Pounds, that's actually affordable. Holy crap! I had never even considered getting one as I never thought I could afford one.

It definitely looks more aerodynamic. I like it. Does it look a little smaller than than the original to you or is it just me?

I thought it looked a bit smaller too, but that might just be the larger-looking cockpit window.
