A blood moon rises...
( We're totally late to the punch here... )

In our world a blood moon is an exceedingly rare cosmic event that inspires awe and fear across every culture. In The Realm, a blood moon has never been seen...until now. For one night one of the twin moons that rises over the land took on an eerie red glow. B'alam on the surface had no idea what to make of this event. Some brushed it off as just another mystery to yet be unlocked but those who have been awakened for a time found the event to be unsettling.

At the same time a newly-woven rose to his paws and lifted his head to darkness. He was woven blind, marked with the blood moon on his brow and a dark omen on his pelt. The weaver seems to be warning his creations of something...but what? The newly-woven is oblivious to his own pelt and to the world around him. He's as blank a slate as the rest of his newly-woven brethren.

A bad moon rises...
Do you know the shop?
Who is the "god" of the shop's lore? The Grand Weaver
How do B'alam reproduce? They carve idols from pieces of wood and pray to the Grand Weaver to grant them cubs by breathing life into the idols
What were this boy's parents like? He wouldn't have any, as he was woven right as the blood moon rose in the sky, as an adult
What are the uses of water orbs? The water orbs allow Water B'alam to store and carry reserves of water
Are there any supernatural powers in B'alam? Not in a sense. They have Telekinesis, which allows them to do everyday things and build things since they do not have fingers. Magi, however, have the ability to use magic to some extent.

Tell us about him...
Name || Blaḍa Mūna
xxxName Meaning || Blood Moon in Hindi
Personality ||
At first, he will be very wary and tentative about the world around him. Being woven blind, he has never seen what the world looks like, but it does not matter much to him right now. He knows he was made this way for a purpose, something the Grand Weaver will one day show to him. Blaḍa Mūna will start out slowly in the world, taking it one paw step at the time. He is Storm-Minded, never sure if he wants to settle down somewhere or continue on in the world. He would be tentatively friendly in the beginning, and as he gets used to being woven blind, he would eventually grow more confident, and sure-footed.
How does he feel about the world around him?
Blaḍa Mūna has accepted his fate. He was woven this way for a reason, and he knows it will one day be revealed to him. He takes it all one paw at a time, remembering every scent and sound he comes across. He would have disdain for other B'alam at first, but slowly begin to understand them and accept their help.
What will he look for in a soul mate? He would look for a mate that accepts him for who he is, but also someone who pushes him a bit more. Someone who challenges him to step out of his shell, yet who he knows he can trust and will not steer him wrong. Someone strong yet caring, confident and gentle.
What plots do you want for him?
Having someone to pick on him and edge him on in any way would be amazing. But then again, who doesn't like a good enemy? Having some sort of crippling problem, other than blindness, would be a good way to go as well. Maybe he loses a paw because he rushes too fast into something? Or he attempts to fight someone off, maybe that B'alam that constantly picks on him, and loses part of his tail, or tip of an ear? Meeting his soul partner would be an interesting one too. He could feel the connection to her, and want to get to know her more, and she is intrigued by his face and wants to get to know him more. There are bumps along the way, but eventually they find their love for each other and bond. Also cubs. He would have a hard time carving idols and would be upset, and would be even more upset that he couldn't see his children. He'd be bitter at first, but eventually grow to love his children like he loves his mate, and would be fine with the way he is. As for the way he looks, he would want to know what he looks like and why, but would be more accepting of it, until he realizes that other B'alam have no idea why he is like that. Then he'd grow frustrated and start to question the Grand Weaver for a bit, but eventually grow fine with it again as he finds his purpose.
What is a good end-game for this boy plot wise?
Sacrifice. Having to sacrifice something would be an interesting way to end his big story plot. Whether it is his life to keep his family safe, or a limb, just something. Just should happen some time after he finds a mate and has cubs. Otherwise he wouldn't willingly sacrifice himself for some great cause.
He was woven blind...but he has those dark ears. Why would the weaver do that? Maybe it gives him an enhanced sense of hearing, allows him to better understand the world around him in a sonar like way, that way he isn't constantly running into things.

RP Prompt time!
He wakes to the sound of waves lapping against a rocky shore, a soothing tempo that calls quietly to him, drawing at something deep within. In the distance he can hear the wind blowing against the towering cliff sides that make up the Water Palace. Unaware of it, a blood moon rises over the great mirror lake, highlighting his ebony form in an eerie crimson. Nearby the protector of the Water Tribe watches alongside the head of his chroniclers.

