There is no such thing as a dumb question. Feel free to make your inquiries here and we will do our best not to judge you.

Since every topic in the Marine base is under control of Marines, does that mean marines gain a x1.2 word bonus when RPing in the base topics?

This is a very good question...please standby. Imma be back with a proper answer for this...

Edit: Marines are unable to gain the bonus from owning territory because they can't own territory without gaining a bounty. However, we do understand that this could be viewed as unfair so we've made missions repeatable so that marines will have a way to go out and gain a little extra exp. Not much but enough to keep you in the game.

So can we get mission descriptions that make sense instead of repeating a boring old story-line that's gone on for three guilds now? I mean I'm willing to submit some if needed.

Lol that would be a big help while I get other things hashed out so if you'd like to submit new descriptions for the missions then by all means.

Well I'd appreciate it if you all removed all the ones I made currently in there then. They weren't made to be repeatable. They provide unique items that would be upgraded throughout the length of the various ranks. There were supposed to be repeatable missions made off to the side that made you do trivial every day tasks that actually made sense to be repeated. So if these current ones are being edited, so again I'd appreciate them being removed/replaced completely.

Actually had an idea, keep the current missions and I can toss some new descriptions for repeatable ones at you instead. I wouldnt want to damage anyone's contribution; past present or future.

Id actually welcome such an idea. If you are willing then by all means post up a draft.

If it truly bothers you then we'll expedite the process of removing them as a whole (which was the plan to begin with) however we ask that you be a little patient as we have nothing to replace it with yet and marines will take a hit without missions. Give us a couple days and we'll have them completely removed as to not ruin your work.

Quote:
Patrol : ▸▸ Rumors have it that a strange group of pirates known as the Jacker Pirates have been seen in the area. The Jacker's have been known for looting, and a habbit of stealing large ammounts of swag from the people around that area, including visitors especially. It is your job as a Marine to explore the area and arrest any members of the Jacker Pirates you find, especially their Captain, Jack. Just don't get jacked in the process.
- Roll a 1d4 when doing this mission; 1-2: all clear, 3-4: Jackers are present.

Rebuild : ▸▸ was recently destroyed and the people of the area have had their lives thrown in shambles by the destruction at the hands of the dastardly criminals who performed the heinous act. It would be a good service to the Marines and a nice bit on your reputation if you were to go lend a hand to the rebuilding effort, and possibly try to gain some information on those who did it.
-Reduce the level of destruction in the area by at least 1 level.

Collecting Taxes : ▸▸ The people of the region in question have not paid their taxes to the World Government yet, and it is your job to see to it that their dues are paid. It's not a job that brings hope and happiness to the people, but it's your duty as a Marine to enforce all laws and tenants by the government that the Navy serves and protects. Go and see why the taxes haven't been paid and collect them, deadly force is not authorized, but it is okay to use a little muscle and threaten jail time.

Mercenary Investigation : ▸▸ Mercenaries have a habbit of defecting from their profession and joining the ranks of the criminal elite over time and it your job to keep an eye on the 'attack dogs' in a manner of speaking. You have been assigned to go find a known mercenary and to take down a report of their pirate hunting activities as well as gain any information they might know of any pirate activity in the area, but this is a front. It is your main job to make a detailed analysis of their character and report back with any information, noting if they pose a risk or not. You need not directly interact with them at all if that's not your style, so long as you can get an accurate read on their behavior and if it falls under the law.

Training Exercise: Marine Training Grounds ▸▸ Spar against a fellow Marine [Player or NPC] and hone each other's skills while forming a detailed report of your partner's performance and any recommendations for improvement they can make. This information is key when determining actions and for improving the skill of our more elite members.

- They're easily repeatable and encourage potential IC interaction or at least acknowledgement of other characters in the world, rather than just being solo word sinks. Granted, the first one allows for a solo deal if activity is low and or you just want to do a solo mission. I didnt come up with rewards as I figured the mod-staff could do that.

The below is my current draft for the suggested missions altogether in the current format of missions, fully fleshed out for requirements and rewards, while encouraging interaction with other Marines as well. Experience gains were kept a bit lower to avoid the urge to halt and spam them constantly each week for an unfair edge over the other factions and I wasn't too sure on beli with your altered economy but it's a start.

