The Sennenryu, a thought-to-be extinct race of dragons that live for 1000 years, come here to die and be reborn. The Dragon's Nest, is an area on this island. Every 1000 years, this large area of ground, rises out of the ocean. This is where the Sennenryu gather.

A cool breeze made its way through the small alleys of the urban backwoods of Warship Island. A vast looking place where the agile could survive the quick shifting terrain. A place where everyday could be a new story, a new beginning, a new lifeestyle. The day was at its peak as people walked through the busy place cautiously, but those who were paranoid drove through in the minimal protection of their stuff. It wasn't hard to tell that this place was a safe heaven for the delinquents, a hunting grounds for the agents of other lives, but for Tawara it was just another route to complete his mission. Currently he was just waltzing along patrolling the area. This was his job. He was here.

Tawara waltz along the sidewalks, and their divisions going back one by one to the speed of his feet. He took a quick turn to the right before continuing forward eastbound. It was a odd sight for the citizens of the area. Their eyes would be locked on him as he maneuvered along the street. Hostile eyes too gazed at him occasionally thinking that he might be from opposing pirates. Because of his adaption, which occasional came out of no where. A quick few strides across a walkway, a quick leap to another platform, or a funny few dashes here and there! Temporarily before turning back. The thing that protected him was his uniform which clearly gave out that he was a marine among the men. It took about ten minutes to reach the destination he was supposed to find.

Tawara got to the final turn as he held onto to a street poll to turn 90 degrees taking the final left to the building. Tawara needed to get to. Tawara took out his paper to check the address, and entered the building. Tawara began to focus on the situation at hand. And simply walked up the stairs. Staked across the hall ignoring the yelling of stubborn old folk who would often do things as such. Once reaching room 74 he knocked on the old oak wood door. A man slowly opened the door just enough to see as he spoke in a raspy voice. "You guy's need more weapons. More weapons always protects people one way or another. If you guy's ever have trouble. Don't forget there's marine's like me around. With all that's happening in the blues. It's true pirate's will show up sooner or later. You know?" He said fast.

"We're really masters at this. We don't get tired of helping people." Tawara said as he tilted his head so he could see the man. Tawara held out the orders, and messages, as the man quickly grabbed it before giving the payment to Tawara. "Always rely on the marine's. We're stronger than we look." Tawara was interrupted by the door shutting. He simply shrugged and headed back out.

Tawara made easy pickings with this mission he completed. Tawara got some food on his way out of this area. Tawara was aroused by the woman in the area as well. However, he didn't want to get into any danger yet. Tawara had just eaten the Mera Mera no mi. He needed time to tap into his power. The ability was suppose to be a Logia, according to the military. Tawara's life wasn't that difficult. Tawara had butchered this mission. Tawara found real pleasure in completing marine missions. He was out of here.

[ An ominous grey sky looms over an island. This island, lost in the annals of time, secluded and forgotten by the rest of the world, with a shape resembling that of a ruined battle ship, does a secret rest. At the core of the island, within the ship designed mountain a rusted steel door firmly holds closed. Moss and foliage climb along its magnificence, easily sitting seven to eight foot in height. It's only handle resembles a steel wheel, as if stolen from a galleon. Behind this door is darkness. A dreadful abyss encasing the entirety of the hollow, following a long winding staircase deep down the mountain. All around are ruins of a civilization long gone. Stone monuments and abstract decal little the labyrinth-like place. Strange blue light resonates from cracks within the walls and crevices, giving an almost alluring but vile presence. Even deeper down sits a single room, closed off by another much larger door.

