The sun was high in the sky, glinting off the many pieces of shiny jewelry adorning the body of Sephia, the Goddess of the mountain spring. At least, in her eyes that was her title. The tahtll further up the mountain, an impressive Earth who would always appear larger than he was with his Godly aura, was similar to her. Awoke here and felt he was destined to watch over his little piece of the world. To him, she was the Harvest Goddess. To her, he was the Harvest King. But, even so, they didn't have anyone but each other, the other presence on the mountain they would see every so often. They were not leaders. She, at least, didn't really want to become one. The more B'alam on their part of the mountain, the more trampled the flowers would become. The more noise that would scare away the little animals. And, without flowers, there would be no butterflies or bees.

To get up the mountain, fortunately, was not an easy feat for most. Sephia had once tried to find her way down, just to test the path. Had she not left a trail in the way of claw marks in the dirt, she doubted she would have been able to find her way back up. So the chances of others finding them were slim. Possible, but slim.

Today found the self-proclaimed Goddess tending to a patch of flowers. She held up a little clay pot, filled to the brim with water, to sprinkled over the petals of the flowers. The bees and butterflies steered clear of the drops, as if awaiting her to finish before they would swoop in to taste the nectar and collect the pollen. Sephia would than collect some honey from the hives of the bees, enough for herself and plenty left for the bees to survive.

The golden rays of the sun graciously caressed each scale upon the light Tahtil's back. Each scale gladly soaking up each ray and stored the energy within his horn. By night fall the crystal-like orb surrounded by thick bone would glow with its pale golden light without fail and create at least a small radius of light in which the light tahtil could travel by.

With each step toward the peak of this tall mountain the changing weather below in the valley seemed less and less apparent. It was as if he were entering a new world all together. A new world that was easily accessible by a stone path.

Well...

Deity paused mid step to glance at the narrow trail. The path was covered in pebbles and rocks of various shapes and sizes. The edges of the path hugging tight against the mountain only had a few strands of desperate plants clinging to what little soft earth was available to them. The mountain itself only allowed a slight horizontal stretch before dropping off suddenly to a near vertical incline. A brief gust of wind could easily push any loose rock from its insecure perch and start a chain reaction. Some of the path was covered in evidence of this reaction.

With a slow breath Deity continued up the narrow path toward the top of the mountain. Perhaps the path was not "easily" accessible to all. Not that anyone else really mattered. A dark b'alam could easily scale this mountain with their long leathery wings. The winds racing up the sides of the mountains would provide amble enough lift for them to perhaps be attracted to such a place. And that was why he was here now. His pray very well could have found this mountain and roosted here. The last trace of evidence had seemed to point to that.

As he rounded the next corner seemed to reveal a whole new terrain. A new world within a new world perhaps? His cold eyes narrowed as he saw what appeared to be a figure working across the way. It couldn't have been his pray. Most obviously she had no wings, therefore not of the dark tribe. Her fur was light, as if she were raised from the patch of grass she had been working on... not back and cruel as a starless sky. Lastly, she was a nantil. His prey was a Tahtil. The golden trinkets reflecting the sun's rays more brilliantly than his pale scales were what caught his eye most, but he knew that they had nothing to do with his pray. The gold he wore was darker, as if tainted by the darkness itself.

For now Deity decided to hold his distance and observe. Perhaps he was close by? If so, he wanted to be sure before making any more.

The butterflies and bees fluttered and buzzed around Sephia's head, making a little halo around her ears. Once the little patch of flowers had their fill of water and the Earth had moved, the little swarm shifted closer to the earth. Some of the butterflies settled on the petals of flowers, extending their long tongues to drink up the sweet nectar while the bees settled further down, digging their head deep into the flower's center. They rose back to the air, little crumbs of nectar clinging to their fuzzy legs as they made their way back to the hive. The nantlil smiled as she watched them go. It vanished quickly for a second as her pale blue orbs fell upon the stranger. The clearing was devoid of most trees, which stood along the edges to create a sort of fence that shielded her paradise from the rest of the mountain. One could only see it well from one of the two trails. One going down and one that went further up the mountain into the Harvest King's territory. The stranger had taken the one that would have started from the bottom of the mountain. Probably for the best. She wasn't sure how the other Earth above would have taken to someone unknown on the mountain. Sephia, however, always took a positive outlook to everything.

"Good day!" she called out cheerily, moving to another spot of flowers to sprinkle with the pot of water. It only phased her a little to have someone unknown to her standing on the edge of her little paradise. He could mean trouble, yes. But he could also just be passing by. Or he could be lost. Either way, if things didn't go well, that was just how it went. She had decided to remain here instead of seeking out others of her own kind for company and protection. Perhaps the bees would protect her since she took such good care of the flowers. They had yet to sting her, even when she collected some of their honey. Or maybe she just smelled too much like a flower. She stood, sat, or lay in them nearly 24/7.

"What brings you up this way? The path only keeps climbing."