Marine Missions
Standard Patrol Rounds ▸▸ Hello, [Enter RPC Name Here]! As you should know, the majority of any active Navy operative's time is devoted to sailing around the world, keeping an eye out for pirates and disturbers of the peace. When not assigned to specific targets, we have each ship of Marines travel about and perform routine patrols around the world to search for stray pirates, up and coming pirates and any potential local threats to world peace where you may be assigned to work. You won't always come across pirates on these sort of missions of course but that doesn't mean you can let your guard down. Remember, Constant Vigilance!
    Task
      ◦ Roll a 1d4 upon accepting the Mission to determine where your patrol will be done; 1 is North Blue, 2 is South Blue, 3 is East bBlue, and 4 is West Blue.
      ◦ If in North Blue, generate a number between 1-8 to get an island; 1 is Capital Fang, 2 is Crimson Island, 3 is Horakonton Town, 4 is Lyneel, 5 is Macron Village, 6 Minion Island, 7 is Misty Peak, and 8 is Swallow Island.
      ◦ If in South Blue, generate a number between 1-9 to get an island; 1 is Arinzoma Heart, 2 is Bancho Village, 3 is Baterilla, 4 is Carmine Town, 5 is Centaurea, 6 is Karate Island, 7 is Saint Reia, 8 is Tanaka Island, and 9 is Torino Kingdom.
      ◦ If in East Blue, generate a number between 1-13 to get an island; 1 is Cocoyasi Village, 2 is Foosha Village, 3 is Gray Terminal, 4 is Loguetown, 5 is Midway Forest, 6 is Mirrorball Island, 7 is Mt. Colubo, 8 is Orange Town, 9 is Rare Animal Island, 10 is Shimotsuki Village, 11 is Syrup Village, 12 is The Baratie, and 13 is Warship Island.
      ◦ If in West Blue, generate a number between 1-8 to get an island; 1 is Clockwork Island, 2 is Inada Island, 3 is Ocean's Navel, 4 is Ridus Village, 5 is Ruins of Ohara, 6 is Thriller Shock, 7 is Toroa, and 8 is Yo-Yo Island.
      ◦ This mission may be repeated once every week.
    Requirements:
      ◦ Must be a Choreboy/Choregirl or higher.
      ◦ Must go to your assigned location and post at least [500] words on patrolling the island and the area around it.
      ◦ Must roll [1] Ten-Sided Dice, that many pirates shall be encountered, requiring [100] words be typed to defeat each of them.
      ◦ You may split the required words for this mission with up to [4] other operatives that have accepted this mission as well.
      ◦ Must return to Marine HQ – Information Department to turn in and complete.
    Rewards:
      ◦ Upon completion, each operative is given [20,000 Experience]

Destruction Reduction ▸▸ Hello, [Enter RPC Name Here]! Due to recent pirate activity, [Insert Destroyed Topic Here] has been attacked and suffered some damage to say the least. We'd like you to go there and help with some of the reparations, offer assistance to the injured, handle any straggler pirates or possible looters that might try and take advantage of the destruction and things like that. We need you to help fight piracy even in the less direct ways too so don't think this is just us making you do 'grunt work' OK? You guys have to prove the Marines care about the people and aren't above helping them in their times and need after all. Now go make us proud!
    Task
      ◦ This mission may only be taken when a topic has been destroyed by an RPC pirate or crew.
      ◦ Must head to the damaged location and assist with repairs, aide the inured, handle straggler pirates, or deal with potential brigands and thieves.
      ◦ Return to Information Department to report.
    Requirements:
      ◦ Must be a Choreboy/Choregirl or higher.
      ◦ Must go to the destroyed topic and post at least [500] words on dealing with the damaged state of the area as requested.
      ◦ Every [500] words posted for this will officially reduce the destruction on the topic by 1 tier but once the destruction is tier 0 you cannot continue aiding in reparations.
      ◦ You may split the required words for this mission with up to [4] other operatives that have accepted this mission as well.
      ◦ Must return to Marine HQ – Information Department to turn in and complete.
    Rewards:
      ◦ Upon completion, each operative is given [10,000 Experience] for every tier of destruction they help to undo.
      ◦ Each operative may also roll [1] Ten-Sided Dice for each tier of destruction they help undo and multiply that result by 1,000 beli to receive as a 'thank you' from the civilians of the aided topic.

Tax Collection ▸▸ Hello, [Enter RPC Name Here]! The people of the region in question have not paid their taxes to the World Government yet, and it is your job to see to it that their dues are paid.
    Task
      ◦ Roll a 1d4 upon accepting the Mission to determine where the collection must be done; 1 is North Blue, 2 is South Blue, 3 is East bBlue, and 4 is West Blue.
      ◦ Must go to your assigned location and post at least [600] words on arriving and investigating and issue and then securing the taxes for the current pay period.
      ◦ You may split the required words for this mission with up to [4] other operatives that have accepted this mission as well.
      ◦ Must return to Marine HQ – Information Department to turn in and complete.
    Rewards:
      ◦ Upon completion, each operative is given [50,000 Beli]

Of course! They're too influential not to. The world government is currently in the works now and should be out soon.

This is gonna sound like a stupid question but while making my character profile i read that we get a free started weapon... I guess I'm just not quite understanding how to acquire that. Do I still make a "purchase post" in a shopping district then make an update for it or do I just make an update for it and say I spend zero Beli?