Covered in chains and sealing talisman, the door is meant to keep something in. Finally, behind this door rests a beautiful room filled with plants. Water slowly rises and falls in a pattern, as if fighting for control of the room. At the center sits a mammoth sized tree made of various roots and foliage of all kinds. Within its entanglement is a single dark skinned male with wild unkempt hair. Strange tattoos brand about his body in his ruined state. Chains and wires tie him to the tree with spikes nailing him to the roots. Whoever put him here, did not want him out. This man, sealed within these ruins, sleeps. He sleeps due to the spell of the one that placed him here, cursed to dream eternal, never to wake until he is needed once more. “...p! W...k...up! ....RAN! WAKE UP!” a familiar voice rings in the man’s dreams, forcing a reaction he never wanted to experience again. His body fidgets, and shakes, before his eyes slowly creep open. “...” Red orbs glare through the roots, aimed above at the light leaking through the cracks of the ceiling.

Right now, he doesn’t know where he is, or remember how he got here, but what he does know is, he desires freedom. Freedom from the binds! He just needs to escape from here and go...somewhere! He has to! But...where, and why? Shake. His body jerks, fighting against his seals. Then again, but harder this time. And once more, even harder than before! Eventually, following this self destructive pattern, the cavern begins to quake, and soon, the ground itself vibrates. The natives above, whom were tasked with protecting the seal, quickly rush to grab their Den Den Mushi. Their worst fears have come to pass. Just as they were told by the high ranking officers of the marines all those years ago, they must call at the slightest sign of underground activity. If they even THINK the seal were to break, they’d need to call for assistance post haste! And so they do. With all their might, they call for the nearest Marine base, requesting the aid of someone. ANYONE. If the seals were to break, the unthinkable could happen.

Something dangerous would be born into the world once more. “Please! Send the strongest Marine at the base! Anyone! We beg of you! Stop this creature from breaking free!” the plead, gasping for air as their choke between words. Panic, fear, and adrenaline take them, but their message rings clear! “Let...Me...OUT!” a grizzled voice viciously tears through the halls of the mountain, breaking free into the open air. A brutal chills takes the spines of the villagers. Is it too late? ]

Luka would have finally finished writing her report about the Thaddeus incident after returning him to his cell. Having done so without a single scratch upon her person was a feat in and of itself. However Luka had done something she had not done before in her service to the Marines: She had omitted a single detail from her ordinarily 100% detailed reports. Her initial intent of lethal force had not been been stated and the report had been filled out as if her attack had aimed for the shoulder the entire time.

The reason? Embarrassment. Such an immediate escalation of force was out of her character and after the adrenaline rush of the battle had settled down even Luka herself was shocked by that first attack she had attempted. All of the stress and backed up emotions since the Torino Incident was effecting her more than she'd ever openly admit. She didn't even turn in that report as quickly as she normally did before she would leave for her ship. She had been promoted and given new authority as a Marine. Perhaps checking in on the newer recruits as a new commanding officer could help take her mind off of the matter.

Or not. She was the first person informed of the call from Warship Island seeing as the only other candidate fitting the requested description (Merlin) was busy elsewhere. The redhead would answer the call and head to her yet to be named vessel immediately as she took towards the East Blue post haste. Once she had arrived and docked her ship, she'd be greeted by a plethora of people native to the island. they seemed very much panicked about some kind of 'monster' that was supposedly imprisoned within the island itself. She nodded as they would lead her towards the great steel door. "I shall handle things from here. Should the danger prove too great I shall inform headquarters immediately and they will send reinforcements." She spoke calmly as she opened the door with a momentary grunt at turning the wheel. Drawing Aizu from it's sheath, she would step forwards and proceed into the strangely lit caverns.

"What in the world could possible be down her-" She spoke to herself as she traveled through the cavern, only to be cut off by the sudden tremors shaking the entire island, causing rocks to falls down the walls and echo around her as she widened her stance. "Tch...whatever it is, it lacks nothing in brute strength it seems to shake the cavern like this..." She gripped her blade tighter in her right hand as she continued on, heels clicking on the stone beneath her before she met the final door. It was chained and covered in strange markings, but they all shook and trembled as another tremor was made and she could hear muffled shouting from behind the door. The prisoner was able to speak though she couldn't make out the words. "A giant...?"

