Pokemon New Beginnings

Name: Sakura Stone
Age: 18
Bio:Sakura is the daughter of the CEO of the poketch company. She is blind and as such uses her hearing during her pokemon contests and battles as well as depending on her pokemon to be her eyes while on the trails. Her team consists of a Zoroark named Sebastian, Jewel a shiny ninetails, Akiza the shiny Fennekin, Sargent the Arcanine, Rocket the Luxray, and Shadow the shiny Greninja. Sebastian was her first Pokemon, and as such, is her number one protector. She's very clever but you wouldn't know it by looking at her. She depends on her pokemon to be her eyes where ever they are. Her father was worried she wouldn't be able to compete or travel, but gave her the chance to prove herself by battling him. When she won, he decided she could care for herself with the help of any Pokemon she would capture.


Name: Zek Terron
Age: 18
Bio: Zek was born as the only child, his father vanished shortly after his birth, leaving him with his mother and an empty pokeball that Zek now wears around his neck. His mother entered depression not long after and when Zek was five she began abusing him. Then one day he ran off into the woods, crying and hurt. A little Riolu had come over to help, giving him a couple of berries. The two became friends after that and were basically inseparable. By age eight, Zek began his journey, Riolu at his side. Through the years they'd been in tons of battles and beaten many trainers and leaders. Now Zek and his pokemon wander about finding new places to explore.

Sakura, a blind Pokemon trainer, was on her Arcanine's back as she was on her way towards her next contest with her friend Zek. "Hey Zek.....Do you think I'm ready for the Contest?" She asked as she looked ahead while sitting on Sargent's back, princess (Side saddle) style. Sargent was proud to be Sakura's pokemon. Akiza, her fennekin, was in her arms snuggled up to her mommy, sleeping. Sakura wasn't sure she was ready for this contest. After all, it was for her fifth ribbon before The Grand Festival. She had other pokemon with Professor Sycamore back in her hometown of Lumiose City back in Kalos. the only pokemon she had with her from there, was Akiza and Sebastian, her Zoroark. She got Akiza as an egg shortly before leaving Kalos. Sakura had never been able to see the world in front of her, and it was always her dream to prove to her family she was a great trainer. Plus it helped to have Zek by her side.

Zek Terron

Zek and his Lucario walked alongside Sakura's Arcanine's side as she rode on top of it. It was rare for Lucario to be inside his pokeball, the two much rather preferred being side by side. Zek stretched his hands up over his head "You'll do great. We've been practicing those combos for quite some time now. Plus I'll be right there with you for the most part." Zek smiled. He'd been helping Sakura with a lot of things, from training to prepping for the show to making sure that her pokemon were set. Despite him being a boy, Zek was pretty good with getting coordinated costumes for trainers and their pokemon.

Then a thought hit him "Do we know if they'll let you have an escort onto the stage?" Zek asked. Some of the contests had allowed for him or Lucario to walk onto the stage with her in order to make sure that she was in the right spot and wouldn't trip on anything.

"You always know exactly what to say to get me to quite worrying." Sakura said smiling as she moved her head in the direction of Zek's voice. Then when he asked if the contest people would let her have an escort on the stage she said "I did call but didn't get in touch with anyone, and I've been trying to call every time we stop at a Pokemon Center. All I could find out was the contest is a double battle stage." Sakura didn't know if they would allow him on stage with her. She was hoping they would. Sakura was always doing her best and using her hearing to make sure her pokemon were in tiptop form. That and she had some help from Zek with that as well.

Zek Terron

Zek smirked a bit "No worrying, Lucario and I have your back." Zek chuckled playfully rubbing Lucario's head getting a light punch in the side in return. It was obvious how close the two of them were, they's been together since he was about 6 and have been at each others sides since.

"So a double battle stage. You know what combo you want to use? Any of my pokemon are willing to help out if you want." Zek offered. Despite Zek not participating in pokemon contests, or at least as far as Sakura knew, his pokemon were pretty good in contests, though in his current team, Salamance and Aipom were a bit weaker in contests than the others. "We'll ask about escorting once we get there and sign you in." Zek smiled a bit. He enjoyed being with Sakura, before meeting her, he had only traveled by himself and his pokemon.

"I think I have an idea of which one I want to use. I just hope you'll be able to help me get to where I need to be on stage." She said with a giggle as she could hear the two rough housing again. She enjoyed Zek's company, as well as his pokemon.

When he offered to let her use his pokemon she smiled and said "You don't have to do that. I'm thinking of using Sebastian and Jewel as my partners for the first round but I may want to change up my team so I might use Umbreon if that's okay." She said smiling as she pet Sargent's head. She then heard Akiza waking up and smiled. Akiza snuggled up to Sakura making her giggle a bit. "Well hey there sleepy head." Sakura said smiling as Akiza said "Fennekin!" (Mommy!). Akiza had the cutest little voice anyone would ever hear and she loved to play with Aipom and Lucario.

Zek Terron

Zek let out a small chuckle "It's fine. I'm sure that my pokemon would like to do a contest with you and your pokemon." he smiled. Listening to her plan for the first round, Zek gave a small nod, "Yeah they always do well together. I'll make sure Umbreon is ready to go once we get there. It'll be good to use different pokemon in each round. It keeps the audience interested and it keeps your opponents unaware of what weaknesses your pokemon will have and then counteract it." Zek explained then laughed a bit.

