The sound of bees buzzing was everywhere, drawing close and flying away all the time. A few even perched on her ears, quickly darting away when she flicked them out of instinct, afraid of what large creature belonged to it that might swat at them. The B'alam wasn't laying near their hive, nowhere near. There was no reason for violence. There was too much pollen in this little corner of the mountain side to gather from all the different colors and styles of plants that covered the grass like a blanket. Far too much to do for little insects to pay more than a few seconds of attention to the lump laying in the middle of the meadow.
The smell of the flowers rested inside Sephia's nostrils. She was calmed by the scent every time she inhaled slowly in her sleep. She liked to settle down in the middle of her little paradise, the better to keep an ear out for anything or anyone coming too far into it. Since she'd woken up on these very same fields, she'd felt a connection with it, like this was where she was meant to be. And it was far too beautiful to leave, anyway. So many different kinds of flowers all over. A little brook flowing over a high rocky cliff to make a little spring pond against the side of the mountain. A few little fish swam under the surface, seemingly content to live there for their entire little fish lives. They didn't seem in any rush to leave and that was fine. They added something extra to the beauty of the place.
Her place.
And, of course, if this was her place indeed, meant only for her to watch over, she must have a fitting name to go along with it. Sephia alone just wouldn't do. It was too...Mortal. Everyone had a name. But she would be the Goddess of the Spring.