She paused, knowing that these bindings would break sooner or later and allowing what was inside to bust out and overtake her without warning was much more dangerous than simply letting herself in from the outside to catch the thing off guard. With her Den Den Mushi at her hip if need be, the woman prepared her blade before she sliced clean through all of the chains that bound the great door, even slashing up and ruining the weakening talismans as she stood before the great steel door and used her left foot to kick it in completely with a surprising amount of raw strength. Once opened up, Luka marched herself in and ran forwards, only to stop as she entered the fairly open room.

She looked up at the man in the bindings and she froze in place. The hair may be longer than before but the face was unmistakable. There in that tree was the man she had thought to be dead years ago. Someone she actually cared about and the last form of family she had in this world. Her face was a mix of both anger, sadness, confusion, and relief all at once. Her handle and blade trembled slightly at her side as she stood there, staring up at the man the small forming of tears in the corners of her eyes, mouth trebling before she shook her head clenching her teeth as she shouted at him. "Y-You're supposed to be dead!?" She cried out, not sure if it was even a statement or a question as she shouted out her built up frustration.

[ He could hear it. That sound. That infuriatingly annoying sound. Footsteps. After his roar of anger to the heavens, demanding for his freedom, the man’s eyes fixate on the origin on the stepping. “One...no...five.” he remarks, pointing out how many beings must be heading towards his plant-like prison. The blood in his body begins to rush as more and more memories surface. He starts to recall how he got down here. The ones that put him here… The World Government. In the luminescent darkness, red iris lock onto the massive ruined door as it’s forced open. Finally, after anticipating for what seems like an eternity, a figure comes into view. On the cliff stands a woman, and at the edge of the door peeks the heads of a few curious villagers. Those brave enough to down the depths and see the source of their people’s terror. “Thought I was dead…? Is that what...you wanted...MARINE?!” he roars at the end, nearly snarling at the woman who stands before his ‘cell’.

The vines around his writhe and the chains cackle as if laughing at the man’s weakness in this state. His powerlessness to free himself. His eyes watch the woman carefully while the vines continues moving about. If by luck, or a desire of the gods above, the vines move in such a way where a thin beam of beautifully colored light pillars over the woman for but a few seconds. A passing glance, one long enough for the prisoner to see her figure in full. His eyes widen in shock. His muscles flex while his eyebrows frown in pure blind fury. Enough to where a vein visibly pulses between them. “HOW DARE YOU SHOW THAT FACE BEFORE ME, IMPOSTER!” His voice booms even louder than before as he snatches about. Blood runs down his arms due to the spikes keeping him in place. The chains and bindings wrapped about his limbs squeeze harder, but the man in return thrashes about harder. “SHE IS DEAD, AND YET YOU…!” he calls out, audibly choking on his words as if his emotions were ready to burst from every portion of his body.

Though it’d only be visible to the woman, portions of the vines and chains holding the man back begin with twist out and thin, preparing to snap and burst. ]

Her hands were trembling as much as the cavern around herself as she looked at him, fighting back the tears she's locked away for years as she was shouted back at as if by a stranger. His initial response made her lean back slightly as she started to think that it was merely someone that looked like him. After all he was most certainly dead for ages now. Him being alive at all was impossible and all of her recent stress and mental frustrations are just messing with her perceptions. They simply look similar. This isn't him. He's some sort of strange prisoner that was deemed a major threat and locked into this...place.

Now that he had awoken and is now trying to break free it was her duty as a Marine to properly execute him herself. her grip tightened after a momentary lapse of strength as she narrowed her eyes up at this 'monster' as she decided that leaping up to impale his heart while he was still bound was the most efficient and safest method to end his life here and now. She'd end his life and bury those resurfacing memories here alongside this impostor as she took a step closer.

