The sound of bees buzzing was everywhere, drawing close and flying away all the time. A few even perched on her ears, quickly darting away when she flicked them out of instinct, afraid of what large creature belonged to it that might swat at them. The B'alam wasn't laying near their hive, nowhere near. There was no reason for violence. There was too much pollen in this little corner of the mountain side to gather from all the different colors and styles of plants that covered the grass like a blanket. Far too much to do for little insects to pay more than a few seconds of attention to the lump laying in the middle of the meadow.

The smell of the flowers rested inside Sephia's nostrils. She was calmed by the scent every time she inhaled slowly in her sleep. She liked to settle down in the middle of her little paradise, the better to keep an ear out for anything or anyone coming too far into it. Since she'd woken up on these very same fields, she'd felt a connection with it, like this was where she was meant to be. And it was far too beautiful to leave, anyway. So many different kinds of flowers all over. A little brook flowing over a high rocky cliff to make a little spring pond against the side of the mountain. A few little fish swam under the surface, seemingly content to live there for their entire little fish lives. They didn't seem in any rush to leave and that was fine. They added something extra to the beauty of the place.

Her place.

And, of course, if this was her place indeed, meant only for her to watch over, she must have a fitting name to go along with it. Sephia alone just wouldn't do. It was too...Mortal. Everyone had a name. But she would be the Goddess of the Spring.

User ImageSephia had her place and he had his. Higher on the mountain stop was a secluded grove. He had woken here and thus would protect it. This was his place, the light shone in from above dancing off the rubies that lined the walls causing his home to look quite magical. There was no simple way to describe the glorious beauty of his home.

Though his gove did not have a spring or the same amount of flower's Sephia's cavern held it was filled with orchards of cherries, and grapes, olive trees and best of all apples. His trees were the pride of his orchard. Those below would come begging for the secret to his fruit. and he would not tell them. They were unworthy. One had to prove their worth to him he had been woven with great agricultural knowledge of many things.

His name was Ignis, that would simply not do. The name simple and mortal. Though it was a name of fire! Why should others know his true name. No he would give himself a new name a name worthy of himself. The Harvest King sounded appropriate and all would address him so.

Further down the mountain was a pure spring. The Harvest Goddesses Spring. It had not taken him long to realize another balam lived here. Neither had told each other their name. However, in exchange for gifts of jellies he made she allowed the King to take her water from her spring of the purest water to grow his crops. The water caused them to flourish and shine. It was not a bad arrangement.

The Harvest King made his way down the mountain It was time again to gather water for his orchard. He carried a basket filled with a new batch of jelly along shining cherries and apples for the goddess.

Sephia was crouched down beside a little batch of flowers when Ignis appeared in the meadow. At first, she didn't notice him, too busy watching the little bees gather pollen onto their little legs from the flower before flying off to another, the yellow dust still attached to their body to help pollinate the rest of the meadow. She watched them with a little smile on her face that barely shifted when she got up to notice she had company.

"Good day, my lord," she greeted him politely, being sure to offer that dazzling smile in his direction. Always the friendly one, Sephia enjoyed being friendly with everyone and everything. One got further in life by being polite, after all. She had no purpose to being mean or isolating herself more than she already was by being so far up the mountain. Anyone who took the time to climb up-or down-deserved a warm welcome. "Is it that time, again?"

Without waiting for a word from him, the earth nantlil wandered off towards the pond below the waterfall. In a little cave behind the falling water was a little crevice where she kept the pots for carrying the water around, whether for Ignis or for herself. She grabbed one of those to fill up, sitting down at the edge and glancing back at him. "Same amount?"