"So who's Umbreon going to be working with?" Zek asked curiously. Umbreon had helped quite a bit with the contest training and seemed capable of managing well paired with her contest pokemon. Plus Umbreon was Zek's second strongest pokemon, right behind Lucario, it would definitely give an advantage in the battle. Zek smiled a bit as Akiza, Sakura's Fennekin, woke up from it's nap.

"I was thinking Rocket. I know that Umbreon can use Psychic and I was hoping to do those electric fireworks we've been working on in the battle round. I know they're still in development but I think that it's ready for a field test." Sakura said as Akiza hopped into Zek's arms yelling "Fennekin!" (Daddy!) as she always thought that Zek was her daddy and was always a daddy's girl, despite being Sakura's pokemon. AkizaShe then giggled as she licked Zek's cheek happily.

Zek caught Akiza as she jumped over to him and held her lightly, letting the little pokemon lick his cheek. "Morning to you to Akiza" he chuckled. Akiza had always seemed rather fond of him, it was nice. Lucario gave a small smirk as Akiza played with Zek, he liked to see Zek happy, they had met at rough times for each of them and had grow together to overcome their own challenges. Ever since they left their hometown, Zek had always seemed much happier, it probably felt nice to get away from the abuse.

Zek nodded with a smile as he looked at Sakura "I think that's a good idea. It's been working out really well during training. And if Rocket adds in a bit more energy then we can have Umbreon rain the sparks down after the explosion. It'll cause an area of effect for the sparks. Granted it probably won't do much damage but there's a chance that it could paralyses them." Zek smirked at the thought. Readjusting Akiza, Zek looked up at Sakura, "We'll be there soon. Then we'll start all the preparations." Zek said excitedly.

Sakura smiled and said "I can't wait!" Once they arrived in town, and at the Pokemon Center, Sakura was taking a shower in their room. They had their own beds but Sakura didn't like to stay all by herself as it reminded her of all the lonely nights before she had Sebastian and started her journey. She smiled as she made her way out of the shower and got dressed in some clothing that she got in the last town they were in. Her Pokemon were being checked by Nurse Joy, well except for Akiza who was playing with Lucario.

Zek Terron

Upon arriving at their destination, the small group entered the pokemon center, getting one of the rooms for travelers. As Sakura went to take a shower, Lucario sat on the floor playing with the energetic Akiza, while Zek brought out Umbreon. The light blue emitting from the jet black pelt was entrancing. Kneeling down and hugging Umbreon, Zek looked at Umbreon "Alright, you up for a contest round with Rocket?" Zek asked excitedly getting a nod in return. "We're probably going to be using the firework combo. I think we might be able to create an area of effect paralysis. You think that it could work?" he asked curiously. "Umbre" Umbreon replied with another nod. Zek smiled and rubbed Umbreon's head.

Hearing Sakura exit the bathroom as she finished her shower, Zek turned to look at her "Alright, Umbreon is good to go!" he informed her. Umbreon was a nice choice for contests, and when placed next to Rocket, the two made an incredible looking pair. Their jet black fur with the spots of blue and orange gave off an amazing appearance, they complimented each other's looks without the need of accessories or anything. "He's pretty sure that the paralyzing trick will work to." Zek smiled.

Sakura couldn't help but smile and said "Thanks to both of you. I don't know if I'd still be traveling without all the help you and your pokemon give me Zek. I really appreciate it." She then blushed a little as she had feelings for Zek and wanted to show him but wasn't sure if he was going to feel the same. She knew he liked her as a friend, but more than that, she wasn't sure that he'd feel the same. She then hugged him trying to hide her blush that and she just wanted to be in his arms.

Zek smiled and let out a small chuckle rubbing the back of his neck lightly, slightly embarrassed. He never really thought that what he did was a big deal, he enjoyed it and was glad to see Sakura enjoying herself on the stage. "It's not a big deal, that's what friends do, right?" Zek teased suddenly wrapped in Sakura's arms.

Relaxing his head lightly against hers, Zek loosely put his arms around her, figuring that she was just worried about the upcoming contest. "You're going to do great. Even if I can't be there to escort you, I'll still be supporting from the sidelines." Zek smiled a bit. Besides pokemon, Sakura was the only person he was comfortable with such contact. He use to freak out, having flashbacks of the abuse that haunted his past, but after being with Sakura for quite a while, he'd grown comfortable around her.

"Thanks Zek. You're the best." She said before she kissed his cheek in thanks after softly touching his cheek and to show how she felt. She blushed and said "How about we go get something for dinner? I think we could all use it." She then smiled blushing a bit before Akiza went over to Sakura happily before she placed a paw on Sakura's leg. "Hey you." Sakura said picking up Akiza into her arms. Sakura smiled as Akiza snuggled up to her. Sakura smiled as she started to try and find the door.

Zek Terron

Zek couldn't stop the tinge of red that came up to his face as Sakura kissed his cheek. When Sakura brought up that they should go eat dinner, Zek nodded still kind of flustered about what had just happened "Uhh yeah, that sounds good. There's a good restaurant not far from here." Zek informed, seeing Lucario smirking off to the side as he stood up. Looking down at Umbreon, Zek rubbed his head "You get some rest for the contest." he smiled, returning Umbreon into his pokeball. Turning back to Sakura, Zek went over to her, Lucario at his side as usual. "Let's get going then." Zek said opening up the door.

Zek had led the way to the restaurant that he had mentioned. It wasn't anything fancy, but it had a comfortable atmosphere to it which was one of the reasons Zek liked it. A waiter escorted them to one of the booths and Lucario sat down as Zek helped Sakura enter the other side of the booth, not wanting her to hurt herself by accident.
