About the Family
Father - Barij: He's one of those individuals who finds something he loves and sticks with it like glue. He's a dedicated individual by birth, from his awakening he has stuck to the tribe's homelands faithfully. Never faltering, always steadfast in his resolve. He adores his pride, and the B'alam that inhabit it. He's a kind individual with a bit too many faults too mention. But the first of them being he doesn't know when enough is enough. He will dedicate himself to as many tasks as are asked of him, and wear himself thin. He doesn't do so merely for the sake of the others who ask them of him though, he does them because they make him happy. His heart soars a bit in his chest when he does these favors for those around him.
When he became a family man, his entire world changed, for the better some would think, and even he would think that. But truly it might have been a bit for the worse. Because now he'll bend himself backwards for his children and his mate. Despite his terrible dependency on his and others happiness, he leads a normal life outside the fact that he will not step foot outside the tribe's grounds. His cubs can all expect to be taught to be faithful to their tribe, and all that it provides. He will teach them to love what they have and not go seeking more than they need. Trouble always seeks the greedy, and he doesn't want his children to be greedy.
Mother - Chocolate Rose: She is as sweet as her name implies! A soft spoken darling who loves the company of others. Never raises her voice or loses her temper for any reason at all.
Both parents are VERY much homebodies. They don't like to leave the Light Tribe capitol. This is something that will be prominent in the cubs home life. They will often have family outings within the capitol, teaching their children all about their tribes culture.
Sister - Mīṭhā (Sweet in Hindi) - ~Twilight...Angel~
She is a sweet playful little darling, just as her name implies. She will do anything for her family that is asked of her.
Brother - Ujjvala (Brilliant in Hindi) - ~Twilight...Angel~
Intelligent and kind, he will never let down someone he loves. But he longs for the outside world instead of being stuck in the capitol city his whole life.
This contest is for exactly who it says, newbies! Paws and I have decided to spread the love around, so who better to spread the love to than a newbie. So let's get this show on the road!

Personality Contest!
This contest is exactly what it says, for a great Personality! I personally LOVE RP and this family is just too pretty to go without! So this darling will go to the one who captures her essence best! And there is no real naming theme to these guys. Just nothing too terribly over the top.
RULES: 1. Though we can't stop you, please don't enter if you don't RP. That is kind of the point of this particular contest. 2. Please fill out the form completely 3. This family is very kind and loving, so unless you have a fantastic idea for a plot, or series of plots to make it happen, there are no "evil" or rebellious children that will come from this family. If you have a good plot for it though, I would LOVE to see it written out! 4. If the form is NOT finished by closing, it will be disqualified. Sorry!

Name of Idol: Aseema ---Meaning: "Limitless" - Hindi Personality: Aseema is a little daredevil. She has no limits (see: her name) as to what she is willing to get herself into. That being said, she would never want to see the same in another, particularly her family. Smart as she is, she does recognize that her reckless behavior can be a bit dangerous, and as she cares extraordinarily for her siblings and parents, she would never want another to get into the ridiculous situations she sometimes finds herself in. Just like her parents, she is selfless and ready and willing to put herself out there for anyone in need.
Plot Ideas: I haven't thought up much, but different parental interactions stressing how reckless she is would be nice. Perhaps one of her siblings attempting to follow her actions and ending up hurt/in trouble because of it? I'd like for her to see the actual affect she has on people, because although she's definition "selfless," she doesn't understand that her actions affect those around her in ways she may not be able to see normally.

