- Personality: A bon vivant by nature, Silvano is the type that seeks out instant gratification, while avoiding anything too labour intensive. He unaccountably feels as though he cannot truly enjoy himself around others unless he is in some way the focus of attention. Though, somewhat arrogant and a little bit cunning, Silvano attempts to mask his shortcomings behind the veneer of a cultured and well-liked kid, even despite his growing misandry (which stems from not knowing how to interact with other males). When it comes to females, Silvano shows them a more courteous and sincere side of himself, treating them with the same level of respect he'd normally reserve for his sisters, possibly because he's use to treating his younger sister that way. Being new to attending public school for the first time, Silvano is a little standish, but is more or less eager to get along well with others and make a decent first impression.
Strengths: Silvano seems to find great interest in conversing with others and is able to pick up on and remember little details about a person, especially though multiple encounters. He also seems to find retaining information somewhat easy for an eleven-year-old, probably thanks to the diligence that was ingrained into him at home. Silvano also takes his studies seriously and knows slightly more than what an adverage kid his age would know, thanks to having extra materials of study selected for him while spending significantly more time at it.
Weaknesses: Silvano finds it difficult working with pokemon since he doesn't have the patience to show them compassion and understanding, maintaing a firm belief that pokemon are below humanity and should naturally be subservient to the superior race. In addition to struggling with working alongside pokemon, Silvano will come to find that he harbors a deep-seated hatred for other males roughly his age, unless he finds some sort of benefit from hanging around them -- otherwise, he'll treat them with subtle animosity. Silvano is relentless when it comes to pursuing his goals. So much so, that he disregards any ramifications that don't directly involve himself whenever considering his course of actions. As his father had taught him, people around him are to be viewed as pawns, essential only for elevating oneself in life -- which maybe detrimental to any true friendships Silvano happens to create. Well accustomed to getting whatever he desires, Silvano has trouble accepting when things don't go his way, and is not afraid of showing his jealousy towards others. Despite his flaws, Silvano will attempt to hide them under the guise of a kindhearted kid.
Biography: Born into a rich family within Olivine city, Silvano was the second youngest among three other siblings, (Emilia (24), Lucia (21), and Artesia (9) ) two of which had already grown up and moved on. Silvano's father, Salvestro Silvano, was a strict and authoritative man, despite spoiling his kids rotten, while his mother was a soft spoken and devout fantasist who sided with whatever was convenient for her at the time. His mother and father were largely absent their lives; his mother spending many months overseas, indulging her career as a fashion model and their father, a famous diplomat, hardly had time to spare as his hands were almost always tied with representing other regions abroad. In their absence, maids looked after Silvano and his sisters and remained prominent figures in their lives, very loving and sincere. While all of his sisters were allowed to attend private schools, Silvano was requested to remain home-schooled by his father, who decided on particular subjects of study in the hopes of creating a successful heir to the family.
In an honest effort to fill the void him and his wife left for their children, Salvestro he had spent a small fortune on pure bread pokemon to give to each one of his children, once they turned seven, except for Silvano, who he felt would be negatively impacted by owning a pokemon, in fear of him losing interest in his studies. So when Silvano's younger sister, Artesia, became seven years old, he became both irritated and jealous of her new pet, which she constantly paraded around him. It was then that Silvano decided that he didn't care for the creatures much and started to detest them. Because of the pokemon they were given, it was no surprise that Silvano's sisters became interested in chasing childish dreams of becoming pokemon trainers and aspiring legends. Silvano resented their beliefs and passion towards pokemon since he was made to pursue a career as a diplomat or politician instead, a much less exciting venture to the then seven-year-old.
When Silvano's older sisters, Emilia and Lucia became of age to start their own pokemon journey, they each left home once they turned eighteen and had traveled around on their own, collecting both pokemon and badges. Both sisters consistently wrote letters and emails home, detailing extraordinary adventures, describing what pokemon they had encountered. Silvano payed no mind to his sisters letters until one day they stopped coming. It had seemed that both Emilia and Lucia had mysteriously dropped all contact. Silvano wasn't initially concerned about his sisters until his father put up a reward for their safe return. It was then that Silvano made the grave realization that they must have been kidnapped or worse. Despite not having the closest relationship with them, Silvano felt as though he had to do something for them in order to feel at peace with himself, as their only brother.
At the age of ten, Silvano decided that the only way he could learn for sure what happened to his sisters, was to go on a pokemon adventure of his own, especially since his father's cash reward turned out little in the way of any tips or public interest as the case of missing kids was widespread. This idea of Silvano's was shared only with his younger sister, Artesia, as he knew his father would detest it. In agreement with his plan, Artesia loaned him a Zubat she had obtained weeks earlier and had no interest in training (as the pokemon disgusted her).
Training his sister's Zubat, Silvano experienced very little success with it as the two barely got along. Fostering little interest in pokemon in general, Silvano hardly knew how to take care of it, let alone train it to fight and often had to neglect the pokemon for his studies -- in fear of his father learning of his new endeavor. In turn, the pokemon was prone to ignoring him in protest, going against his commands as he treated it with little respect or kindness. One day while fighting with the Zubat, a girl, roughly his age, showed up and got the pokemon to obey her. Bewildered by her ability to connect with the pokemon, the girl quickly taught him a thing or two about taking care of the bat pokemon properly. This girl's name was Maria Taylor, who soon afterward became a close (and only) friend of his -- who he often visited to get help with training his pokemon. Thanks to her help, Zubat was able to finally listen to him and became a little less wayward. Though, to Silvano's dismay, Maria never really seemed too fond of him, as it seemed as though she would try to go out of her way to avoid him. Silvano would find ways to track her down, much to her dismay -- though it also helped that her kindhearted mother often made the girl hang out with him, just to be courteous. Apparently, Maria only felt bad for his pokemon and that was the only reason she hung out with him. However, this information didn't deter Silvano as he still considered her a good friend regardless.
After Maria turned ten, she decided to attend the Ordell Academy that promised to turn aspiring trainers into successful ones that could handle themselves in a much more dangerous world. Interested in what the Academy promoted and promised, Silvano set off for the island as well, joining alongside his friend.