He had just woken, and he could tell that something was happening. It was very still and quiet, waves lapping against a rocky shore nearby. A quiet sniff and he could tell he was near a lake. In the distance, the wind blew against what he could only assume was some huge structure, something he did not know about yet. Another sniff, and he could tell that there were bodies nearby. A frown played across his face, ears folding back against his head as he slowly pushed himself up off the ground. Claws unsheathed, toes wiggled against the ground, soft pads feeling what was beneath him. His tail twitched against a blade of grass, making him twitch as well. But everything was still dark. He blinked several times, and yet still he could see nothing. Yet another sniff, a twitch of his large ears, and he could tell where the lake was. Turning towards it, he padded slowly forward, whiskers twitching as he kept his head low to the ground, brushing against the grass there. Whisker tips twitched against something cold and wet, what he could only assume was water. Stepping forward again, his paw sunk into the soft mud beneath the edge of the water, confirming his theory.

The male B'alam sat, curling his tail around his front paws, which were tucked beneath him as he leaned forward. Blinking several more times, everything was still dark, and he couldn't see a thing. A scowl crossed his face, and he harrumphed, sitting back on his haunches angrily. What was wrong? Why couldn't he see anything? Ear tips twitched as he felt the wind flutter by, and he turned his face to the sky. He could feel that there was something there, high above him in the sky, and that he should see it. But there was nothing. Nothing but empty black darkness. Gasping softly, the male stumbled backwards, falling over his back paws onto his back. Quickly he flipped himself over, panting. He could not see. He could not see! A paw rubbed over his face, and he nearly poked himself in the eye with a pad. He had eyes, but he simply couldn't see. For several minutes, this continued, shuffling paws as he stumbled amongst the grass alongside the lake, turning in circles.

Finally, huffing, he laid down, head on his paws and tail tip over his nose. Why? Why was he born unable to see? Ears twitched towards the sky as he looked up, still unable to see anything. Why had he been woven like this? There had to be a reason, right? Grunting, he closed his eyes. He could feel the sensation, and yet still... Grumbling to himself, he finally closed his eyes and decided he would sleep on it for the night. He could at least tell that it was night time. Maybe in the morning he could find someone to help him...

A bad moon rises...
Do you know the shop?
Who is the "god" of the shop's lore? The Grand Weaver
How do B'alam reproduce? By soul-bonding and carving idols
What were this boy's parents like? He has none. He was woven as an Adult.
What are the uses of water orbs? To draw in and store water.
Are there any supernatural powers in B'alam? I would say more so elemental powers, and every B'alam knows telekinesis.

Tell us about him...
Name || Azekah
xxxName Meaning|| Strength of walls
Personality ||
Being woven with all the basic instincts that usually come with a balam he will be cautious about the world around him at first, trying to adjust and figure out how he fits in exactly. What makes him vital to the tribe. He will be curious about everything and ask quite a few questions as he develops his hearing into something more than just that. Once he has answers about his questions he will remain silent until he has something that he feels he needs to address or if he has another question. Listening to what is going on around him will be his strengths. He will pick up on things that others would initially miss, like a soft sigh of sadness from someone who you'd think was otherwise happy in their demeanor, or even a sense that someone is telling a fib by the way their voice fluctuates. So silence to him is golden. He will be forgiving in nature and very devoted to his work and his bonded whenever they happen to cross paths.
will add more as I think.
How does he feel about the world around him?
He is unaware that he is the only one who cannot see like him so at first he won't think anything of it, though he will understand that something isn't right. When it's brought to his attention his difference he will turn to the scholars and ask if there had ever been any history of something like this happening before. He will be intriqued and puzzled by why he was woven as he was. Perhaps he has some grand purpose that the Grand Weaver has set forth from him and he has yet to discover it. He will be curious to learn more and try to understand why he was woven this way.
What will he look for in a soul mate? He is going to want someone who is enduring, patient and kind. They will have to be understanding and somewhat firm in what they do and have a strong understanding that his values are his life.
What plots do you want for him?
Lost and found- After being newly woven he is found by another and they find it quite curious that he's been woven without any eyes and explain to him where he is and take him with them to get settled into the Capitol.
Explain it to me, please- As he is without sight, he cannot see color or what something looks like (unless he touches it of course). But color is still lost to him, so he would be curious to ask what something looked like and try to have them explain to him what color is.
And you are?- He meets a female B'alam and is curious about her and what she does. Perhaps she was just traveling through as an ambassador for another tribe? He is still captivated by her and perhaps hopes to meet her again one day. Her voice is going to be key here. I want someone with a somewhat sweet, yet sturdy voice that he'll remember without hesitation.
My place in this world- He takes up a position (not quite sure as what yet.) Perhaps something important? Maybe even a scholar (he could have someone read what he needs to learn so that he knows.)
It's you again- The female has returned and this time he asks her to stay so that he may get to know her more.
A time to rejoice?- He finally soul-bonds to said female and the time to carve idols approaches. He cannot see, how will this work since he cannot properly carve what he imagines in his mind? Perhaps this is a conflicting time for him?
A new generation- Cubs are woven and perhaps one has no eyes just like him and he must pass on what he has learned along with the help of his mate.
will add more as I think of them.
What is a good end-game for this boy plot wise?
I want him to make some sort of a significant impact on someone, or even a whole tribe. Perhaps he teaches everyone something that they would never have known if they hadn't had the opportunity to meet him.
He was woven blind...but he has those dark ears. Why would the weaver do that? I believe the weaver would do so as he is without sight and the ears allow him to hear the world around him much better. They are slightly larger than the average B'alams and since he isn't your average B'alam it also seems fitting.

