Another morning dawned, and Shun had to get ready for work. After tossing a bagel into the toaster, he went on to pour himself a glass of juice. He missed. A little bit.

This wasn't the first time this has happened. And it probably wouldn't be the last, either. Though the last time this had happened, he had ended up pouring some hot tea onto his own hand. That had been considerably more unpleasant.

Cursing under his breath, he quickly cleaned up the mess he had just made. Once that was done, he just grumbled lowly while he tried again, this time bringing the glass up to the edge of the bottle. It was always the little things like this that got him. It was incredibly annoying.

At least the rest of breakfast went by without any further accidents.

It would still be a little while before Jeremiah would come by to pick him up before heading to work. As grateful as he was for the older guy doing that for him, it also bothered him that he needed this right now.

For the time being, he was in the garage of the apartment, staring down at his bike.

It would be a long time before he could ride it again, if ever.

He did not like that thought.

It wouldn't be impossible. Just... difficult.

He bumped into too many things today.

Some people shot with one eye closed. They were supposed to shoot with both eyes open, though.

Shun didn't have a choice.

He was practicing at the range, and his accuracy had definitely suffered. He needed to make up for that now.

This was a familiar scene. Shun was in other Ashdown, having picked out specific markers. It was something he had to do when first using the ability, but now he was going to need to do it all over again. It wouldn't do for him to teleport into a tree or wall or whatever before he didn't set the correct target location mentally. It was one thing if he had time to pull it off, but he was specifically going for both speed and accuracy.

He'd turn and focus on his target location upon it coming into his sight. In a dangerous situation, he wouldn't necessarily have time to stand there and ensure he was going to end up in the right spot. Any hesitation could be costly.

And so here he was again. Performing the same drills he did several months back.

He bought a dart board for his apartment. With his first throw, he ended up sticking the dart into the wall. Shun made sure to place some protective measures around the board itself after that.

Even while working at his desk, there were little things that got to him. When idly reaching for a pen or whatever, he'd sometimes miss his mark. Not by much. But he still noticed.

He could swear that attempts to read was more of a strain than usual on his good eye. At least when it came to prolonged sessions of the activity.

Similar to his exercises in Other Ashdown, he did a few things in regular. Nothing particularly magical. Just at night, he would practice some relatively low risk things for parkour. Jumping from one parking stopper or bench to another, for example.

Shun still fell at least once. He pretty much spent the rest of that night meditating to keep himself from limping around work the next day.

Shun definitely found he had to turn his head more to see his surroundings. That much was a given. But he found it almost alarming with how much of his peripheral vision had been reduced. He couldn't really look over his left shoulder completely, and this bothered him.

The detective had an extra large blindspot on his left. And it probably wasn't all that hard to exploit. He needed to find a way to compensate for that, but he wasn't sure what that'd be.

Listening more carefully, he supposed. Though, that wasn't something he could do in all situations.

He laid there on his back, staring up at the ceiling. Idly, he tossed a tennis ball up and down, working on catching it as gravity forced it back towards the earth. It was one of the easier exercises, he found. It wasn't too hard to catch the ball like this.

Still, he occasionally missed. But he could be doing far worse here.

There was a soft patter off to the left. Though he turned his head, he couldn't fully see as Kaji came on over, sniffing his face. With a sigh, he reached over and carefully picked her up and set her down onto his chest.

"Long way to go..."
