So you know my parents are coming into town. You know the ones that live ten hours away that we haven't seen in YEARS.

Niece: Olivia and Alex are going to the park today, grandma said.

Me: Okay Olivia and Alex MIGHT go to the park today.

SIL: Well mom doesn't get to see them that much.

...she lives ten minutes away. My parents live TEN HOURS away.

Well, I see the logic of your argument, but we all know parks beat family any day.

Also, your SIL is kind of an idiot for potentially taking away bonding time from the grandma that lives forever away just to see the one that lives just down the block.
