Poni Gauntlet is a path in the north of Poni Island that leads up to the Battle Tree. The area is quite scenic with lush plant life and many beautiful waterfalls, however it's also lined with some of the strongest trainers in the Alola Region to test the mettle of potential Battle Tree challengers moving through the area, hence the name "Poni Gauntlet". For those who are unable to defeat the trainers residing here, the Poni Gauntlet also has many areas filled with powerful wild pokemon to train against. It is here that Mina, the eighth gym leader of the Alola region, resides and waits to accept any challengers.
