A cub rp before Kalista decides to start training early and before Kalani gets cub napped.

To the young cub that had just begun to shake the last lingering tendrils of sleep from her small form, the moon appeared to be the gleaming eye of some great beast staring down at the family from on high. Even so it did not frighten her, but gave her a sense of comfort and safety. To her the moon stood for a beginning to the day, for a time in which she would awaken to see the smiling faces of her family once again. The moon brought a backwards morning to her, but she loved every moment of it. And as Kalista finally brought herself to all fours she made her way instantly to her brother Kalani.

She tread carefully, avoiding limbs that were strewn this way and that in an attempt not to awaken those who wished to sleep in. Her chest grew taught as she worked to hold her breath as a way to steady herself on her quest. Her game nearly ended when she narrowly missed stepping on a tail, but a narrow miss it was and she was able to go on. Her eyes were on the prize as Kalani finally came into view and she pressed herself low to the ground.

It was not her intention to frighten him for she knew how sensitive he was, but rather wake him in her traditional way. She crept forth until she was eventually able to gently press her forehead against his. “Little brother.” She whispered tenderly. “Time to get up.” She whispered a little more loudly, this time placing her paw delicately on his cheek. “If we don’t get moving we’ll miss the Moon Moths.” Her glance slid to the floor of their den which was now bathed in a silvery light. “Don’t you want to go to the moon with me Kalani?” She asked with an excited smile.

Kalani had woken early in the evening, however with no one else up he did not want to disturb anyone's sleep so he drifted back to sleep. With his sister's paw on his forehead his teal orbs flickered open. Giving a small yawn he stared into his sister's face. "I was wondering when you would get up sis" he whispered softly. Another yawn escaped him. "What about the others?" He questioned about their siblings, wondering if anyone else was up or if it was the two of them. "Anyone else up?"

His ears gave a gentle flick as if he was listening for the other's signs of wakening. Finally determining they were still asleep he spoke "We should wake them up too, its more fun when we are all together." he told his older sister.

"I do want to go to the moon." He replied back, "But together with everyone, even mom and dad and uncle Zeke." He gave a nod before he moved flipping himself off of his back to his four paws. "Think mom and dad will want to chase the moon moths with us?" he questioned.

Kalani was quite talkative for one who often jumped from his own shadow, but he was with family in a familiar area it made him comfortable enough to ramble on and on some times. Any others around and he would barely speak and leave the speaking to the rest of his family.

Feeling exceptionally playful for one having had just awoken, Kalista rolled on her back and gently began kneading her brother’s chin. Her ears pricked at his question as to whether or not anyone else had stirred and in response she listened to the sounds of her family breathing peacefully. “I think it’s just us right now.” She gave her best upside down shrug before rolling onto her belly and leaving Kalani’s face be. Looking over her shoulder she surveyed the den like a predator seeking prey before crouching into pouncing position.

Her small bottom wiggled in the air as she prepared to leap upon one of her relatives, but before she acted she looked out of the corner of her eye to her brother. “Who should we wake up first then?” Her wriggling was soon replaced with a contemplative expression at his next query. Their parents hadn’t ever chased the moths with them before, but that did not mean that they wouldn’t. Sitting back on her haunches she lifted and dropped one shoulder noncommittally. “I dunno, we could always ask them I guess.” Her eyes shot skyward as she thought further. “Or we could catch moths for them to ride too!”

Her voice was growing in volume, something she caught towards the end of her statement. Placing her paw over her mouth she giggled. “Oops.” Came the muffled little voice hidden beneath her paw.

Crimson orbs slipped open as the cubs stirred. His ears flicked listening to them as they woke, and then as they became louder. A small yawn escaped his maw and lifted his head glancing into the darkness. The male's eyes fell upon Kalista and Kalani the first to wake of the little ones. Ears flickering towards their parents he noticed that they were still asleep. Well the way these two were going they weren't going to be asleep for long.

Shifting his weight the adult moved to his four paws. With a small stretch he gently made his way over towards both of the little cubs. "You won't be the only ones awake if you keep going at it." he whispered softly. "Come now" he began to usher them towards the entrance of their home, using a gentle nudge with his wings. "Let's go outside so we don't wake anyone else."

It appeared she had caught her error too late as the voice of her uncle caused her to jump and squeak in surprise. Whirling about she looked up at Zeke with both excitement and annoyance. “Uncle Zeeeeekkkkeee.” She whined, reaching out to swat at him as his wings began herding her out of the cave. With a quick look at Kalani followed by a wink she bounced happily toward the maw of their home. Unfortunately her plan to rouse the others was looking less and less likely, but at least their uncle had awoken.

She emerged into the silvery light of the moon and began quickly to twirl in circles beneath its ethereal light. She adored the moon for some reason. Maybe it was because it was always such a beautiful and welcomed sight, or perhaps it was because she had made such wonderful memories beneath it. To some it made the world seem cold and mundane, but to her it brought everything to life. She couldn’t imagine living in constant sunlight. It wasn’t as though she disliked the sun or its warmth; she just preferred the world of night that she had been brought up in. Turning back to the other two she waited impatiently for them to catch up.

“What are we going to do tonight Uncle Zeke?” She questioned excitedly. Would he join them in chasing some moon moths? Or would he perhaps give them more flying lessons instead? Maybe they would even wrestle! She was sure between herself and Kalani that they would be able to take him. The thought had a wide smile showing her sharp little teeth. Tonight was a realm of endless possibilities and she was looking forward to each and every one. Maybe the others would wake as well and join them too? It was always fun to have the whole group running around playing. She adored her family and felt as though she were the luckiest cub in the whole world.

With a bounce to get her started she ran toward Kalani and did a full circle around him before batting gently at his wing. “You’re it!” She yipped before dashing to the other side of her uncle where she paused to stick her tongue out at her brother.

"Shh" He tried to shush her as he ushered both her and her brother out of the cave."Your parents deserve to sleep more." Once they were in the light of the silvery moon, then they could talk normally, but he continued to whisper until then.

Zeke stretched himself trying to loosen his stiff joints caused from sleeping. Once his legs were stretched out he did the same with his tail and wings.

After they were out of the cave Kalista started to ask a question, about what they were going to be doing that night. Zeke himself did not really know what they should do. He had the night off so, it was his turn to watch the cubs as their parents went about their nightly duties. "Well..." he started, before taking a small glance up at the moon. Thinking upon it himself. He did not know what he wanted to do. Perhaps they had a request. "What do you want to do?" Zeke inquired to the two cubs, looking down at them with his crimson orbs.


Kalani was quite hesitant to leave the cave. Slowly he put one paw in front of the other, constantly looking back where he came as he did. He did not want to leave the comfort of his parents behind, but he also wanted to play with Kalista and Uncle Zeke. It was quite the predicament he was in. In the long run he did end up leaving the cave with his sister and uncle. Though he kept to his Uncle's paws, as for the small cub the outside was quite frightening for him. Kalani was not as brave as the rest of his family.

He listened as his sister began to ask their uncle what they were going to be doing tonight. Despite his skittishness, Kalani did like the flying lessons their uncle gave them, even if he was quite horrible at flying. With out even noticing it he got tagged by Kalista. "Kalista~" he whinnied softly. Teal orbs gave a bit of a scowl in her direction. But he was quite thankful that she had not left the confines of their uncle's paws.

"I will get you!" He cried out, finding a bit more courage. Determined to get her back he crouched down. With a small little butt wiggle he pounced through his uncle's legs at where Kalista was stationed.
