The window of opportunity he created for himself diminished as Kursha rushed him. It didn't help he was already sapped of his strength from bleeding out. Pain. That was all there ever was between them. So why was he surprised now? What was there left to do or be said? Kursha was and had always been dangerous.

Now was no different.

Anger twisted Stryke's usually passive features. He groaned in pain as Kursha's foot connected with him, wheezing in agony. Stryke kicked the other with his boot, aiming for the greenblood's knee. Stryke held using his psionics again, storing what energy he had. It was his last resort and exit strategy. His body ached, and his legs trembled. He had one last surge he could use...but he would have to find another ideal ripple in time to act if he hoped to survive this night.

Health: 11
Military Grade Rifle +1
Eagle Eyes: 1/2
Agility B Trinket: ACTIVE

There was a crack from Kursha's knee as Stryke's foot connected. The greenblood buckled with a howl of pain. He caught his fall with the butt of the rifle.

“I'm not letting you get away,” he snarled, struggling to stand. As he drew himself up, the crosshairs of his pupils began to pinwheel. They drew Stryke's gaze in like a horrifying vortex. Body hot with fury, Kursha hoisted the rifle to his shoulder. He aimed the barrel at the petrified yellowblood's thinkpan.

Stryke would not get away.

[ Kursha does 10 damage. ]

Everything came down to this single, solitary moment.

The line had been drawn, and for what it was worth Stryke didn't have it in him to keep this up. Afraid or not, this was it.

"...you won...congratulationsss." Stryke's eyes met the greenblood's, his expression void of emotion. It wasn't like he hadn't known it could end this way. Each was on their own path in life. They began and ended in opposite directions. He waited for the right moment to make his move...least he failed those that needed him back at the Outpost.

Stryke raised his good hand, acting as if he would comply.

      [+] Kursha Vidari

“Oh, it's a little late for that.” Disregarding the cold pit in his digestive cavity, Kursha squeezed the trigger.

"i know." Stryke stated softly, with a hint of regret. His body tensed as he saw the other squeeze the trigger.

goodbye.

The familiar swell of psionic power made Stryke's figure glimmer at the height of the dangerous situation. Seemingly all at once clock shapes began taking form. Bright gold, red and orange energy formed around the gun and it's wielder. As the bullet exited the chamber, both became trapped in that exact moment.

Stryke felt his thinkpan swirl. He stumbled back slightly, eyes all to wide. How long could he hold him and still run? The yellowblood would find out soon enough.

Forevermore he would have to run from him. Kursha was relentless after all...and Stryke would not be another victory under his belt. It was with that, he fled into the night, without looking back.

Stryke vanished.

The bullet whistled off into the alley bereft of a target. It was like the whole world had blinked. One moment, he had been staring at the yellowblood down the barrel of a gun, the next he had disappeared.

Kursha whirled, half-expecting to see Stryke behind him. But there was nothing but empty streets. He spun around one more time. Emptiness ahead. Kursha clenched his fists as realisation settled in. Lowering the rifle, his shoulders bucked.

Suddenly, he struck out at the hive wall, leaving a bloody imprint of his knuckles.

He was left alone again.
