Polair huffed as she trekked through Busthind, trying to stay as far as possible from Claud. After the space race, Polair has been more distant as she hid the fact that she was blind. It was a hard task, to pretend everything was the same as always when it wasn't but she was getting used to slamming herself into objects and the lies and wandering around using her guts and staff to guide her. Not a very scientific approach but, it was the best she could do for now.

Recently, researchers spoke about some kind of metal that reacted smoothly with sonic waves. It was dubbed the "siren" amongst the metals as it was believed it produced its own sonic waves. Polair couldn't help but wonder if it could help her with her blindness and without hesitation, she used her daily allowance to sponsor the project. Once they told her where the metal was found, she lead an expedition with several adults and Claud. Unsurprisingly, Polair lost her way and got separated from the group which, again, she didn't mind. As long as there wasn't a threat, she was fine. Using her staff to know where to step on, the child noticed she almost walked off somewhere high. She wasn't certain if it was a ravine and she didn't want to find out. So the seadweller sat down on the edge and imagined the view in front of her.

She frowned as they cool air caressed half her face-- it wasn't the same. Imagining something instead of seeing it just wasn't the same. Actions had consequences, and she had to face it. She brushed her bangs away from her face, revealing her eyes as she felt the cool breeze once more. It would take a lot to get used to this, she knew it. Maybe she needed to put her mind on something else, since observing and skywatching was impossible now.

What could she possibly do though? There are many things she wouldn't do-- as they are things she normally doesn't do.

Busthind was quite a difference from her elder trees and lakes and marshes of Four Fronds. The greenblood felt...out of place, oddly exposed. It was similar to the first time she was in a big city, overwhelming, but no this was different. From Busthind the anxiety came from the wide open spaces, not the overcrowded buildings. It was strange to the greenblood, but beautiful none the less. She just imagined trying to foil a hunt in such a wide open space as this. Sure there were caves and crags, but she had no doubt that she wouldn't be nearly as successful with her endeavors.
The little witch hummed to herself as she explored the rocks, open crevices. She had come in search of crystals. She'd heard from Crowma that some ancient trolls used to use crystals to help with their magick. She'd only recently began to dabble with crystal use, but if she were to get anywhere with it, she'd need to find some crystals that weren't barely the size of a fingernail.
As she went about her search, teleporting to a more promising looking location, she audibly gasped when she reappeared. A young troll was sitting on the ledge, seemingly gazing over the horizon.
"Sorry, I didn't expect to see...anyone else...up...here..." Rianon's voice trailed off as she saw the fins from behind. A stinky, slimy fish. What in Alternia was a SEADWELLER doing up in Busthind. Rianon's stomach soured, and her face contorted into a grimace. They were the 'top' the hoity toity, the ones who thought they had the right to say who should live and die. The witch wasn't sure how to approach this situation, but she already didn't like it.

Pushed out of her thoughts and dragged back to reality, Polair gasped as she felt someone near her. The child whipped her head towards the sound, feeling her aquatic bloodpusher pound against her chest. If her body movements had been exaggerated enough, then she would've accidentally thrown herself off the ledge. Instead, her grip tightened around her staff and loosened it as she heard the other speak. She didn't hear like much of a threat, and she hope looks, or sounds in this case, weren't deceiving.

"Yes," She said while she slowly arranged her bangs to cover her eyes. "I've heard not many trolls manage to climb up here. Eminent death is a crucial factor in Busthind for those who don't know their way. Me being one of them, I'm surprised I managed to get here on my own." Polair felt more pleased with herself than surprised though, yet she knew Claud wouldn't be at all happy with her.

Although, the child couldn't help but wonder why was this stranger here nor why was she surprised to see someone else there. Maybe she was a resident? "Do you come up here often?"

Rianon wasn't surprised at the other troll's surprise of her sudden presence. She was however surprised that this seadweller was seemingly alone. She started to look around, peeking behind rock outcroppings for an ambush of some sort.
"Yeah, dangerous up here and all that," she said in a dismissive tone. There wasn't really much terrain that caused Rianon to fear for her mortal coil, her gifts have so far proved rather useful in getting out of any situations like that.
"Nah, don't come here too much. Just looking for...something." It seemed like the greenblood didn't feel much like divulging too much information to the fish.
However, in her paranoia over meeting a seadweller and looking out for an attack, her normally observant nature seemed to miss the few signs that the girl might not be able to see too well, or at all.
"So why're ya up here alone? Never seen a seadweller out without an escort, or slaves or something." Truth be told she'd never met a seadweller in person before. Currently she was just as guilty of perpetuating rumors as many trolls do about the rebels, or even herself and her work at Four Fronds.

"Hope you can find whatever you're searching for." She simply said before stretched a bit. However, Polair looked back towards the sound of Rianon's voice. She was displeased with that last comment. Slaves? What was she been taken for, a tyrant? She could be alone if she wanted to, she was her own person and thought she did not require for such protection.

"Being alone is not exclusive to a specific rank. Don't you think?" She said as neutral as possible. "As for the 'slaves'... I do have drones but they are paid employees. They provide a service and get their pay just as any troll. Besides, luxury has never appealed to me. I like simple things, books, being alone, or with somebody who understands." Buffel came to mind, but she did her best to brush the thought of him aside-- she had things to do.

"Just like you, I'm searching for something or was... I lost my way. I am searching for a metal to be more specific." She didn't care if she divulge information to this stranger. Besides she wasn't doing something illicit. "Invested my allowance for this project, led an expedition, as previously mentioned, I lost my way and, well, here I am." She simply said. Polair stood up and used her staff to get closer to the stranger.

