Meara had just been taking a walk when she had stumbled onto the fog shrouded house. She had paused in front of it with a curious look on her face for a few moments and then taken a few steps closer to it as she debated whether she was willing to explore it or not. She could feel a creeping sense of emptiness and it was almost enough to make her just leave and not even go through the front door. After a few moments of of this she finally decided to go in and have a very quick peek in the first room. No harm in that right? As she grew nearer it became more obvious that there were shadowy figures with in the fog, some moving around, some standing still, all seemed to be watching her. She paused in surprise but the damage had been done and something attacked her out from the fog. She let out a surprised yelp when the witch hat attacked and was stunned by the sudden aggression enough that she didn't attack back.

She finally recovered as the witch hat attacked her again and this time she was able to attack back. While it hadn't been a very strong blow, it was at least something to get started with in the long run. If anyone had been watching her it would have been obvious just how little fighting experience she had in both how weak she was hitting and her lack of fighting fineness. Thankfully for her pride however she was alone in this battle.

She let out another yelp when she was hit by the witch hat again and kicked out at it in retaliation. The blow was about as good as the one before it but it felt good to be able to hit it at all.

The next time the witch hat hit her, Meara was ready to hit back just as hard as what the hat had. It was granted still not the best hit she could have done but Meara was taking it as the improvement it was and at least she had hit the thing.

Sadly for Meara, the next attack from the witch hat, while it wasn't any stronger then the previous ones it had made, was enough to send her reeling back, and this was enough to make her miss her counter attack. It was tiring to keep this up and frustrating to keep missing or doing so little to the hat. This experience was something she figured would stick to her for some time and she would have to use this memory to fuel any practicing she did in the future to get better. Then she wouldn't have to worry about a fight taking as long theoretically.

She was still recovering from the last attack the witch hat had made when it attacked her again. This time she was able to smack it away to get a bit of distance between them so she could recover fully. It was close to death right? Or if not death then at least unconsciousness. She would happily settle for unconsciousness at this point as she felt the fight had gone on long enough. The fight the hat had been putting up had left her sore and tired, something she would have preferred not to be even if this fight did get her important fighting experience.

Thanks to the extra ground Meara had won from the witch hat, the mob had to move back over to her to attack her and this mean she was ready for it with a decent attack herself. She felt the blow to her arm but ignored it to punch out at the witch hat. When it connected this time it was enough to knock the witch hat out.

Meara stood there panting for a moment or two, letting it sink in that she had won her battle against the witch hat. When it did indeed sink in she smiled, though it was a tired one, and put her hands on her hips. "I did it!" She gave a quiet cheer. She stopped her celebrating though when she remembered just where she was and why she had been attacked in the first place. Looking around she could see that the fighting had taken her farther from the house then she had been so most likely she would be attacked against at least.

She let out a deep breath then, after giving the fog hidden house one last look, turned and started to walk back the way she had come. When she had planned to get some exercise on the walk she had not been planning on getting even more by fighting. Even though it wasn't planned, it had happened and she couldn't really say she wasn't pleased with the end result.