It was like a soft swoosh followed by a slightly trickling sound that made his large ears twitch slightly as he came into this world, the whistling of the wind against the rocky cliffs made his head lift and he could see nothing but blackness. He wasn't alarmed though he felt as though something was amiss. He just wasn't sure just what that was. He stood, a little wary on his feet but otherwise strong and he turned his head as he searched for clues. For sounds. He couldn't see so he had to rely on his hearing alone to tell the world around him. He could feel the ground beneath him and hear the way it moved when he flexed his claws. Everything seemed to echo to him so he focused on the sounds, trying to draw an image into the blank spaces of his mind. He had never seen before so he had to try and come up with something of his own to describe what he was inevitably seeing through the sounds.

He was unaware of the presence of Stillwater and Chaucer until he heard one of them move and the sound carried itself upon the wind to his delicate ears. He was uncertain of who they were, just that they were somewhere not to far away. His nose told him that they were kin, but not blood. So this allowed him to settle slightly. He stepped forward, listening to the ground shift beneath him and the wind move around his body and along his ears as he shifted them and moved forward slowly. He could hear echos as a pebble skipped across the ground and he made his way towards the Protector, unaware that was in fact what he was. He just knew it was someone who could help him and he very much needed some guidance until he knew where everything was so that he didn't find himself falling into the lake or off the cliff. Though either were unlikely for he could hear the shift in sounds, but still. He needed to learn this place so that he could contribute to it.

A bad moon rises...
Do you know the shop?
Who is the "god" of the shop's lore? The Grand Weaver
How do B'alam reproduce? By forming a 'soul bound', and making idols together. In doing so, they hope that the Weaver will give them life.
What were this boy's parents like? This boy doesn't have parents! He was woven, not carved!
What are the uses of water orbs? They can do a lot! They look cool, and they can store water, be use as a filer, be a substitute for fancy jewelry. And I am sure in someway, stop world domination in their own water absorbing way.
Are there any supernatural powers in B'alam? They have a mild form of telekinesis. When they become Magus, and as their connection with the weaver grows, they can have powers that correlate with their tribe.

Tell us about him...
Name || Elijah "Omen"
xxxName Meaning || Elijah:
Meaning of Elijah: "Jehovah is God" Origin of Elijah: Hebrew
Omen:
O-men
ˈōmən/
noun
noun: omen; plural noun: omens

-an event regarded as a portent of good or evil.
"the ghost's appearance was an ill omen"
-prophetic significance.
"the raven seemed a bird of evil omen"
(His Weaver Given name is Elijah, but he goes by "Omen" as he will be often called that by others that didn't know his name. (Plots ^-^)

Personality ||
*Lake-Minded || He likes to stay at home, but does enjoy traveling as long as there is a guide, or perhaps a river/storm-minded balam to lead the way where he wants to go. But he is mostly a home body, that wants to stay at the capital.

