The Sultry Star. Each time he heard his stage name being announced, it always felt like he hadn't directly heard it, or that someone else had somehow taken his place. Zindel blinked himself awake, pushing his hair away from his face and leaping on stage with a flourish. This battle was supposedly someone Chiara recruited, but he'd never heard of them, or their name. He saluted the crowd with a wave and a pose, hands flourishing before preforming a smooth twirl. It received a lot of positive response, and while in the past he would've felt a uncomfortable by it, now he received it with open arms and a wide grin, even offering a wink at the end. Every night was a surprise, every night someone new. Perhaps tonight's visitor would stand out a little more than the others. They all seemed so bland.

"Iiiiiit's NOVAAA!" The announcer called, speakers rattling the thick air of the club. A second set of spotlights swiveled into place on the far end of the stage. Tiny red motes of light flickered and the curtains billowed out. Sascha stepped out onto the platform.

The tall troll strode out to his end of the stage, trusting the spotlight to keep up with his long, sharp steps. Sascha would have been perfectly content to keep his own name. The fame was part of the draw after all. However, he couldn't deny, albeit with no small amount of eye-rolling at the particular choice, that having such a short, snappy stage name was classy as hell.

Classy, of course, was relative to Sascha, who stood posed with his hips jutting to one side. He shook his chin-length hair loose from his face, brushing his gloved hand up into a salute at the crowd. For the event he was dressed in a shiny black material, trimmed with gold. He wore ankle-high boots with pointed toes and tight pants. Scalloped holes cut up the outer seams, reminiscent of his symbol, which was worked into his outfit without being printed obviously across his person. What was the point of a mysterious stage name if his identity was plastered directly across his torso? His torso was in fact nearly bare save for a dramatically cut bolo jacket that covered his arms and neck and nothing else. His scars across his back were exposed for all to see--a thick net of layered skin varying in shades of gray and desaturated yellow. The feeling for Sascha was bizarre, but not unpleasant after seasons of wearing what was practically a corset of bandages. He felt light. Agile. Sascha smirked and turned towards his competition. The final touch of his debut costume was a simple black bandit mask. The contrast of obscuring his face while leaving the rest exposed struck Sascha as hilarious, but he enjoyed the way the tied ends fluttered behind him all the same.

Sascha appraised Zindel. He'd heard of him; seen pictures. He knew he was one of Chiara's other clients, but hadn't particularly bothered to learn more than what little information he'd been given. Zindel was pretty. It was clear from his physique that he was a professional dancer--not that the advertisements and current setting weren't already indicative. What Sascha wanted to know what if he could fight.

He bowed in a manner that would have been sportsmanlike, had he not put on such an aggressively sarcastic flourish.

Nova, huh? He was definitely quite the looker and seemingly proud of his body— Rightfully so, as Zindel's gaze slid down to stare for a moment too long before looking up and giving his combatant a lopsided grin when their eyes met. With another glance to his body, searching for any weak spots, he saw the now healing scars peeking over his back and resolved to use that as a last resort, uncaring if it did any bad damage on his body. It'd render him immobile, right? With a quirk of his brow at his sarcastic welcome, Zindel's eye flinched when he realized and he only smiled wider, more welcoming, bowing elegantly himself as the decorations on his person shimmered each time he moved.

Suddenly the announcer began the battle, and Zindel was the first to leap into action. He twirled to the music, hips swaying as he lunged at the other, not really wanting to hurt, more flirt. That was the point of all this anyways. With a small smile at the other, he swiped his blade at him and moved his arms with a flourish in tandem with his hit, feeling eager to begin this.

Sascha watched Zindel appraisingly. The other lowblood was respectably calm under pressure. The battle began and Sascha was quick to note how comfortable Zindel was on the dance floor.

Sascha felt the nick across his ribs, but didn't allow himself to show it. He and Zindel continued to dance closer to each other than was theoretically safe considering the nature of the performance. Sascha was testing boundaries, and by the look of things, so was his opponent. Sascha smirked. He slid behind Zindel, swaying gently and putting the other troll center stage. Then, Sascha dropped backwards, landing on his forearms and kicking out one leg. He swept his legs under Zindel's. The momentum carried Sascha's body around until he'd tossed himself back up onto his feet.

Sascha grinned, eager to see Zindel's reaction. The redblood could win some serious style points if he managed to land the recovery. Sascha was practically doing him a favor.

Sascha does 6 damage!

Swaying hips, occasional lashing-- It was lulling him into a false sense of comfort, and it was only when he dropped that Zindel realized something was wrong. With a surprised grunt, Zindel crashed to the ground unceremoniously, startled at his feet getting swept out from under him. He huffed and pushed himself to his feet, recovering easily but definitely conscious of how many style points he'd lost from such a fall. His expression fell into a small smile, but his eyes were serious and unsure. He needed to up his game, but right now, needed to recuperate. He kept his distance from the yellowblood, attempting to get more style points from his own flair than attacking the other.