Light flickered over her face as she did so and in that moment his rage spiked before her, making her stop once more. This time though he called her the impostor and her eyes shifted from steeled resolve back into confused fear and anger. He recognized her face...? But that could only be him, and yet he claimed that the one who had died was herself? More and more questions and yet not enough answers as the vines and tree shook more and more, threatening to break and release their captive should she hesitate much longer.

Luka however was confused, angry, upset, afraid, and not necessarily the best at handling so many emotions at a single time given they'd mostly been locked away for years now, only to burst forth all at once today. Her entire form shook as her rage grew the fastest and her eyes shut for a moment to dispel the budded tears. She stepped forwards with her right foot forwards then, eyes open with fury and focus upon him as her blade swung up and out, pointed directly at him with her torso facing slightly to her left. Her trademark starting stance as she narrowed her eyes upon the ghost of her past.

"I am Lieutenant Junior Grade Luka Scarlet of the Marines! Whoever you think I am or I am pretending to be is none of my concern here! I was sent here to deal with a imminent threat to the peace of the world and I shall deal with it as ordered! Your likeness to that man shall not afford you any mercy from me!" Her blade had ceased trembling now as it was aimed at the man and she was ready to lung up at him and end his life here and now, sealing away her doubts as she always had, in order to complete her duty.

[ Ran watches forth as the woman stands there. His rage was bubbling more and more, and yet at the same time he finds himself hesitating at every moment he goes to lunge at her. Why can’t he do it? What is stopping him from crushing the Marine standing before him? They locked him here, they made him suffer for years on end! In front of his body, merely feet away, is one of his greatest enemies. So then...why? That’s when it hits him. The woman starts speaking again, possibly resolving herself to end him before he can lash out and tear this island apart. His eyes widen, and all his struggling ceases. The strength in his arms fade, as they hang loose by the chains now. “You…Y-You just said...Scarlet. But, those bastards said… O-OI! Girl! Are you really Luka Scarlet?! Do not lie to me! The Marines said they killed you, and that’s the only reason I’m still here! So how can you be standing before me right now?! My little sister is supposed to be…” he shakes his head, fighting back any weak emotions.

He can’t show signs of weakness here. He has to get his answers. “If...If you really are her, then how can you not remember my face?! The face of your only brother?!” he roars, staring her directly in the eyes while a stream of light passes over the two of them once more, further illuminating the water shimmering between the two of them. Strange animals native to this underground cavern skitter about, looking at the siblings from afar, but quickly go back into hiding after but moments. Nosy islanders watch from the doorway still, making sure not to make any sudden movements so as to not disturb the conversation. At this point, they are invested in the chatter themselves. Sweat crawls down their faces as they on look, every last one surprised that this stoic and straight-laced marine could possibly be related to their “calamity” of their island. All the while, Ran patiently waits for the woman’s response.

His heartbeat had long since picked up, and the strength he had simmered into a flicker of what it was. If this marine truly is his dear sister, he wouldn’t be able to list so much as a finger against her, let alone fight. After all, she’s all he had left. She was the single only person he loved dearly in all his life, before joining Galand’s team years back. “Just what the hell...is going on!” he thinks to himself. ]

Fully resolved now and prepared to lunge out and strike the man,Luka was unmoving as she was about to carry out her oath sworn duty as a Marine. But then he spoke up and tried to confirm her surname. Her eyebrow raised slightly as she moved her arm back to her side, blade behind herself as she was ready to jump up and impale him through the skull for an instant kill. Yet she hesitated as he demanded confirmation and tried to tell her that she was dead. She paused, confusion returning to her face at the nonsense he was pouting at her now. She was getting angrier and angrier with him, until he mentioned the words 'little sister' and she became paralyzed. He spoke again, demanding why she didn't seem to recognize him. It wasn't so much that she didn't but more that she merely denied it. But as that light beam passed over to illuminate their faces again, he'd see her more clearly.