"Word of advice, don't assume things about other trolls. Not everything's as it seems." She huffed. Really, that generalization ticked her off. "My name is Polair, what's yours?" She couldn't help but think that something as such happened long ago... But where?

"Paid servitude is still servitude. Some trolls just don't have the opportunities for better lives," the greenblood replied, though the accusatory tone had softened, slightly. This girl was still a slimy fish, but she didn't speak as disgustingly crass as she had imagined a seadweller would. Perhaps this was more of an opportunity than a misfortune, after all Rianon had never really had the chance to speak with a seadweller. To see how they really ticked...was it possible that they all weren't up on high horses? The witch was skeptical, but she had to at least observe this troll a little more.
"Metal?" Rianon echoed. If she had recalled correctly there were some rather metallic looking nuggets that she spotted in a crag on the side of the nearby cliff, no crystals of course but perhaps it was what this girl was looking for. "What's it look like?"

"I'm Rianon," she replied. Now that she was more attuned to observing this Polair troll, she picked up on a few things, like the staff. The witch arched an eyebrow quizzically, she raised a hand and wiggled a few fingers to see if it would illicit a response. This girl couldn't be hard of seeing...could she?
"And if we're exchanging advice...don't be naive to the terrors some ranks have been capable of." This sounded more sad, melancholy than a retort, though of course it was far from polite, especially when spoken to a seadweller.
"Regardless, I think I saw some metal in a crag nearby. But I need to know more about what you're looking for. I'm afraid I'm not an expert on metals."

She looked back, probably at her, and huffed. "Well, no individual, by the very state of existence, can avoid life as a form of servitude; it only remains for us to decide, deny, or remain oblivious to, whom or what we serve. Think of that." Polair could go on and on about this, and try to win against her logic but she had other things in mind-- the metal.

What did it look like? The child didn't know. She couldn't really tell the difference from an ordinary metal to a faux one these nights. Unless, of course, she experimented on them. So she gave the greenblood a simple shrug before scooting away to the edge and getting on her feet. "I haven't really seen the metal before." Nor anything else if she was to speak the truth.

"Will keep your advice in mind. Thank you Rianon." It wasn't as she wasn't speaking the truth. Her caste did act primarily on emotional responses more than anything else. Gladly she wouldn't do the same, or at least she tried not to.

Polair almost stumbled her way towards Rianon the second she mentioned seeing some metals. Taking a hold of her shoulders. "What? Really? Which crag, is it nearby?" The seadweller dropped her staff as she bombarded the other with different questions.

"Think you can show me where you found them?" She needed it to experiment in on herself. "Some of my companions told me it looks a bit like gold, the others say its a bit lighter than it... Though one remarkable characteristic it has, it produces vibrations when it comes in contact with other objects." This was all speculations, that Polair couldn't help but hope these details were true.

Dear Alternia, this girl was touchy about the topic of servitude. Though, when Rianon thought about that it meant Polair must have given the topic some thought before. She may be stretching her logic a bit, but was she actually concerned with the well being of other trolls? Nah, Ri must have just been projecting. Still, she had to admit to herself that she'd never been so intrigued trying to understand the thinking patterns of a seadweller.
"Oh, dear Alernia!" Rianon blurted in shock as Polair rushed up and grabbed her by the shoulders. She tensed up a bit, waiting for the fish slime to seep in through her clothes, she shuddered at the thought, the nasty smelly seadwellers...a few moments passed. Rianon opened her eyes again. Huh, there was a definite lack of odor, and as far as she could tell, no slime. In fact up close Polair didn't really seem much different than any other troll. Could her information have simply been....gossip?
Finally grounding herself once more, Rianon composed a reply. "Uh, well. It's kind of close, but I don't really think it's some place you can physically get to..." It honestly wasn't a place most trolls could get to, unless they had very specific equipment...or teleportation.
Rianon bit her bottom lip, noticing the desperation in the girls voice. She had to wonder why this was so important to her. "I...might be able to get you there. But, it's in a way you probably aren't used to traveling."

"How close?" She shook the other slightly. "I'd do anything to get it." Was that her desperation for productivity seeping out of her cool exterior? Yes, definitely. Polair couldn't risk being useless, nor allowing others to find out about her embarrassing condition. However, shaking Rianon probably wasn't her best move, as part of her bangs moved away from her face, revealing her face a bit.

"If you can take me, I don't care how uncomfortable the ride there might be. I just want to get the metal." Really, she wouldn't give two ******** about that-- after all, she'd get her prize!

Probably.

While Rianon was adjusting to the realization that seadwellers were perhaps not as slimy nor smelly as she had imagined, the shaking was still rather off putting. The little witch was about to grump about how desperate Polair was coming off when she caught a glimpse of the girl's eyes as her bangs parted. So, it seemed as though she couldn't see, or at the very least her vision had to be heavily impaired. Little pieces of the puzzle started to click into place as she thought about it.
"Alright, fine. You need to be careful though, we'll be going into a crag on the face of the cliff. So be on guard." Rianon warned before taking hold of Polair by the wrist. She didn't however warn her about the sudden jolt she was about to experience as Rianon teleported them into the little opening on the side of the bluff.
The greenblood stood toward the entrance, where there was a sheer dropoff just behind her. "Just, don't go past me. This is where I saw the metal though...let me know if you need help finding it." Perhaps Rianon was going soft, but it seemed as though this seadweller might be a tag sensitive about her sight. So rather than being blatantly obvious about it, the greenblood merely offered assistance to her. That alone left a bit of a sour taste lingering.