Sascha nearly flinched with how unceremoniously Zindel dropped to the ground. Apparently Sascha didn't know his own... strength? Was strength the word he was looking for? Normally such a sentiment would be met with smugness on Sascha's part. In this case he just felt disappointed. Victory wouldn't mean much if it was over an opponent with two left feet.

Sascha gave Zindel the room he needed to recover. While sportsmanlike behavior was never one of Sascha's top priorities, he did respect the idea of giving the audience a good show. Jumping at Zindel from halfway across the stage was only a few seconds worth of entertainment, after which the whole scene would probably devolve into Sascha just sitting on top of Zindel, punching him. A troll could see that mess at any low-end bar or fight club. Sascha held out hope that he and Zindel could strike a good rhythm together yet.

Sascha rolled his hips and unfurled his arms before him, beckoning Zindel over.

Sascha does 0 damage!

Zindel wasn't falling for that one. Nova was large and buff and Zindel was... Lesser. If Zindel kept his distance and attacked in bits instead of all at once, he'd be better off. He walked closer and closer, only to nimbly flip just out of his reach and play a little with his dagger before catching it, aiming, and throwing it. It definitely wouldn't hit its mark, but the knife lodged itself deep into the side. Zindel wasn't strong, but he was deft and nimble, and found it easy to get out of a bad situation with his agility and speed. He chuckled, winking at the other and instead beckoning him to come over with a click of his heel.

Zindel was keeping his distance. It was a smart tactic, but that didn't stop Sascha's face from twisting with something akin to disappointment. Zindel approached, building tension. Sascha responded to meet him, only for the redblood to spin back across the stage. Sascha recognized the tactic only a hair's breadth before the knife whipped past Sascha's horn.

Sascha's steps were unfettered, but the feeling of the sharp breeze had tempered Sascha's aggression. His opponent was more agile than his rough start had led Sascha to believe. Zindel had even turned Sascha's beckoning maneuver back around on him! Sascha exhaled with a smirk. So be it.

Zindel's dancing was light, fleeting. Sascha's style was a stark contrast. He crossed the stage with little fanfare--a daring move when it came to audience engagement. His steps were heavy and decisive. He approached Zindel and unfolded one arm as though inviting the other to tango.

While the motion of his right arm was inviting, Sascha struck with his left. The classic cross was followed by a dramatic roll of his body onto his toes. He was gambling with such a heavy hit. Even if Sascha's punch connected, he needed to be ready to evade. He knew he was physically stronger, but Zindel was fast.

Sascha does 6 damage!

Zindel was caught off guard-- He'd changed his dance, his movements becoming decisive with little fanfare. Zindel immediately tensed but by the time he'd gotten out of the way, the redblood had already been struck with a hard punch. Thankfully, Zindel was used to getting hit so hard from previous dance battles with trolls focusing on attacking more than a balance between the two. So while he'd been struck hard and heavy by Nova, Zindel only allowed a slight grimace to spread across his face before retaliating as fast as he could, spinning on one foot and aiming a careful, flourishing kick to the side Nova's punch hadn't reached. He'd put himself in a weak spot, but maybe the blow would startle him.

Zindel had taken the punch so fluidly, Sascha second-guessed the hit had even connected. The redblood rolled around Sascha's shock. Zindel responded with a gusty move of his own. It was one with all the pizzazz Sascha's big move lacked. Sascha tried not to let the exasperation show as he realized he'd accidentally set Zindel up to take center stage.

Sascha's face became the least of his concerns as his torso was struck with Zindel's leg. The air left Sascha's lungs in a single expulsion. Sascha had to scramble to avoid falling on his face. He dropped low and swooped across the stage to mask his lost balance. He needed to regroup. As he dove out of Zindel's immediate range, he attempted to jostle the other's precarious pose.

Sascha's mouth was half sneer, half smirk. His opponent had that gauzy, sultry image, but the redblood had some bite to him.

Sascha does 3 damage!

Definitely experienced, if not in dance, then in bulkiness. Zindel gave the other a pleasant smile as he used the others shove to his advantage, twirling as his entire body overdramaticised the others attack so as to make himself look more wounded than he actually was. He was hurt, yes, this NOVA was built like a tank-- But that didn't mean he would lose automatically. Losing the fight didn't mean he lost the battle. Another thing he loved about dance battles-- Most of the fans valued the fluidity and richness of the dance more than the fight itself. With a wink on top of his pleasant smile, the redbloods smile shifted into a smirk, taunting, baiting. Hit me harder, He said with his eyes, neck rolling seductively-- I dare you.

Sascha had this guy on the ropes. Sascha was no more mussed than the average dancer near the end of their routine. Zindel, as dainty as he was, looked like he'd crumple at the slightest breeze.

Sascha didn't realize he'd been had until he was already in motion.

The yellowblood leaped into the air far higher than an unpowered troll's physiology would allow. He rolled at the top of his arc and came down on the stage hard. Red sparks glittered in the impact as a wave of force pulsed across the surface of the stage. Sascha grinned wickedly, only to catch the edge of Zindel's wink. Confusion. Frustration. Horrified understanding.

Sascha just set his opponent up for one hell of a pitiable finishing move.

Sascha does 11 damage!
