I have a pretty serious problem!

Okay A couple of days ago i bought loveless and gravitation from barns and noble. my grandparents asked me what i got and i told them it was Yaoi. they didnt know what Yaoi was so I told them what THAT was. My grandpa freaked out REALLY bad and started to suspect that I was gay! wich...im a GIRL! My grandma knew better and just told me not to like gay guys kissing! and she had to calmdown my grandpa and defend the fact that im not gay! But...the bad this is I went on her word and now I love gay guys kissing!

well...im just glad they (Hopefully) forgot about it! But now I cant read any of my Yaoi manga because they walk in 24/7 and will see that im reading it and freak out again! Ill probobly just have to read it when they are not home! I could read it at a friends house but if THEY saw I read Yaoi manga they would think the same thing! *sigh* And the only friend I could go to lives in Pensylvania! And then if HIS parents saw us reading they would totally freak out!

I really don't know what to say - I haven't gotten the nerve to buy flat out yaoi manga at this point, so all my stuff is fairly internet-based.

buy a couple of hard cover books that are about manga sized and then take off the book covers. Hide the books, and put the book coveres on the manga. As long as they don't see the inside of the book you're reading, you're fine. Make sure it's a book you like and that you would read more than once, so then if some one asks why you keep reading the same books over and over again, you can just say that it's so good you can't stop reading it. I've never had to do this before, so I don't know if it would work, but it's worth a shot, right?

Well it's not tecnically sex (yaoi), is it? I mean you can't just walk into Barnes and Noble and buy the remix, can you? (though that would be awesome) Wait...what did you tell then yaoi was?

Anyways, do you have any other manga? Just keep it in with all the other manga you've got and don't read it while they are around.** Then bring it to school or go for 'a walk' around your house or something to read it or (as Teh Dux0rz said) read it at school. Screw what people say. Most just ask if it's 'gay anime porn' (or at least that happenes to me a lot >.>) and just keep on reading and say yes. That's the best answer I've got.

(** - I'm going to getting the Catergory Freaks yaoi manga soon ((has anyone read it?)) and I'm hoping it can just blend in with all my other manga. My parents will never expect it's....man-sex. xd )

XD;; I just wouldn't have told them. A friend of mine used the excuse that yaoi was another term for anime. Her parents bought it, and it's saves her life on many occasions.
Though, now that the deed is done, I just suggests what everyone else has been saying. Try to be sneaky about it. Maybe keep another manga or book out while reading it, so you can swap out when they come in to check on you.

I told them it was Homosexual relationships! Thats all i really said! Then my grandpa started freaking out!

I am sneaky about it! Thats why I read it in the bathroom! But I read it so much I think they are beggining to think im sick! I just go in and sit on the bathtub and read!

a part of me is wondering why you even told them in the first place. saying you got a comic book would have sufficed. they would understand. but if you're the type that needs to be honest then all i can tell you is just not to bring it around them. they'll soon forget and all will be well.