*Surprisingly cheerful and easy going. That is not to say that he isn't serious, because he is when the time calls for it. Though more often then not, most could think he doesn't have a care in the world. As he really doesn't, because being especially of the water Tribe he is very spiritual, and know the Weaver and trust his plans.

*Wise, he is wise and teachable. Most b'alam that have a teachable spirit is are wise, just by that alone.

*Eli loves learning, and sharing his knowledge. Not in a 'annoying' way, to show that he knows a lot, but rather in a way that it is his desire for others to understand things, as he understands thing. Very inquisitive.

*Omen, is a great listener and a trusting friend. As well as Forgiving to a fault, which is only rival by his passion for others. Everything he does is very personal for him as it takes all of him to understand and 'see' things for they are. Its a double edge sword with how attached he can be, for even his 'enemies' because he does his best to try and understand them. (I can see this getting to be quite a problem for him in the future.)

*Don't get Eli Wrong though, he isn't a push over and he does have a stubborn streak and will stick strongly to what he knows is 'right' and 'wrong'. But he will always try to make friends or find a mutual understanding before raising a paw.

(I can see him becoming quite the strategist, if needed in war time.)

How does he feel about the world around him?
(He's one of the very first, if not the first blind woven b'alam! How does he feel about this?)

Feel. That is all he does do, as he cant see he must feel, hear, smell and taste the world around him. So everything is so incredibly personal to him, as he must imerge his whole being in the world to understand it and know it. It's honestly a little exciting.

Excited, he wants to know life and the world around him. He wants to learn!

Fear? No, I don't think he has of yet any reason to, because 'fear' is after all just an acronym meaning: 'False Evidance Appearing Real'. He has no reason to be fearful, as he doesn't 'see' his lack of sight as a hindrance. He hasn't known anything else. It is -normal- to him, and as the Weaver made him, if anything seeing b'alam are the ones that are 'strange', and can't hear, feel, sense, smell like he can.

What will he look for in a soul mate? well, he won't 'look', per say. (Ha-ah!), but I am sure he will be very nervous about the whole thing. Reason being, is that he is so very self reliant and concerning. But as for if he found the -right- Nahtill, it would be one of immense understanding, however one that wouldn't treat him any differently then anyb'alam else. Why? Because that would translate into a show of trust, and respect. Trust that he knew how to handle himself and the world around him, and respect because he would know she sees him for how he knows himself, to be just as aware -if not more- of the world then anyone else.

She would need to be sassy! No 'marry-sues', as those types of b'alam make it hard for him to trust that they don't have other motives. No one can be that nice! That, and he doesn't want to feel like he has to take care of her as well. He would need a Nahtill that says it how it is, and can manage If something happened to him.

Oh, and she would need to read. Absolute MUST! I has plot ideas for this!

What plots do you want for him?
-Awakening. I want him to know the magus and the water tribe. I want him to be deeply involved with it. As something tells him he was woven their and I front of the magus for a reason.

-Reading! Yes! That's right! I want a whole knew thing to be created in b'alam, so the he can know the past events that have happened. I am taking about braille for b'alams! If not he being the creator for it, by working with the chroniclers, librarian, and Still Water. (And any other key members)

-Talent with music.

-Calloused paws, and nose. He would have a weird little habit of touching things with his nose, and paws. That I think would be very strange to other b'alam.
However it would just be away, for him to understand what was before him even more.

-Lotion, he is gonna need to create lotion. From cowpackas milk. But why in the world?! I'll tell you, if he creates Braille, he will still need to be able to 'feel' the bumps to read. But yet his paw pads will need to be soft, to do so, which could only be explained with lotion, as he walks on all paws. Unless he makes gloves for his Crimson paws. Little boots....

But most likely the lotion...

As boots are slippery and walking on only three paws seems silly.

-Vibrations, I would like him to also be able to pick up vibrations more carefully. Like movement from others and the world around. ( And easier with soft paws, it would be easier. Thanks to the lotion.)

-Story teller. I would also like him to be a story teller, in being able to recite all the history that was gathered, to tell others that can't read. So that they still will know it, for all that would like to hear it. And in case something happens to the library, or the chroniclers writings he would retain most- if not all- (life goal) to have it be restored. (Lol! Rp manger manifested into b'alam...) <----way too amused with this.

-Traveling to the Dark Tribe! Why? Well they do things with Libraries and writings, that and he has heard tale of their amazing grand structures and would like to 'feel' and 'touch' them. Hey, he might even meet with the carver, and make stone Braille

-Rp, lots of Rp I just really want this boy to have some Rp and become a Magus.