They were doing nothing more than lazing about in the bright, sweltering day. Aseema was lying on her back, eyes closed, sighing heavily. They were doing nothing. Absolutely nothing. Just like every other day. Peeking an eye open, the small cub peered over at her parents. Completely at ease, they were gazing upon their cubs, completely contented in their situation. Aseema groaned quietly and tossed onto her side, away from her mother and father. She loved them. She really, truly did. But she had no idea what their problem was. They never wanted to do anything. "Exploring" was a completely foreign concept to that, and that just wouldn't do.
Careful not to alert anyone of her plans, she rolled back over to face her siblings and parents, keeping her eyes closed. No one was speaking; all she could hear was their even, deep breathing and the gentle caressing of the wind through the trees. Perfect. Falsely, slowly blinking her eyes open as if waking from a nap, she glanced around. As many siblings as she had, you'd expect at least one of them would be paying attention. However, it seemed they were all completely conked out. A sly smile spread across Aseema's maw as she carefully, quietly lifted herself to her paws.
She decided to pad forward first, through her quietly napping brothers and sisters, towards her parents. They were so, sickeningly cute together, cuddled up in the bright sunlight, enjoying the sleepiness the rays gave them. It almost made Aseema want to hurl. Almost. Until she remembered that their love brought her and her siblings to being, and made her mother and father the great B'alam she loved more than the stars in the sky. She smiled a bit, contented at least in the realm of her happy family. Once she realized they were out, however, she began to walk away, in the opposite direction. Leaping up a few wide, stable crystals, she peered about once again. Finally, it was time to find her way out of the capitol.
What do you like about B'alam so far?: Ahh, it's just so busy! It seems to be one of the most active shops still prominent in the B/C and so many of my friends are involved heavily in the shop and I'd love to have another to throw myself into. Also, the art is *w*
Name: Saundarya ---Meaning: Beautiful in Hindi Personality: Mysterious and mature, she is soft, she is gentle in everything she does and holds herself with grace. She may seem standoffish but is actually a bit shy. She is a child at heart but doesn't show it often.

Saundarya stood a little bit off of the way as her siblings chat and play. Today she wanted to just relax in the shade and rest from all the playing she did yesterday.
She lay there, basking in the warm weather when a feather caught her attention, floating down in front of her. She caught it with her paw and looked at it.
It was a big and beautiful feather, when skimmed with her claw, the texture is light and soft. But what held her attention is the beautiful red color it holds. It was such a vibrant red...
She looked up to make sure her siblings are still playing, took the feather and went in farther, deeper into the woods. She didn't want their eyes to catch on the bit of color and take it from her.
She wanted to be a little bit selfish.
Going to a nice secluded spot, she looked at the feather again and her mind wondered.
As she looked into the sky, she thought about the world outside of the city. She had heard of the tales of other B'alam who have horns, who lived in ice terrain with fluffy fluffy fur, and then there are b'alams...with WINGS!
Her eyes widen when she saw one land...and collapse a little bit farther away.
She stood still, her ears twitching, listening for the patter of running paws. Upon hearing none, she tipped toed and sneak closer to the figure.
The b'alam was motionless on the ground yet all she saw was the vibrate red wings, feathers that matched the one she found, cover the body.
"Hello?" she said in an audible whisper. The figure didn't move nor speak, nothing.
Being a bit daring, she padded closer to the figure and realized that HE was injured. "Oh!" She exclaimed much louder than she wanted to. There was quite a bit of blood.
She looked around nervously. She wanted to get help but she didn't know the kind of reception the injured b'alam would get from the others yet she didn't just want to leave him here.
Hesitating, she begun to heal him. Though she hasn't practiced all that much she healed him little by little, testing her abilities and making sure he was at least decently healed without exhausting herself as well.
When he was somewhat healed, she then began to move him to a small opening between the trees, where the sky filtered above them.
She then quickly moved far away yet within sight, picked a place to hide, and watch.
Most of the afternoon went by and night soon fell, she knows she should go back but she had to know, had to know that he was okay.
And then right in front of her, the injured b'alam shot into the sky! If she blinked, surely she would have missed it.
Waiting for a bit, making sure the b'alam doesn't come back. She got up and went back home.
And as the night grew on and as she slept, she dreamt of places she has never seen before. In her dreams...she dreamt that she was the one who had wings.
Idol Name: Runa ---Meaning: Old Norse for Secret Tradition
Personality: Runa is always well meaning but that doesn't mean she always does the right thing. Yeah sure, she'll want to do her best to help another in need but its usually her way of helping and not always what the other might need. She loves to share her personal interests with others but never takes interest in what others might find interesting. You could say she is completely self centered. Point out to her she is self centered and she'll likely apologize and be more mindful for a day and a half before reverting back to her old habits.