Her lips trembled and tears had finally begun to roll down her cheeks freely as her arm trembled, threatening to drop her sword upon the rocky floor as she looked at him, eyes filled with sadness, regret, fear, confusion...and something of relief. Her breathing was irregular as her mind was a mess of emotion at this point. Given their different surnames and the fact that they two likely seemed like more of a pair of friends even to anyone that even knew of them, it was nearly impossible to know that they referred to one another as siblings. The face, the voice...and even the memory of her relation to him. It truly could only be him at this point as she shook, knees weak as her lips parted to finally utter a reply. "...R-Ran...Is it....really you...?" Her tone sounded scared, and weak. It was a stark contrast to the strength of voice and tone of authority she'd been using up until now as she was now more vulnerable than she'd ever been in many years.

[ That was that. Ran finally got his response. The reaction he was specifically looking for. It seemed as though the woman before him had lost her will to kill him now, and judging by her broken words, it really is his precious little sister. His only family. In his binds and seals, Ran lowers his head, having his face concealed by the shadows of the vines. Tears threaten to surface, but he holds them back to the best of his ability, biting his bottom lip in order to struggle against his bodies desires to cry along with the girl. “Damn it all… Those Marines said they killed you, along with mom and dad… Dammit Dammit Dammit….! I bought it, too. All this time, I had believed you were dead!” he yells in a shaky voice. His struggling with the chains had stopped for good, though instead he opts to grabbing them tight. He needed something to hold onto, a filter to vent his anger.

“For years I’ve been down here, cut off from the outside world, and after all of this suffering they sent YOU to put me down?!” At first anyone could tell his anger was surfacing. The way he finished his sentence cast out a booming base that shook the core of the villagers and wildlife alike, all backing away as if hearing the voice of a beast. A predator. But only moments after, a chuckle escapes the lips of the man. Then more, and another, until a fit of laughing fills the beautiful sealing chamber. “Ahahahaha! What kind of twisted irony is this?! I can’t believe this luck…” he starts, throwing his head back to laugh to the skies. Finally after calming down a bit he looks down to Luka again. “Seriously, this is the best… My Luka is really alive… I’m so happy, to see you here, and healthy, sis.” His face turns to one of worried relief. He can’t help but smile knowing the single person most important to him is before him alive and well. “And you’ve gone and gotten so pretty, too…” In the end, it turns out that his friend’s words were true.

No matter how cruel the world becomes, no matter how dark things are...there will always be a single speck of light remaining. A light that can change even the most ruined hearts pure again. For Ran, Luka, is that light. ]

His words did nothing to help her emotional turmoil as he mentioned that Marines claimed to have killed both herself and their parents. Of course the latter were dead regardless but that was hardly a consolation as she looked up at him. "Mom and dad...are still dead though..." She whimpered out softly, more tears welling up that should have spilled when she first was told the news years ago and yet failed to do so. She wanted to ask him so much, especially the mention of marines, but she'd allow him to speak first, even up until he started to laugh aloud at the whole situation. She'd blink at him, slowly smiling a bit as he mentioned how happy he was, only to have a slight blush(!?) when he mentioned how she looked. "Oh shut up you idiot..." She smiled through the tears as she finally used her handkerchief to wipe her face dry again. Good thing she washed it between missions of any blood.

She shook her head at the dumbass, feeling the same as she did when they hung out years ago as she felt so oddly nostalgic now. But she also had more unanswered questions and so much more to figure and sort out first. "Now...What Marines? Why would they even tell you something like that? Why are you even down here!? I was told mom and dad died in a pirate raid...And the same goes for you and your entire crew! So why...?" She looked down slightly at first, gripping her blade tightly in rising aggravation now. Aggravation to a level and focus she'd never had before. "What the hell is going on!!??" She shouted out, demanding answers as her voice echoed around the cavern.