-Cubs! Need Cubins!

-Heightened senses, I would like for him to prefect these, and thrive with existing.

-Hunted. I think it would be interesting to see what would happen if a particular group found out about him and heard rumors of why he was woven. -cough- Morning Star. -cough- or perhaps there is just a group of b'alam that are seriously frightened by him, and treat him like a curse. :<

-Strong relationship with the Grand Weaver. Like a personal and close friend.

-Nightmares. Not in the way other seeing b'alam do, but I think it would be interesting that if it was common for him. Like as his Bound with the Weaver strengthens, (As he is water tribe and that is one thing they do, being very spiritual) that he has nightmares and they correlate with something bad that might happen, it is even a Omen in its self. But maybe it's just a coincidence, but he feels it to be something more. (As I know this will need to have its limits. However, blind people do seem to have more nightmares then someone that can see.)

-I would like for him to have a close connection with the water that boarders Mirro te Weavia. Like listening to the waves, and how they crash on the shore, is like a form of how b'alam is trying to tell him something. Like he knows when a storm is coming from the sea, or something is wrong with the sea/lake by it's smell and taste. After all he is woven at the shore of the great mirror, and the moon is a huge factor of such things. Tides and what not, maybe he is sensitive to when tides comes in, or gets a wildstrike when the moon is full. (Lol I kid...maybe.)

What is a good end-game for this boy plot wise?
Life: well if he does live to a long age, I would like for him to pass on his knowledge of Braille, and spend his time in the Water library converting text with his seeing Nahtill.

Death: Now, things can get interesting- if he dies it's like if someone tired to kill a bad omen. (Ha!) Like they think in some twisted way, it will solve the problem...what ever that might be.

Or perhaps it could be a certain group way of trying to make the Weaver mad, or proving that there is 'no power' in the omen.

Either way, it's hard to pick too much of a 'end game' as a lot can come up and change.

He was woven blind...but he has those dark ears. Why would the weaver do that?

Because they look cool! Well, and more realistically most likely to hear better! Wouldn't it be cool if he learned how to read sound waves, like a bat?

Ooo another idea: He makes this high pitch squeak/chirp, and his dark ears help him to pick up the sound waves, like a form of echo location.

(NPC's are not allowed in this shop! Keep that in mind, but you may respond to Stillwater and Chaucer. I give you permission to "play" Stillwater for this entry if your character needs to have dialogue.)

A crisp, bitter, almost sharp smell tackled his sense of smell and woke his thoughts. The subtle poking and prodding of water touching land whispered trough a pair of dark ears; the edge of the Mirror lapped with land. The sound of the lake hushed softly in the background of his sense of hearing as ebony ears awoke to other sounds around him. Other sounds of stillness...

No, there was a 'tussle'?...Was that the right....

'Word?'

Yes, a 'word' it was a 'description' a spoken form of speech that was used to describe a phrase, that was used in language....

The Crimson crowned b'alam's head tilted as his thoughts began to contemplate where he was 'knowing' all these things, so suddenly even. It was like a rush. One that flooded quickly into his thoughts-it was intense. It was almost like he was to be taken over and drowned by a wave of anxiety, if it had not been comforted with a land of understand as it clashed on the shore of his mind.

Another salty crisp breath, a shuttered one was then released. Crimson front paws shifted under him, in a soft, uneven and...mushy land? There was a warmth that seemed to cloak around his body as he rose, as if guided by a string that was held by the grand paw of existence. As he stood, pawed toes wiggled and burrowed more into the grainy earth. How strange. Suddenly there was a soft poke of something that flowed. There was a coldness that seemed to reached out and steal his paw's warmth. Alarmed, with the sudden change of temperature the b'alam quickly retreated a few steps back. With a tilt of his head, it was as if the strange liquid left just like he did.

Was it still there?!

With a hop, the b'alam slashed down onto the water that touched shore. The bits of grain earth tickled in between the pad of his paw, the streams of water that slipped though his fur gently teased like a tickle against his skin.

A strange sound erupted from the maw of the b'alam in what seemed to be a cheer of delight. He hopped once more, hoping to catch the water once more. This time, he went deeper into the water. His hop this time manged to kick up water to his face and maw. It was at that moment, something on his lipped past a opening of his face. It was as if his tongue suddenly had a mind of his own, and knew what to do as it lapped about his maw, trying to change the taste or catch what ever was about his face. It was quick to gain a mixture of earthy, bitter grains and more fresh water.

