Quiet Quixotic
Quiet Quixotic
Daniel moved here for college, full of hopes and dreams and ambitions just bubbling beneath his modest and mellow exterior. He's a liberal arts major, but hasn't yet determined an area of study. He wants to do right by the world, and is always happy to lend a helping hand.
Often guilty of extravagant gestures of kindness, but too shy and awkward to take credit. Always gives money to panhandlers and feeds a small colony of stray cats behind his work.
Bleeding Heart
Dan has trouble knowing his own limits, and often ends up overextending himself to help others' causes - be it in time management, or monetarily. A frequent over-tipper, moneylender and "the friend with the truck" when moving season approaches (It's a white '86 Ford F-150, and she's (he calls her Bessie) seen better days). Selflessness to the point of selfishness - because giving makes him feel good, he often overlooks the feelings of those close to him. Once people get to know him enough to stop asking for help (often for his own sake), he finds himself drifting away, too busy getting his helper-high from someone else.
Compounding this issue is his unwillingness to ask for help. He hates the idea of being a burden to others - an old fashioned, deep South DIY man to the core. This often ends with him in some kind of pickle - turning in assignments late, forgetting to study for tests, missing work or just being plum broke.
His current employers (a mom and pop diner) have tried to be forgiving, but if he keeps showing up late to shifts or calling in, he's going to be up s**t creek without a paddle.
The Unbreakable Bessie
Fortunately, in spite of it's age and incomprehensible mileage (the odometer stopped ages ago, and no one has been able to fix it), the old girl never seems to need a tune-up. This is good, because Dan rarely has time to so much as think about an oil change. She's also never gotten him into an accident; a true and worthy steed for a would-be white knight.
ANYTHING ELSE?
Daniel calls his mom every day, but hasn't seen his dad since he was too young to remember. His stepdad is nice, though, and he has a younger half-sister.
Daniel is 21 years young.
He really enjoys reading lifehack articles, books about making onself happier, books about finding oneself, and basically any book concerned with the magic of self discovery. Also, mint chocolate chip ice cream and strawberry banana anything, but especially pancakes.