[ It hit him hard, those words of hers. ‘Mom and dad...are still dead though…’. A blow is struck to his guts. Not a physical one, but an emotional one. Here he is being all happy, thinking everything was fine again, but in truth, his adoptive parents really did die. More family he was unable to save again… But he couldn’t show any sadness before Luka. Not now. There is no telling how she must have had to endure all of this time. She was under the belief that he too was dead. Her whole family, stripped from her hands. With a heavy heart, he moves on, only to grieve later behind closed doors. For now, his sister wants answers, and frankly… she deserves them. “Sigh. Right… I guess I should explain.” he starts, lowering his head from his previous laughter, now glaring at Luka as before. The times for jokes were over. “Listen well, little sister. Because the Marines are not JUST the peacekeeping force you may believe them to be. Sure enough, if they kept you alive, they feel you are an asset to them, and have no interest in losing your talent. And judging by your attire...you’re no choregirl.”

The man continues after taking a pause to get a good look at the woman his sister has become. The tone of her body, the light in her eyes, the way she held her blade at him… He can tell, through and through. She’s strong. Very strong, in fact. “You recall I was apart of a group back then. They called us ‘Eden’s Dove’. The bringers of peace and hope. We were their shining stars. A ray of light for the future of the Marine’s rookies. We devoted everything to them for years. After being recruited by our leader, Galand, we made strives to keep the sea peaceful…” As he goes on, his voice goes hollow and tense, as if he is furiously fighting against the dark emotions set behind his words. He doesn’t want to speak of the past, but he must to help secure Luka’s future. There are no longer any options in the matter.

“We followed the World Government blindly, paying no mind to the results of our devotion. If we were given orders, they would be executed flawlessly. Everything was for justice. For the PEOPLE. But...we were deceived. After a while, some of our members started noticing things. Bad things. The actions we were taking, had very grim effects on those we swore to guard.” Now his voice had fallen to anger. He grips the chains closest to his hands with such vigor that blood runs down the length of them, dripping into the pure waters below. Water exotic fishes and sea life that lived in the underground lake curiously swarm about, pecking at the red droplets before moving away.

“We weren’t killing Pirates and thugs. We were putting down innocents, people who had information that the World Government didn’t want leaking out. Sure we took our some pirates here and there, but we were completely tricked. Our group was nothing more than executioners for those that had the means to bring out our leader’s vile ways. Those sitting up top, and their equally corrupt council have been using the Marines’ valor and devotion as scapegoats in order to execute their foul agendas.” Ran snarls, staring down into the abyss, hating himself. Hating the man he used to be. He had trained so hard as a boy, and valued his adoptive mother’s lessons so dearly he would repeat obsessively for hours. And it all went to waste. Everything he tried not to become, is what he was. He disgraced his parent’s lesson.

Their teachings, and all the sacrifices made through his journey with the other Eden Doves. “We confronted our superiors about it, wanting answers for our injustice, but they...those bastards LAUGHED. THEY DARED TO MOCK US AND OUR FAITH. WE BELIEVED, AND THEY DIDN’T EVEN CARE! No...they didn’t care a bit. Instead, they ridiculed us for opposing their law, and had us hunted! Our direct superiors, who guided us through everything. Who taught us. Our damned mentors...THEY BETRAYED US, and in cold blood, they killed…” He pauses, stopping to shake his head and level himself out. He can’t be acting like this. Not in front of Luka. She alone can’t be allowed to see his other side. “We were hunted down like dogs, and eventually, all captured. All of us except for Y’shtola… At least one of us had to get out… But, after that, they separated us. Confining us in different parts of the world, never to be found or heard of again. Can’t say why they didn’t kill us though…” Ran shakes his head, looking up at Luka with worried relief.