What a strange sensation!

What was more, was there was something about this strange, slooshy, cold thing. It tickled at his paws and almost seemed to grab at him, and take him. It was...fun, and what was more-was the fact that he seemed to share a 'kinship for it', like it was 'a part' of him but separate. He hoped it would never go away.

With a few more hops, the newly woven danced and pounced about the shore of the water like a cub experiencing a pool of string for the first time. The Night air was filled with the new b'alam's laughter.

It was at the moment, that even the ominous blood moon seemed to even smile upon the delight of the joy of another experiencing life for the first time. After all it could be said, 'for every dream that his shattered another one comes true....'

"It almost seems like a shame to disturb him, doesn't it?" Chaucer asked as he turned his head to look over to his Magus, Still Water. Realizing at that moment, even on a night as worrisome as this; a smile still rested on his maw as he watched the new creature and he turned his attention to his friend. Perhaps the Crimson hue that cloaked one of their two moons, wasn't so bad after all?

Paws quickly danced about the water until they touched dry land. With a whip of his body the new b'alam pounced back into the water. His tail kicked up another wave, managing to splash himself.

Taking in a breath, the newly awoken took in a slow breath as he sat back down on his hunches. His body still being cuddled by the crisp water. A content breath was slowly drawn in to the b'alams lungs as he felt something inside him pound and race as if trying to escape from his chest.

It was that moment his thoughts took to the 'uplifting' feeling that made him feel like he was 'floating' on the inside.

Happy....he felt happy.

Ears turned and tilted back, as something poked at his insides, telling him that there is others like him. Quickly, his head turned curiously, and his body moved with it. Sadly pulling it's self from the water. One stride after another, his tail unknowingly bowed out behind him.

But something more could be exciting where this feeling was coming from. That was exciting in it's self.

It was-

'....'

Suddenly as if something reach out and grabbed on to him, the new tahtll-it what seemed to be in slow motion was scent into forward tumble.

It was at that moment, the new one wondered what such a sensation could be. He felt light, his paw slightly pricked and felt warm. But for a moment...light and free, like he didn't have a care in the-There was a 'flash of light', that shot thought the darkness of his might, that was announced the harsh landing took place of such a 'freeing' feeling.

Among rocks and earth. The b'alam raised his head slowly as his thoughts suddenly felt 'shocked'. What just happened?

Blind eyes opened, unknowingly and blinked as the b'alam tested out the features on his maw-making sure he knew what he had stilled worked properly.

...

All seemed...good?

There was a dull pressure on his front paw.

Sitting up, The Tahtll raised the paw close to his maw and he licked about it, hoping to fix or 'change' the sensation. It was a moment of tending to the foot, the 'p***k' of pain seemed to fade away as tongue danced on rough pad and teeth checked out the pointy things that protruded from it. With a little grab of his teeth, and feeling a tug on his paw, the sharp things seemed to be attached and apart of his whole. Hm, those would come in paw later...

"...That looked like it hurt." Left Chaucer in a slight hush as he looked to his friend, and tribe leader.

"I mean he have to be-" The wind b'alam admittedly didn't understand why he didn't see the rock in front of him. Sure, it was dark and he wasn't a dark triber, but the rock was kinda hard to miss, unless....

"oh...." It has dawned on Chauser. Something or rather someone, seem to whisper such a suggestion in the pit of his soul. What if the newly woven couldn't see?

But...

Why would the Weaver do such a thing?

With a turn of his head, questioning teal eyes turned to place themselves on the water tribe leader....

"...Maybe it's a sign of things to come? Perhaps, he is an omen?"
Chauser was quiet to enquire with Still Water privately, but failed to hide a troubled look from his maw.

A bad moon rises...
Do you know the shop?
Who is the "god" of the shop's lore? The Grand Weaver
How do B'alam reproduce? To B'alam, reproduction is not a sexual endeavor but a much more intimate one. Once two B'alam achieve Yoliliztli, where two halves of a soul become one, they are able to carve idols together. At this point they pray to the Weaver to gift the idols with the breath of life, and bless them with cubs.
What were this boy's parents like? He has none as he was woven as an adult.
What are the uses of water orbs? They are used as a reserve in which water can be absorbed and kept for hydration purposes, but also to be used for magical abilities should they be a Magus.
Are there any supernatural powers in B'alam? Not really no, but there are some elemental abilities shown by the Tribes, and each B'alam is capable of wielding Telekinesis. Also a Magus can tap into their spiritual power to perform magic.

