Okay, yes, that was the joke. We may or may not actually see them do a plastic Thunderhawk at long last, it would certainly make for the perfect flagship release to tie in with a new set of rules. The rest of the video is nothing but GW playfully poking fun at a lot of the false rumours that have been spread throughout the months, including a poor photoshop of Space Marines on square bases. It's for that reason that I'm also a bit sceptic about the plastic Thunderhawk, which could also be them poking fun at one of those pieces of rumourware that has been around for close to a decade now.

Duncan is the face of GW, so having him show his presence at cons and random GW stores around the world is a really smart move from GW.

It certainly helps that he's charismatic, laid back and an all round cool dude who genuinely loves the hobby, without coming across as a company sock puppet.