“It was after confining here that they claimed ownership over our parent’s death, and even yours...but since you’re alive...not sure how much of that I should believe.” Finally he finishes, having told her the majority of the story. The most important parts anyways. ]

Luka stood there, looking up at him and taking note of the emotional turmoil that her brother was going through. His face, his reactions, his tone, he was suffering like she was, though he had also suffered down here for years now. She frowned and felt a pang in her chest as she watched him start to tell his story and the longer he went on, the more she hurt and the angrier she became. Her eyes widened as her rage flared up at the final reveal of what had happened and her grip on her blade was so tight by that point that she had started to bleed.

She did hear a familiar name in the ranting however. 'Galand'. That b*****d was Ran's leader!? Who the ******** knew. Of course she'd have to find his a** again after this sometime, but that could wait. She let her brother finish as she stood there for a moment, rage welling up inside her as her blade shook in her grip. Her brother had been down here for years, suffering, sitting in darkness, thinking they were dead, and living with the knowledge of this betrayal while she had lived about in blind obedient ignorance the entire time! She had no idea of his pain, how much he had suffered. How much pain he felt must have greatly outweighed even what she feels now all at once as she readied her blade, stance widening as her blade went around her left waist.

She gripped her blade and steadied the shaking as she took in a deep breath. Shigure Soen Ryu: Shinotsuku Ame! She lept from the ledge with speed, precision, and power as she cl;osed the gap by them both and her blade would flash off the light within the cavern as it slashed all about herself at a high speed, the force only augmented by the quality of her named blade Aizu. After the slashes finished, her blade was at her right and she was near the tree and her legs shifted to kick off of it and land back at the ledge as she sheathed her blade finally. All of his bindings would have been sliced by the attack, breaking and shattering away from him after a momentary delay as she looked up at him.

"If it helps any, Galand is alive and well. I met him some weeks ago at the kingdom of Lyneel. He was...interesting..." She started, trying to give him some consolation as she would step back and give him some room to join her, possible stretch his limbs once again. Once he did though, she'd suddenly hug him tightly though, likely with much more strength than he'd remembered her to have as she tried to keep herself from crying again. "I've missed you...so very much..."

[ It seemed as though his story was quite a bit much for Luka to swallow all at once, but that was a both a good and bad thing. Good because now she knows the truth of the World Government, or at least...a sector of them. And bad, because the faith she held so dearly in could very well have been shattered by his own hands just now. But he just can’t let her parade around those corrupted fiends blind. Not her. Not his light. And now even more than ever, having this second chance of her being alive and doing well. Right before his eyes, is the future he can believe in. But the pain he no doubt caused her heart could not go unpunished. He hangs his head in shame before suddenly feeling the shackles and bindings restricting and restraining him in the air suddenly snap. It was like a gentle breeze. As light as the drizzling rain. Before he knew it, Ran finds himself falling to the ledge beneath him.

Possibly out of habit, or maybe even out of defiance in allowing himself to show weakness before Luka, Ran makes the motion to lands on his feet. An action he could effortlessly take a few years back, considering how fit his body was. But he had forgotten. All of his strength, abilities, and tools were taken from him due to some strange sealing device. He was basically a clean slate. A normal human, who was scarcely fed and nurtured, with zero exercise for years. The impact sends a shock of pain up his feet to his head, and a fit of dizziness takes him. Yet, the words spoken by his sister gives him the sudden burst of strength he needs to brace himself upright and stare at the ground in utter shock. “Galand is...that happy-go-lucky b*****d is still ALIVE?! ...haha...this is seriously too good to be tr-” Before he can finish his statement, Luka’s form collides with his own, her arms wrapping around him tightly. The grip sends some pain through his weakened form, but, he wouldn’t stop her. No, in fact, Ran WANTED this.

More than ever, more than anything else in the world. He wanted to be held by a loved one. This warmth, this genuine care for his life. This is something he can only get from his family. From his sister. Ran’s right arm, his only free one, wraps around Luka and grips at tight as his ruined body would allow. “I missed you too, sis… I’m so happy...that you’re alive, damn it…” he mentions, taking this chance to shed a tear while she couldn’t see. His eye face forward to the staircase behind Luka. Soon, he’d be exposed to the world as it is. This new changed world, ruled by the Government even more than before. After the two are given the time they need to hug, Ran takes a step back and looks at his limbs, noticing the various scars and bloody imprints left in place from the chains and vines from before. Over the years they had dug into his flesh and were left to remain this way, only being partially disinfected with minimal effort during his monthly checkups from gods know where.