Tell us about him...
Name || Durnesian
xxxName Meaning || N/a
Personality ||
Much like the moon beneath whose light he was woven, Durnesian will start out as a silent, distant observer. Due to his defect he will feel as though he is apart from the other B’alam, as though he is somehow detached from this world in which he will now live. His heart and mind will be consumed by conflict and confusion, and he will know well the pangs of loneliness. Though he was born in darkness and knows nothing else, he will have an inkling of the beauty around him that he has been deprived of. When others speak of beautiful flowers or radiant sunsets it will only serve to fuel his sorrow and apathy.

He will always carry with him a sense of doom or pessimism, something that may have resulted from him being created as a warning of bad things to come. It will weigh heavily on him and he will not know exactly how to cast it off.

Eventually I want him to grow into something stronger than a sniveling, lonely monstrosity with no one to rely on. I want him to begin to see he has a purpose and to somehow develop that. Whether he will be good or bad will be determined by the interactions he has within the shop.
How does he feel about the world around him?
At first he will be angered by the idea that he was intentionally made to be flawed. He will feel as though much of the beauty the world had to offer to him is forever lost, and for what he deems to be no reason. He will feel limited and embittered, but this feeling will not last forever. Eventually he will find beauty without needing to see, and understand the reasoning behind being woven the way that he was.
What will he look for in a soul mate?
He will look for the one who makes him feel complete, the one who removes his feelings of being flawed permanently and makes him feel perfect. Someone who can guide him through this life, yet teach him how to stand on his own. Whether they will be an influence of the light, or an influence of the darkness remains to be seen.
What plots do you want for him?
** Obviously the events of the Meta may shape or reshape plots for me, but I will give a general direction that is subject to change depending on events to come.

Forgotten Doom: Upon first awakening Durnesian spoke of pain and fear, a bad omen if anyone was to believe it but he will have passed out shortly afterwards. When he comes to he will have no memory of what he said, and will hardly even remember the sense of dread leading to anything specific. I would like for him to be questioned by at least Stillwater as he attempts to discern what Durnesian meant with his first words.

In the Midst of the Chaos: This will depend heavily on the meta, but when the horrible nightmare strikes I want for Durnesian to suddenly realize that the doom he had forgotten about up until now was connected to this somehow. Why had the Grand Weaver given him the knowledge then forced him to forget? What was his part in the whole catastrophe? He will want answers.

After the Storm: His heart will still be clouded with fear and an impending sense of doom even after the events of the meta have passed. I want him to interact with various B'alam to see what may come of these feelings. Depending on his interactions he may either be soothed, or forced to accept his negative emotions, and perhaps turn to darkness.

The Blood Moon: Since it is a rare celestial event and he is inexplicably connected to it, I would like to delve further into it in some way. Maybe he will research this or attempt to find out what it all means, or what it means to be marked by the Blood Moon.

Seeing isn't Always Believing: Eventually I would like him to come to terms with his blindness, one way or another. Either I would like him to reach a point where he is comfortable with it and can laugh it off, possibly even make jokes. Or to where at least he accepts it was a cruelty forced upon him by his maker that he must have to learn how to use as an advantage. This one is a bit rough but I think you get the idea.

Bodies Above: He can't see anything and he doesn't really know what he looks like, but I am sure someone will tell him one of these days. Perhaps this could be the lead in to him joining/founding some astrologically based group? Just an idea to kick around and perhaps further in the future. He does have a giant moon on his forehead and stars littering his pelt after all. He is attached to the moon and stars in some way obviously.

What is a good end-game for this boy plot wise?
Now that is a hard question to answer as much if it will depend on his character development which will occur with his interactions in this world. Perhaps he will learn to accept himself as he is and someday become an influential leader or a Magus, or maybe he will go down a much darker path and give in to the fearful appearance of his pelt.

