[ORP] Festival of Life: Hide and Seek

Niz was impressed with how quickly her daughter made her way through the bushes. Of course Niz being a fair bit larger than her daughter had a bit of a tougher time. She could burrs sticking to her fur as she went and she cringed thinking about all the grooming she would have to do later. Perhaps Asha would help her out. "We are getting closer Cifahari make sure you stay quiet." she told her little daughter. Though as she watched the grey leopardess move she realized that Cifahari was so focuses there was no need to tell her to stay quiet. She couldn't help but smile this had been an amazing bonding experience for them already.



The cub slipped through the branches so quickly that she had to remind herself to slow down and wait for her momma. "Momma Momma we are getting close, I can see the tree." Cifahari whispered excitedly. The cub was vibrating with excitement but did her very best. "We should wait till be get close before we make a run for it though." she said with a nod. The young cub was so serious. She wanted to win the game, she didn't mind not being the first but to hit home would be the best thing ever.

Moving through the bushes Nizana watched her cub go, mostly letting the little one do it on her own only helping when absolutely needed. So far they had been lucky and Nanaa hadn't circled back around to them. She did her best moving through the shadows and bushes but in all honesty Niz was large due to her lion mother and it wasn't always easy.

"Hey look" she whispered to Cifahari. They had gotten quite close to the home base now and Niz could now see Byakko and Nanaa's brother Viher only steps from the mother tree. Niz made a mental note to thank Viher later for helping the cub with the game it warmed her heart seeing her children make bonds within the pride.



Cifahari's eyes lifted in the direction her momma had indicated. "Oh" she chirped excitedly before quickly throwing her paw over her mouth and looking around to see if Nanaa might have heard. Thankfully the pink leotah was nowhere in site still. "Byakko will be so excited to be the first." Cifahari was a little sad that it wasn't going to be her but that was quickly replaced with excitement for her sister, her parents weren't raising her to be the jealous type.

"Come on momma we have to get closer." she whispered with urgency seeing her sister so close only made Cifahari want to get there too so they could celebrate together.

Zrathi had flattened herself to the ground as best she could, and whenever Nanaa looked the other way she shuffled closer to the tree. Hopefully her pelt would help camouflage her a bit, because she was bigger than many of those playing. It felt weird to be allowed the luxury of play, and a smile tugged at the corners of her mouth.


Fluess had the advantage of being small, and could hide better than the larger animals participating. However, she stuck close to Zrathi to make sure her lion companion wouldn't embarrass herself too badly. So far so good... A few others had been tagged while they were still safe, but on the other hand they were very far from the tree.

Niz chuckled softly at her daughters enthusiasm. She thought for a moment she saw a hint of jealousy flash through Cifahari's eyes and it made her frown but it was quickly replaced. She nodded in approval, she didn't want her daughter to be overcome with a negative emotion like that specially so young.

When her the little leopard cub started on the move again Niz was quick at her heels. The vegetation was thinning out but they were now so close to home base Niz didn't think it would matter any longer. Hopefully Nanaa was still making her circuit around and they would be able to make it to home base and then watch as others played.



Cifahari was vibrating with excitement, knowing that they were so close had made her pick up the pace even more, and when she looked towards homebase again she was honestly a little surprised to see she had come so close in a short amount of time.

"Look Momma we are almost there!!" she called excitedly. She couldn't wait to get to her sister and celebrate.

Nanaa looked around, not spotting anyone for quite some time! After the originally tagging, she couldn't seem to fine anyone. Was it just luck that she had spotted two sets so quickly? She hummed, eyes trying to focus on the rustling of bushes, but she couldn't tell if the minor movement was just wind or if it was a cub crawling through to get to the base.

She peered into the bushes, seeing nothing. Perhaps she should employ a different tactic, and moved along to find any other members who had decided to join them. She whipped her head around towards the base as she heard a shout of joy!

The pink Leotah grinned - at least she wouldn't be looking for the pair anymore. She stalked around though, wondering if anyone else had slipped past her.

Niz moved along with her cub, she saw Nanaa coming and she knew they had to make their move soon or they might be tagged and set back. "Ok Cifahari I think we can make a run for it. Do you want me to carry you to go faster?" Niz offered.



The little grey cub saw the end in sight and when she saw that her sister stayed to wait for her she couldn't wait to get to her side. "No I don't need to be carried." Cifahari told her momma before taking off running in the direction of her sister. She didn't bother looking over her shoulder for Nanaa she just ran like crazy.

Niz sat back and watched as her two daughters congratulated each other. She hadn't grown up with her siblings having stayed with her mother while her siblings went with their father. She loved seeing the bond that they were building it was so strong. She lay down by the tree knowing that her other cubs were still playing and she wanted to see as each of them came in.



Cifahari jumped and celebrated with Byakko. Finally settling when her sister asked if she wanted to stay and watch. "Yes of course, I want to see if I can see anyone hiding." she answered. She settled inbetween her momma's paws. "Come on Byakko lay with me." in all honesty the cubs probably wouldn't stay snuggled with their momma too long their excitement was just too high.

Zrathi heard the commotion when several more players reached the tree and stalked closer as quickly as she could, hoping everyone would be distracted. It was hard to stay quiet, stay low and move quickly at the same time. She plopped down behind a bush and flattened herself again. Her tail tip twitched as if she was sneaking up on prey.

Fluess scurried through the underbush, zig-zagging as she went. She could run circles around the lion, had she wanted to. She was soooo good at this! Ooops... Zrathi had already stopped so she had to scurry back and hide with her.