“Listen, Luka. I won’t...I can’t go back with you. Not as I am. I’m glad you found me, but the marines want us of the Doves as prisoners. Slaves even. Whatever the reason, they kept us alive. If I’m right, they probably think we are valuable to them, and in that case, we are better of in a place they can keep track of us.” He shakes his head and holds up his arms, shrugging in frustration. “There’s no telling what they’ll do to me, to YOU, if we leave this island together. So, I need to say this while I have the chance…” he starts while lowering his arms beneath the tattered black cloak over his torso section. His eyes look to his sister’s making sure she’s paying attention, because from here, things get dangerous. ]

She hardly wanted to let him go, not ever again, wishing to hug him tight for as long as she could still. Just knowing he was alive and well was a great relief, even through the muddled mixture of other emotions she was still trying to sort out. It would be a bit before she would finally release her grip and step back, allowing him to breath as she took in his full appearance. He was gaunt and bloody, worn and his years of torment was visible all over. It pained her to see him that way. She wanted to look away, but at the same time she didn't out of fear that he'd vanish once more from her life.

She gave him a moment though as he started to speak and she felt a pang of pain again as he said he couldn't just go with her. She looked confused at first but she stayed quiet as he spoke, only to further increase her rage. Rage at what they did to him, rage at why they did it, rage at the fact that Galand and Johnny were right, and even more rage that she had blindly followed those same officers thus far. Her fists clenched hard as she stood there, looking slightly down as she nodded at him. "You can tell me anything. I need to sort out all of this anyways so tell me everything you need to."

[ It seems as though Luka understands the gravity of the situation, and this fills Ran with a sense of hope. As he stands at the edge of the cliff, he turns around to gaze down at the waters he had seen for so long now. The sight forces a strange sensation in his chest. This is the first time he’s seen this view, from this side of the underground lake. With a ragged sigh, he fights to keep himself standing. “Do not blindly trust the Government, or the Marines, Luka. But at the same time, don’t lose faith in justice. While many at the top are corrupted, there are many such as yourself who only wish for the betterment of the world.” His head lifts, allowing for his golden iris to stare up at the openings in the cave. Even as he explains these things to Luka, he too, must heed his own advice. It won’t be long before he’s thrust into the world again as well. “Changing that dirtied system, fixing the justice system… It’s not something you can do alone. As strong as we were back then, as many allies as we had…” He starts before turning his body to the side, to look back at his sister from his peripheral.

“...We could do nothing in the face of the ‘top’.” His body completely turns now, and he walks closer to the red head, reaching out with his right hand to rest it atop her shoulder. “Luka. I don’t know how the world has changed since I was confined, but I know this. Companions are your greatest strength against evil. Light is only but so strong alone, and this world is filled with so much darkness. Without other lights by your side, you’ll be crushed...just as we were.” Removing his hand, Ran shakes his head and moves back by the cliff side, sitting down with crossed legs to look at the waters once more. For some reason, the abstract almost surreal view seems magical to him. Calming even. His nerves settle, and his body’s shaking stops. He wouldn’t be able to keep moving about for too long in this weakened state.

“Don’t let your heart and will be confined by the ever choking chains of their ‘law’. You are your own person, sis. Hear. Feel. Think. View the world with your OWN eyes, and decide what is just. Never let anyone else define it for you.” As he says this, his mind sets back to events long since passed. He can’t help but miss his old allies in the end. They were, after all, the ones who freed him from his own darkness, and set him back on the path of good his adoptive parents laid out for him. And now, all he has is one single light left to protect. ]