It will also heavily depend on the mark left by the Meta. All I know is that I am excited to learn his story should he be able to tell it to me. It is hard to write an ending to a story that has just barely begun. ^^ Besides, having him be somewhat of an unknown is rather exhilarating, don't you agree?
He was woven blind...but he has those dark ears. Why would the weaver do that? There is the simple explanation of nature at work by making up for the loss of a sense by the improvement of another, but there is also a more metaphorical explanation that could be had. The Weaver is attempting to warn his children that something wicked this way comes, so perhaps the larger ears are an indication for them to listen. Perhaps it is a comment on them being blind overall, and needing to hear.

RP Prompt time!
"He wakes to the sound of waves lapping against a rocky shore, a soothing tempo that calls quietly to him, drawing at something deep within. In the distance he can hear the wind blowing against the towering cliff sides that make up the Water Palace. Unaware of it, a blood moon rises over the great mirror lake, highlighting his ebony form in an eerie crimson. Nearby the protector of the Water Tribe watches alongside the head of his chroniclers."

The sentience stirred, tentatively at first, but soon became overwhelmed by a sense of curiosity and sent tendrils of awareness probing into the darkness surrounding it. It branched out like a newly formed tree as it attempted to get a feel for this new sense of consciousness, but in spite of its best efforts it was still lost in darkness, unable to perceive any direction. After moments that felt like decades filled with nothingness the awareness became frustrated and nearly lulled itself back into a deep sleep when a rhythmic pounding called to it. Once again it sent out the tendrils that had begun to withdraw, beckoned by the thunderous drumming that offered it guidance.

As it followed the sound through the darkness it began to feel more, to realize more about itself…no…himself. The void remained as inky black as when he first started on his journey, but he soon found his consciousness traveling along something smooth and strong. It made him feel at home, made him feel safe, and as though someone had been listening to his thoughts a word formed from within the emptiness; Water. It was more like a breath than actual speech, but the meaning delved deep within his newly awakening soul.

The stream of consciousness he had been following continued to be pulled by the current, swept upward in a never-ending arch. For a moment the darkness was peeled away to reveal an explosion of blinding red light, and then he was plunged into the black abyss once more. The pounding that had first drawn his attention grew louder, faster, and altogether more adamant. Heartbeat; another breath told him.

The sense that he had nearly climbed as high as he could go mingled with something more; dread, foreboding, and a sense of wrongness suddenly overwhelmed him, but before he had time to properly react the feeling of being pulled along by the water came abruptly to a stop. It was as though he had met with a dam and then been overturned into a new world, his awareness suddenly becoming something much more solid.

At first he could not decipher the cacophony of noises that seemed to bubble up around him and permeate every fiber of his being. They started out relaxed then became frantic before quieting down altogether and leaving him in a dark and silent world of uncertainty. There were…others…around him, but he could not seem to lift the curtain of black that prevented him from seeing them. Eventually he came to realize that the sounds he had heard were voices, more specifically words followed by gasps of shock and fear.

He began to move which appeared to startle whatever onlookers he had, but he finally began to understand what he was. He was no longer simply an awareness traveling though the void, but a solid body with a soul. He could not see himself, but he could feel himself with each twitch or pull of a muscle. Though he was solid he was not whole, something he wished to learn more about but knew this moment to not be a time for questions. He stood, frozen in place as all around him remained still and his consciousness attempted to make sense of it. He stood there with an unpleasant sensation gnawing at his gut and causing him to wish he could return to that place of nothingness and calm, but then someone drew near.

“Welcome newly awakened,” the strong voice beckoned, uncertain at first but growing in certainty with each word, “I am Stillwater, leader and protector to the Water Tribe. What may we call you?” The voice had a fatherly tone about it, but it did not prevent him from shrinking away. There was still something looming over him, a heaviness that he could not quite make out but it frightened him very much. He took a few steps back, overwhelmed by the sounds of wind and water, and by the attention he had garnered. As he did so he could tell the other was slowly attempting to close the gap between them. “Please, do not be afraid. I will not hurt you, of that I can assure you with the utmost integrity. I simply wish to welcome you, and to learn more about the newest member of our family.”

The words were innocent enough and somewhere within something goaded him to trust the one speaking, but a black stickiness still grew within him. “Fear. Pain.” The words slipped from his maw like stones plummeting into the depths of the ocean. Something was wrong, something was coming but he did not know how he knew that, or how he could tell Stillwater. “Durnesian.” He ended rather skeptically. His name had finally come, but he felt that something much more earthshattering was sure to follow.
