Never read it. Or any manga, for that matter...except for Hellsing, and that's only because I managed to borrow the first one.
I'm poor. And lazy. Yes. Very lazy... too lazy to get my own manga.

I have Vols 1-10. I like how it doesn't have strong sexual things, but only a few pages but they still don't show anything. I'm a sucker for romance. o___O

Well I hope everyone doesn't hate me for the name. I found Gravitation to be okay, I really like the Ryuichi character...and I couldn't think of a name and that was the manga I was reading at the time so...^^; . Ryuichi is one of my favorite anime characters. biggrin

It's a curious vanity thing for me too. I started watching anime something like 8 years ago, wit NGE and - uch - tenchi muyo. I thought I was the guru. Then I rapidly went through all anime I could possibly lay my hands on, and now I'm in the point where I'll only bother to look at the most top rated ...sigh... and of course everything by Gonzo.
And then the trend started something like 4 years ago. Suddenly everyone watched anime. And the most terrible ones, even; the ones with the least plotline but the most merchandise and episodes. I struggled for a few years, trying to tell people to STOP watching naruto and DBZ, at least as long as there still are things such as Last Exile and Monster... then i lost all hope XD
That's what happened to gravitation, too. It was fun while it was for me and a few well chosen friends. Then everyone knew about it, and suddenly I realized I was at least 5 years older than the most of them and no longer had that much giggling fangirl in me. gonk
Poor old gravitation. I had watched it dozens of times, that's true. And it was endlessly fun to sing the theme song disturbingly loud and wrong, in a car with a few friends, windows opened to the annoyed people waiting for their lights. XD
These days I mostly see big-eyed children when I look at manga. It's not fun anymore. I cherish a few books of course, the Pet Shop of Horror is the best I've ever read and think I'll never need more. But then I only watch anime like Monster or Mushishi, or Gankutsuou, which was nice because it was based on one of my favourite books, of course...anyway. No screaming girls and pink hair for me.

It has its flaws. Occasionally hideous dialogue draws it down a bit. And some times it just switches a bit too much between being serious and humouristic a bit too much at the wrong places. The way they switched from real photography to animation also bothered me at times.
But... Yeah. As stated I haven't seen THAT much of it yet, and in overall what I've seen isn't precisely horrible (certainly not when compared to some other animes that won't be mentioned here) so I don't exactly hate it, although I don't precisely love it either.

I actually thought the photography integrated with animation was a cool effect, but that's just me. razz I just automatically love most things if I haven't seen them anywhere else, originality is my main weakness. razz

Really? Odd. I haven't read the manga and didn't see that anime until I was already deeply into BL, but I know a few people who got into BL via Gravitation. It's not my favorite, but it's good.

I just think that it could've been done better.

I just think that it could've been done better. True, true! I thought the story was pretty nice until volume eight, where it TOTALLY got off track. Not only that, but the anime has some pretty, well, horrible animations at times. Not like the anime was a total failure, but, like you said before, it could've been better=3
Though, it IS pretty funny xD So, I guess those who aren't Shounen-Ai fans may get SOMETHING out of it.
That, and the story is quite original 3nodding
