Moving with grace and agility around a makeshift training equipment of a thick tree trunk that was buried in the earth, something that this Water b'alam thought up to help with solo paw to paw combat, every part of his body was screaming from the burning of muscles with his fur drenched from a mixture of sweat from the beating noon sun and the water from running to swim two laps before returning to the tree trunk.

Without using claws to not chip awy and destroy the trunk, the blue Brave leader Gundisalv, pawed harshly as if it was an enemy and moved with the grace of a dancer but only to the beat and tempo of a Warrior's dance.

One final slap at the trunk, Gundisalv breathed harshly and swiftly pushed his burning body towards the water again for another two laps. But these final laps in the water were to cool him down in concluding his personal training. Coming out of the water, washed from his sweat and feeling the soothing coolness seep to relax his aching muscles, Gundisalv shook out the excess of water and turned to drink a hearty fill of the life giving and nurturing element.

As he did so, his mind wondered slightly to the past months. So far he had a small group of Braves joining the warrior's call. It was a good start especially when the ones that joined were passionate about what they wanted to do and in agreement to his philosophies. If anything they had been awakened for this purpose and it pleased him. Of course Gundisalv didn't show that sort of reaction but he did show his contentment in the coming training of each of them. It was a slow process but it was good to nurture the ones who answered his call.

Turning his head to look at the clearing of the designated training area, he thought about bringing along more fallen tree trunks to create more makeshift equipment for those who wanted to practice solo when others were off doing their own duties of patrolling and guarding. It was fortunate for them that there was nothing major going on. Gundisalv wanted to ensure that his recruited Braves were prepared for anything even if their numbers were small.

Gundisalv however hoped that as b'alam were awakened or born from their idols that reached their maturity would find the warrior's call within them and seek him out for approval, for the opportunity to be something much bigger than themselves. The male had no patience or tolerance for anyone who could not handle rules and conformity.....and being delegated to tasks. That was perhaps the reason why many were hesitant to approach Gundisalv, they sensed that strength of character in him. But it was no reason for anyone to come to him to be a warrior.

User ImageTidestorm was made to be a warrior. This she knew. Her creator had endowed her with strength, with bravery, and with integrity, and with the scouring need and desire to keep her Tribe and her city safe from all harm. When she had arrived in Mirro te Weavia, she had made some inquiries as to where she could complete her mission. She had been directed to a training ground, and told to contact the one known as Gundislav--with the warning that not all B'alam could put up with his strict rules.

Strict rules? Pah! Strict rules would make a strict military! She could handle that easily. The very next day, she made her way, shortly after dawn, towards the training ground to meet her destiny. Look smart! Look trim! Clean her claws and clean her orbs, and she was ready. Until she got there, anyway. The figure at practice, by his description the leader of the braves himself, looked tough and confident, and in the face of such confidence...Tidestorm could feel herself wilt. What if he rejected her--?

No. He would not. She was made to be a brave, and she would not let herself betray her purpose. This was her mission. And standing here in the dirt would not serve her purposes in any way. With a deep breath and a squaring of her shoulders, she marched neatly into the clearing and stood at attention. She did not dare speak--she did not trust her voice to make anything other than a squeak, and besides, what could she say that was not insubordinate? No. She would not speak until spoken to. Eyes forward, claws at half-measure, she waited for the brave commander to notice her and issue her orders.

Nearly becoming lost in his thoughts that revolved around the most important thing in his life, there was a dark spot with blue of movement coming into the clearing of the training area. Back to the present his blue eyes moved to take in the sight of this newcomer and narrowed slightly. Gundisalv made no move to react until he saw what this citizen was doing here.

The leader of the Braves watched silently as the citizen stopped at the position of attention with an air of expectation and waiting. It was a curious approach but one that Gundisalv mentally clicked off as a good point of respect from this citizen. Standing up gracefully and with the restrained power, the leader of the Braves walked forward with the intimidating air of no-nonsense and all business.

Stopping at four paces away from the citizen, Gundisalv took in the sight of this female citizen. Good another female to join the ranks of the other females which would make the comfort level easier to obtain for her...if that was the reason she was here. Growling low in the back of his throat, his deep voice sounded over the smooth wind and breaking that peacefulness of the area. "State your business here female so that I am decide on whether or not to dismiss you from my presence and the training area that has been designated for my Braves. But I warn you, should you be here to mock or whatever frivolous intentions you have here will be met with serious consequences."

Gundisalv lifted his head and moved into much calmer position to sit down despite the warning he just gave this female citizen.

The black nantlil had to fight back the impulse to frown or show disapproval. Sure, she was female--but did Gundislav have to emphasize it so much? She began to have second doubts--anyone who addressed her by her half-spirit was unlikely to be friendly towards female recruits. She kept her face calm, and even her tail and ears gave no betrayal of her annoyance. She would just have to prove to him that she could be as good, nay, even better, a brave than any tahtll. "No, sir!" she said, enunciating each word carefully to avoid confusion. "I am here to join the Braves, sir!"

She watched him move into a more sedate position, and she felt her eyebrows twitch with curiosity. He started off formal...but then relaxed. Was this all a formality, then? Had she...miscalculated the leader of the braves?

So many questions, and from a B'alam not normally prone to curiosity! The only question, she knew, that she should be asking was how Gundislav would react. She had not, so far as she knew, done anything to give offense. If there was some way recruits were to contact Gundislav, she had not heard about them. So far as she knew, she was quite solidly in the clear on this. Unless she had, indeed, miscalculated him very, very badly.

Gundisalv stared long at the female. She was here to answer the warrior's call. Narrowing his eyes on the female before him, the Brave leader looked over her from head to toe taking mental notes of her position of attention. It was impressive to see her at attention, already showing her respect. "Give me your name and answer me, why do you wish to join the Braves? There are other trades to learn and follow such paths as the tanner or scribe."

The large blue male wanted this female to show him the depths of her sincerity but also the depth of her dedication through her words, her body language and through her eyes. The eyes especially as they were a window into one's soul and if he could not read the passion and that true calling in her eyes, then Gundisalv would reject her.

Gundisavl only wanted seriously dedicated warriors for the Braves army. Like Sahasi and Verya who have become prime examples of strong female Braves. The leader had no true care in the world on what gender a b'alam was, but he did take special consideration on females who wished to become mothers at some point of their lives or in case someone treated the females less than equals then Gundisalv made it a point to let those first two females know that they can fight their own battles but to inform him in order to correct that flaw.

Essentially everyone was here for the protection of their Tribes and it's citizens. If that vision of the mission was lost then Gundisalv would be a very, very, very angry male indeed.

Back to the present with this female, he lifted his head up to stare. "Speak your words freely and in honesty. I neither have the time nor the patience to shift through what is sincere and what isn't."