More than just Good Looks... ;D

Name: Camaka ---Meaning: Hindi for "radiance" Personality: A perfectionist to the core, Camaka hates leaving a task before it is exactly the way she envisioned it to be. She holds herself to high standards and assumes that everyone else does, too. When she makes a mistake, she tries to hide it and pretend that it never happened; she thinks that if other people knew that she made mistakes, they would not like her. She is especially afraid of disappointing or failing to live up to her family.
Plot Ideas: -- Snowballing: Camaka makes a mistake, probably a minor one--she loses something or some such--and tries to cover it up. More and more mistakes are made until she finally cannot hide it anymore and fesses up. Depending on how she handles the situation, either it is proven to her that her family still loves her in spite of it, or her worst fears are confirmed. -- An Invitation: Camaka meets a new friend in the capital--who turns out to be rather more than a friend. When he invites her out of the capital to live with him, she has to make a decision on where she wants to live. -- Make or Break: She wants to be a healer, but the stress of doing everything right gets to her. Either she finds a way to relax, or she pushes herself to be the best healer there is (or among the best). Meanwhile, someone tries to convince herself that, for her sanity, it might be best to change jobs to something less stressful, like crystal gathering.

There were six of them altogether--herself, her older sister, two younger sisters, and a pair of brothers. Sunlight danced across their scales in shades of blues and greens from the crystals that hung in the trees far above. They refracted and bounced against each other as they ran around in circles across wide, bright beams of the tree in which they made their home. It was a beautiful day, a vibrant day, the sort of day that should have filled her heart with beauty and joy and gladness to be alive.
But instead, Camaka found herself in a slightly higher bough, watching her siblings play below her. The arch-magi taught them that cubs were the tribe's most precious resource, a promise for the future and an affirmation of life and all that it represented. So in theory, she should be down there enjoying herself, shouldn't she?
Well, yes, she should be. But...
Her pale eyes could not help but lock onto the silver-and-amethystine tail of her youngest brother--when it was visible from amongst their parents' pink scales. Camaka sighed heavily and rested her chin upon her paws. He was her brother, and she loved him, but...well, weren't they all supposed to be equals? Why did he get more attention than the rest? Just because he was "younger." By how much? Why did it matter? She closed her eyes and huffed once again. He got attention. It wasn't fair. Being one of six was tougher than anyone would think!
She tried to close her ears against the sounds coming from below, all shouting and laughter. More than mere description, the sounds were the sounds of love, and joy, and...
Family. Camaka opened her eyes and looked down at her family below her once again, this time with her mind open as well. Family...
She was the second-oldest of six...that meant that there were four others not receiving the same attention from her parents. They were...happy. With less. Or they seemed to be. Camaka stood up and peered, once again, at her family below.
They were having fun, and here she was...not. Fine, then. She'd go down there, and she'd have fun. So what if her brother got more attention from their parents? That was today.
Tomorrow, she would be older, and she would have done stuff. Important stuff. She would make them proud of her someday.
And it would start with being thankful for what she had. Her siblings. Her parents. Her little brother and all. "Look out below!" she shouted, and she jumped down to join them.
Idol Name: Billaura ---Meaning: Hindi for amethyst
Personality: Adventurous, excited, and a little bit rebellious. She wants to explore the outside world and relishes any stories she hears about them. She loves her family and she loves her home, but she also wants to travel. She's a total romantic, too--she loves hearing stories about true love, and believes that her Special Someone is out there somewhere, waiting for her to find (or possibly rescue!) him.
Any Other Ideas?: Well, she'll definitely have romance in store for her! Maybe even with a Dark Tribe tahtll, or Earth, or Wind! She would probably leave the capital as an adult and go on frequent vacations to other places. She would collect souvenirs and keep them in her home. She would like to raise her children in the capital, and once settled down in life, would likely become a guard in times of conflict or danger.
